What are you playing this weekend?

So I will be playing a medley of things. Spouse isn't feeling too good so I might be basically single dad (TM) all weekend. Things on the docket are

1. Last of US 2

2. Remnant: From the Ashes.

3. The SURGE 2

The Walking Dead: The Final Season - just started and finished episode 1. That was great!
We Love Katamari - bit of progress already today.
Throne of Darkness

No doubt more moon collecting in Super Mario Odyssey with the kid. Maybe get started on Kirby's Epic Yarn or Luigi's Mansion 3 for a change of pace.

I've still got a hankering for the Naughty Dog style of gameplay so I'm gonna get started on Uncharted Lost Legacy which I played a little of when it came out but never finished. And a bit more time on Minecraft Dungeons, grinding to get to the highest difficulty so I can get the Iron Golem summon.

Loved that game so much!

It's about time we got another one of those. That would be a blast. That could do some great updates with the combat. In a lot of ways, they did the stuff that the Arkham games/Mad Max, etc. perfected as far as combat goes.

Ok now I want this too. I would love a follow up to PoP 2008. That other one afterwards wasn’t as good.

But really I was actually playing Titanfall 2 and the wall running just reminds me of PoP.

Finally... finally dowloading Disco Elysium. Really stoked and very curious!

It has been a long time since I started an RPG game, been really into everything strategic the last couple of years. But the times are so confusing I need a some storytelling to transport me to an outher reality for a couple of hours.

I can’t wait for this to hit consoles.

She looks so little!

Some Darkest Dungeon and the last couple of challenges to platinum Rayman: Legends.

The last trophy of Rayman really is one of the most egregious grinds I have ever seen but the kids still enjoy playing it so I have got there, still a great game even after over a year of playing it every weekend.

I know, I am constantly checking for a console release date for Disco Elysium. It sounds entirely up my alley.

As for Ellie... I was thinking about replaying the original. I am not through the sequel yet, but seeing her that young is heart-breaking.

I think I'm near the ends of both Desperados III and Trials of Mana. So of course I spent a whole afternoon playing Tetris 99, again.

Going to pick up my career campaign of HBS Battletech back up to hang out with the cool kids in the new Strategy Gaming Group.

But a package arrived on Friday with some new hardware, so I also made time for Half-Life Alyx.

I don't think I really went into the weekend with much of a plan. And now it's already Sunday!

What I've done so far and plan on doing:

Gladius: Relics of War - just started a 2v2 campaign with all AI in what I'm dubbing "big boy mode". I'd previously been playing higher difficulties but keeping economy and unit level bonuses equal. Apparently, these handicaps are the only things that make the harder AI levels competitive, which is a huge bummer. So now I'm doing higher difficulties "proper" and look forward to be tank rushed by turn 20 or some other ridiculousness.

Dawn of War: Soulstorm - I really should have installed the Total Apocalypse mod right away but my curiosity to try out the Dark Eldar campaign got the best of me.

Dawn of War: Dark Crusade - Reinstalled this today because it is universally lauded as having the best campaign mode of the DoW series and I want to take the Necron campaign for a spin.

Side note: these DoW games moves so damn fast. I wish there was a setting for game speed. On one hand the economy management isn't hugely complex but even on Easy I'm never feeling like I have a moment to stop and smell the roses.

Still a few hours left on the weekend, so this counts! I started Assassin's Creed: Origins, and so far, so good. It is very pretty, and very sandy.

I started Watch Dogs 2 this week and I think that's what I'm going to spend most of my time this weekend playing, along with a bit of American Truck Simulator here and there.

I've got a bunch of old consoles and peripherals lying around that I want to get rid of, so I expect I will spend some time this weekend to hook them up, test them, and then list them on eBay, hoping to sell them. Also take photos of a boatload of Spider-Man comics, before listing them on Kijiji as well. I've been meaning to declutter my life for a while, and I figured now was a good time to do it.

Otherwise, I expect to play more Cuphead (PC) and Shadow of the Tomb Raider (also PC), and maybe get to the end of the first part of Trails of Cold Steel II (Vita).

F1 2020
Ghost of Tsushima

For me (us -family) will be most likely

DQXI - me
Trails of cold steel - me

Family time

Overcooked! 2
Mario party 10
and whatever our sons feels like playing

Definitely keeping on with Battletech with the Strategy club, as I'm getting a hang of things. I'll also probably dip into Star Wars Battlefront II, since that seems to be my go to online game at the moment, so even if I wasn't planning to it'll probably be fired up at some point.

Started Uncharted 4 last night and am loving it, so more of that for sure!

No doubt some Luigi's Mansion 3 with the kid.

Hopefully another episode or two of The Walking Dead: The Final Season.

More Throne of Darkness when I can't muster up the energy for anything else.

Walking slowly and admiring the view in Death Stranding

I have to divide my time up efficiently and effectively, so that I can tackle as much as possible, so:

Elite Dangerous (I need to catch up cause a couple of buddies bought and started this and want me to join them as part of their squadron)
Infamoust: Second Son
Wasteland 2 (started this for the CRPG club but, aside from exploring the starting area for a bit, I've done jack-squat)
LoH: Trails of Cold Steel 2 (doing this for the JRPG club)
Moons of Madness (about halfway through this one, and a long sitting might see me finish it)
Monster Hunter World (gotta keep grinding here for lootz)

Might play other stuff, but these are the aims...

Strategy club? Strategy gaming group?

Edit: Oh, I see, thanks!

Frostpunk. I dunno but it seems like a good choice.

on repeat

I'll be playing Battletech with the GWJ Strategy club and starting Wasteland 2 with the GWJ CRPG club.

Probably some more of my game of Cloudpunk

I may sneek in a game or two of Hyper Scape which was good fun with my first couple of sessions.

Continuing with STAR WARS Jedi: Fallen Order.

Assassin's Creed: Origins. I don't know if you've heard, but it's a really good game.

Ok. So I was going to just power through both of my Baldur's Gate 2: Thone of Bhaal campaigns. But then I saw that Euro Truck Simulator 2 was sitting in my pile purchased but unplayed. So I installed it and ran it as a goof.

Hi! You're going to have a lot of fun with me.

...oh. Ok.

When the game asked me where I would like my first garage, I joked and said it would be hilarious to set it up in my father's hometown of Bari, Italy or my Mother's hometown near Naples, but guaranteed it's not possible.

Would you like to set up your garage in Bari? Perhaps Naples?

....sure. Let's do Bari.

Ok. Tutorial done. It's fun, but I am awful at backing the trailer into the loading dock.

Would you like me to take care of parking the truck in the loading dock?

..Yes.

For your next trip would you like to stream Italian radio stations while you drive?

...si.

Ok. Pick a mission, pick a mission. Let me guess. Hauling cement to Munich, right? Sand to Berlin? Sure great immersion here.

Would you like to drive a truckload of pasta to Naples?

...I WOULD like to drive a truckload of pasta to Naples.

Are you having fun yet?

Decisamente!

Welcome to ETS2!

Grazie mille!

I'm still playing BG2:TOB but as a side gig I'll be transporting Sauce to Milan in the near future.

Family visiting time!

Loaded up the PSVR with Bear Saber, Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes, and Superhot VR. Hoping to try them out! I was considering a Jack Party Pack, but haven’t quite decided on it. I think I have 2 and 4, but open to buying others if there’s a better set.

Also picked up Paper Mario Origami King! Hoping to try that out this week with the 6 year old!

Since finishing TLOU2, I've been having trouble figuring out what to play next. I've got plenty of options--between Game Pass, the Twitch racial justice bundle, and semi-recently stalled out attempts at Divinity Original Sin 2 and Dragons Dogma, there are many many things I sorta want to play. But nothing is grabbing me. I just downloaded Ooblets which I can play on Xbox for an hour for free... We'll see.

Have you tried Intergalactic Fishing? Nice little diversion.

This weekend should be a grab bag. I've got to get further into my JTS Japan '46 game, finally with the default optional rules (assaulting trenches and forts was too difficult with the alt assault rules set). Might break down and get their WWI campaign Serbia one, too. There's Shadow Empires, and Troubleshooters: Abandoned Children (excellent turn-based tactical, still under development), and Death Stranding. And I want to get the season pet in Diablo III so a bit of that too.
