What are you playing this weekend?

Dove into Hitman 2. So far I love it; I suck at stealth games but love the concept, especially when it's done well. Probably my favorite stealth game is Splinter Cell:Chaos Theory and I've wanted to play a stealth game of similar quality for the longest time, this game gives me hope of being that.

While the shooting and overall aiming are not great, most everything else gameplay-wise feels good and well thought out especially from a design perspective, plus shooting is not what I want to do in this game so much anyways.

I only finished the intro level, prologue yacht training section and the "final test" portion; I did replay the yacht a few times tho and got a good feel for the mechanics, great tutorial. The replaying trying to get silent assassin and do some of the challenges appeals to my OCD nature and seems to be the way the game was intended to be played. I'm looking forward to playing again later in the week and actually doing some missions. FYI, this is my first Hitman game.

I'm also playing some Game Dev Tycoon on my phone thanks to Play Pass and am enjoying it as a solid time killer. Seems well designed, particularly the progression. The historical progress aspect makes for a good way to keep the player engaged and paying attention, albeit it makes for some predictability since so far it has been 1 to 1 with real life as far as the console releases go.

Still plowing through Assassin's Creed: Origins. Man that game is enormous. And Bayek is a great and believable protagonist, up there with Ezio. The time off that Ubisoft used to revamp the AC franchise was clearly useful!

Also, while WoW's latest expansion slows down a bit, I've been diving back into some alt play with Legion. I skipped WoW: Legion the first time around and regret it now. That might be the best expansion since Wrath of the Lich King.

More Code Vein, on NG+ and trying for different ending which means there's more backtracking this time around. Still enjoying it as an 'accessible' Souls game, alternating between a heavy 2-hand build and a high mobility caster (unlike Dark Souls the game encourages build swapping).

I'm considering delving back into streaming now that my connection is a little more reliable. I had a pretty successful attempt the other night, and it was great fun! As such, I'm back to learning some more arcade style games.

Currently on the menu

ZeroRanger

This has probably become my favourite shmup. I'm still rubbish at it, but it's so much more than it seems. The less you know, the better. All I will say is that it's in a similar bucket to Doki Doki Literature Club and Undertale. It's a damn shame it doesn't get much recognition due to being in a more niche genre. The icing on the cake is that it's genuniely a brilliant shmup at its core, the extras just elevate it to something amazing.

Metal Slug 1

Slowly learning this so I can attempt a 1 credit clear. I have fond memories playing these games at the local arcades in my youth, and I've always wanted to return to them. It's great finally learning how to optimally play, and the few tricks I've learned already have helped immensely. I'm pretty comfortable getting to stage 3 without losing a life, and can sometimes clear the mid-boss on a single credit. I'm confident that I can manage a 1cc in a month or two

Being able to play this on PC or take it on the go on my Switch has been a godsend. I love being able to practice on the bus!

I randomly fired up Vampyr last night, so I'll probably put some more time into that. I might also see if I can put any more time into Control.

As I'm trying now to do my Space Game Junkie playing and recording all on the weekdays, my weekends are now intended to be all for me, for the sake of balance and my sanity. Therefore, this weekend, I'll be diving into:

Can't freaking wait.

Now that I'm back on my island fortress, I can dig into some games again, assuming that people can stop infecting, poisoning, or injuring themselves long enough for me to have enough free time to do so.

On the Switch, I'll probably be bouncing between Doraemon: Story of Seasons, Astral Chain, Untitled Goose Game, and Torchlight II.

I'll also be playing Yokai Watch 4 which I've decided counts as a chunk of my daily Japanese language study.

On PC, I think I'm going to dig into Oxygen Not Included. I've bounced off similar games in the past, but this one is intriguing enough that I'll probably put some solid time into it.

The Outer Worlds
Doraemon
F1 2019

I want to say I will be playing lots of games, but its a lie, it most likely be almost nothing but Trails of Cold Steel 3 and a little bit of Raceroom.

After completing the main story for Fallout 4, I'm now going through Far Harbor, and trying to get the level 50 achievement before I'm done. I'm also looking at starting Super Metroid on the Switch.

Outer Worlds, Destiny 2

Tetris 99 to get the Luigi's Mansion theme, and some Assassin's Creed Odyssey.

Some Dragon's Crown (Vita, possibly PSTV if I can get off my butt and hook it up to my TV), and probably some Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (Switch). If my usual partner is available, possibly some Monster Hunter World Iceborne (PS4) or Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate (3DS) too.

Going to make progress in Mirror's Edge: Catalyst and return to Call of Juarez: Gunslinger. Might get around to some more Final Fantasy VII on Switch as well as try out Ring Fit Adventure.

Pretty much same as last weekend.

Working my way through Catalyst and Gunslinger and loving both. FF VII on Switch is a great way to play it and I've put in lots of time into it the past two weeks.
Ring Fit Adventure is surprisingly tiring. Not sure if it'll have staying power, but it's fun for now.

Disco Elysium is amazing. Just genius. I'll be messing around with that for a while.

So Disco Elysium, Outer Worlds and Borderlands are lined up.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare is top of my list this weekend. Likely going to fit some Destiny 2 and Rocket League in as well.

I keep getting Outer Worlds confused with Outer Wilds.

The difference between The Outer Worlds and Outer Wilds

Playing some Outer Worlds (not Outer Wilds). Really digging the fallout vibe with less jank and prettier graphics.

I still need to give Outer Wilds another shot, but I didn't get around to it this weekend.

F R I D A Y.
The Outer Worlds Restart on hard.

Trails In Cold Steel 2 25 hours.

Working on the recent Battlefront 2 campaign. Might also do some Rocket League.

Looks like it’s gonna be a Minecraft weekend.

Definitely fitting some Rocket League in as well.

About to jump into Mount and Blade for the first time. Any tips very welcome...

Same as last weekend.

Probably just Darksiders III.

I’m bouncing between Forza Horizon 4 and Outer Worlds.

I’m really digging revisiting FH4. It looks like they’ve tried to make it a “living game” in that they keep adding stuff. There are just so many icons.

The Outer Worlds looks like my RPG of the moment. Runs great on the PC and is a nice surprise from Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (or whatever it’s called). I didn’t realize it was included. It’s bringing back all the Fallout 4 vibes.

10 Miles really caught me off guard.

Picked it up on a whim after watching on Splattercat and it slotted a spot into my Top 10 for the year with shocking speed.

Started Return of the Obra Dinn late last night. Got stuck, went to bed and had a lot of Obra Dinn-themed dreams, got up this morning and played a lot more.
