What are you playing this weekend?

Advice? All I seem to be able to do is keep my distance until Hero Strike regens. Kassandra is around lvl 21 now.

I've playing almost pure stealth, when that fails I resort to arrows to the face tactic.

The big thing was Second Wind, which I now see is essential. I avoided it at first, but the fights are so long that I had to be perfect to go the distance without running out of health. That meant playing conservatively and never attacking unless I parried or timed a dodge first. Now I play loose and I don't worry about getting touched as long as I'm landing enough hits to recharge my magic points -- I mean adrenaline.

Weapons Master and Gear Master also help me win those trades. Finally, Ring of Chaos because I am perpetually outnumbered (I don't seem to have the patience to stealth kill more than a couple of guards before it all blows up). I reluctantly gave up Sparta Kick, which I wasn't using much. If I want to recruit, I always have sleepy arrows.

I don't actually have Hero Strike but after reading up on it, maybe I should.

Chipping away at Ys VIII. It continues to delight. There's always something new lurking around each corner. A new mechanic, a new piece of interesting scenery, a big plot development...It just keeps on giving! I'm about 20 hours in, feeling like I'm just over half-way through. Loving it!

Also dove back into Mushihemesama. I've spent a good ~18 hours playing original arcade, unable to get that one credit clear. Someone recommended I try arrange mode and I LOVE IT. The bullet patterns are harder, denser, but the auto-bomb helps. It's not so much a harder experience as it is a different experience, and it made me fall even more in love with the game. It's so. good.

I also want to try getting into Battletech. It's been a bit difficult for me to approach the game mechanics and slow-pace when I just want to come home and relax. It's a bit too heavy for me at the moment, but the new expansion announcement has me very interested. I'll find the time soon.

Getting my grand-strat map game on with Imperator. Looking forward to being completely lost all over again as is the case when I fire up new PDX titles. I swear that learning how to play these games is almost as fun as just playing them outright.

Picked up W2 on a whim and am really digging it so far. Been like a million years since I played OG Fallout 1 & 2 and this one is really scratching that itch.

Playing the puzzler TV2 in between my mains. Man, what a charmer.

EDIT:

Just lttp realized that Kerbal had a nice QoL 1.7 update.

Looks like it's time to dive back in.

This weekend? Well, mostly portable stuff, like Persona 4 Golden. If I'm lucky, I can put in some time into Sekiro, Call of Cthulhu, The Cave, and maybe something else if it strikes my fancy.

Also, I bought Brave Fencer Musashi from the Japanese PS Store, and I'm loving that nostalgic trek. My scant Japanese is really rusty, so, it takes a bit to get the gist of what they say - if at all. Thankfully, it's a mostly action-oriented game.

EDIT: Well, the plans of mice and men and whatnot... I just got the news that I'm in the running for a position I'd applied to at work and need come design a corporate training course from scratch and facilitate it before a panel of "judges" on Monday morning, so, this weekend will see even less playtime than I'd envisioned. It's a good thing, though, so, maybe I'll sneak in some game time somewhere in there.

Just an update: My entire week's plans our down the drain, because I finally tried out this custom firmware thing for PSP.

It is THE BEST handheld emulating rig I've played. I'm obsessed with this thing now! NES, SNES, Megadrive, GBA...All of that in the palm of my hands. I may even leave my Switch at home during my daily commute!

The plan for now is to attempt to finish Chapter 4 of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel (Vita) with some Path of Exile (PS4) with a friend thrown in for good measure.

I'm also in the process of configuring a Retropie machine with Steamlink and Kodi, and my media library needs some work in order for the stuff to be scraped properly, so I will spend some time on that too.

I'll probably be spending a good amount of this weekend packing since I'll be moving in a week's time but I hope to get a little further in the 7th palace in Persona 5 at least.

I will probably spend the entire weekend with PS VR strapped to my face.

For the ease and the price it is one of the best.
Also P.S. Check your battery just in case it started to swell.

For me...
Thinking about
1. Sekiro. I founds a new area of the Castle. The guys with the knot? haircut are rough.
2. Borderlands 2. Just to mess around with all the DLC.
3. DQ7

I think I’ll be starting with some Trails of Cold Steel — gotta finish Chapter 2 ahead of this month’s end! Then, I’d like to infiltrate the 7th Palace in Persona 5. If I wrap those two goals (which is probably too much already), maybe I’ll get back to Marvel’s Spider-Man.

I think it's time to return to Red Dead Redemption 2

Its going to be a long weekend. I will maybe get some time for a mobile game.

Again, as much

as I can fit in. Plus, for Space Game Junkie, this just came out:

So I have to cover it, along with regular entries of:

A very explosive weekend, to be sure.

I started playing Candle: The Power of the Flame today. I'm about 40 minutes in, and so far I love the art style but am already frustrated with some of the puzzles. We'll see what happens...

This will be a Division 2 weekend for me and I may start AC Odyssey.

Division 2 and might have my annual dip back into Elite Dangerous to see what has changed

Division 2 for me mostly. Almost 30.

I have to say I am disappointed with shapeshift fire elemental in my solo heart of fury run in Icewind Dale EE.
The druid on the other hand is mega uber... Summoning boring beetles (that are quite interesting TBH), using call lightning to mop everything up out doors. Summoning animals is great too as they can kill masses faster than the beetles but they last a much shorter time. (though still quite long)

Also, along with Candle, I decided to start Detroit: Become Human. I'm about two hours in, and I am really enjoying it.

Oh Candle! It's a gorgeous little game, isn't it? Some of the platforming can be a bit frustrating, but I really enjoyed it. Glad someone else is playing it.

After three months of Persona 5 and another with the first half of Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel, I kinda needed a break, so I started playing Gravity Rush 2 (PS4).

Really loving it so far, and I'm only two hours in.

It is beautiful, but I agree it can be a bit frustrating because half of the time I don't even realize an object can be interacted with or a ledge can be grabbed because it is an actual platform and not part of the background. That makes everything a little confusing, but the visuals are amazing for sure. I think I read somewhere the whole game is hand drawn and hand painted, which is an impressive feat!

I started playing Final Fantasy VII on the Switch! I've not played it in well over a decade.

I think this is based off of the PC port, so that means there's slightly better graphics (AKA smoothing out some of those pixels). I do however LOVE that they put in cheats. It really does speed along some of the slower parts of a game that is 22 years old.

If Final Fantasy IX on Switch has done similar things, I will also give that a go next.

I got VII on the Xbox One and felt that all the pre-rendered backgrounds could have used a pass with a sharpening filter of some sort. Still love that they released these games on more platforms than PC and Playstation finally.

I agree. The polygon characteres are bold, but they are against the washed out painted backgrounds. It really doesn't feel like they are in the world, but instead are walking on top of paintings.

I may be playing nothing but mobile games on my phone this weekend during commutes... I'll be in Jacksonville at "Welcome to Rockville" festival, so not much gaming will get done, if any.
