Not gonna have a ton of gaming time this week, so for the blog I'm gonna hit:

For the weekly series, and:

To prep for our podcast with the lead developer next week.

If I have any free time, I'll likely do more of:

Should hopefully be a good weekend!

I'm so glad you finally tried a Dark Souls game!

I liked AC Origin, but that is an insult to bad Dark Souls clones.

Think I will try Subnautica this weekend. Maybe Tacoma.

This week I finished up the second dungeon, maxed out a social link (and now one of party members is resistant to fire attacks and has a higher chance to dodge the wind attacks they're weak to!), drafted another party member, and got a sweet SP restoring accessory for the main character. Everything's going really well in the game, so this weekend is an all-out assault on the third dungeon!

I must be on an aquatic, sci-fi theme this weekend:

Star Ocean on the PSP is so good.

Heroes of the Storm.

All Zarya all the time.

Apart from when I'm playing GazLord.

After playing 3 scenarios from the campaign of Battlecry 3 I decided I'd had enough for now and finally started playing Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition. I've been planning on playing BGEE for at least a couple years. I played the original when it came out, but it has been so long I wanted to see if I would still think as highly of it now as I did then.

It's funny, but I don't remember the intro at all. Well, I remember that I needed to prepare to leave town because of unknown reasons, but I would have sworn it started off in a small town with a festival going on. I thought there were various games, including to brothers I'd need to beat in some feat of strength or sparring match. I also thought there was some type of cow contest. I wonder what game I'm thinking of?

That vaguely sound like Neverwinter Nights 2. Where you have to leave town because of the shard piece in your chest.
I could be wrong.

More of playing like this in Quake Champions:
IMAGE(https://vgy.me/SjeEgo.jpg)

and also beginning Minecraft: Story Mode

Trying out Zombi and Shawdow Warrior on the Xbone. Zombi seems a bit sleepy.

Planning on spending a couple of hours running up my score on Turbotax. It's one of those classic spreadsheet strategy games but can be strangely satisfying. Once a year I pull it out just to keep current.

Then back to Wolfenstein: The New Order. I picked this up for $7 or so when New Colossus came out and it's been good fun so far. My 7yo's been into Rocket League lately so I'll be spending some time with that. I think I have a rising NHL enforcer on my hands- he can't play the ball for beans but excels at demolishing other cars.

Yep, that's the one I was thinking of. Thanks!

Speedrunning my kill-everyone, no-needles/Typhon run on Prey, then doing it again with only human powers.

Metal Slug 1

After buying Metal Slug 3 on the Switch eShop, I was very curious about the first game. There seems to be a divide between the more casual players and serious 1CCers/scorers -- the vast majority of players tout Metal Slug 3 as the best...! The game with the most content, the best branching paths, greatest story etc. I get it, it was amazing, but the minority claiming 3 isn't all that great have some strong arguments; 3 is hard. Too hard. 3 is long. Too long (Took me 1.5 hours to clear!), 3 has waay too many bullet-sponge enemies. In a game about runnin'-and-gunnin', stopping all the time, and for so long, really starts to feel stale.

So, Metal Slug 1 it is! I'm on the naysayers side of the fence and believe this to be the better of the 2. It's faster, cleaner, more direct. While I think 3 would make a great beer and pretzels sort of co-op game with infinite continues, I can see myself getting serious about scoring in 1.

Oh, and wearing the bones of my dead enemies in Monster Hunter World. A honest GOTY contender already.

Looks like I forgot to post what I'd be playing this weekend! Which is a good thing, because all I ended up playing was :

Over and over and over and over.

I’m in fighting game tourist mode lately but I’m really hoping to settle down soon. Reviewing these guys over the long weekend:

And a bit of RPG

Spoiler:

Guilty Gear XRd Revelator
Injustice 2
Shadowrun Dragonfall

Still on the Heroes of the Storm train, which leaves no room for anything else. This weekend- mostly running away from new OP hero, Maiev.

Favourites at the moment (in order from most attractive to least)- Gazlowe, Zarya, Jaina, Sylvanas, Li Ming.

Monster Hunter: World for sure, it's one of the most addictive games I've played in years. It hasn't been since the Diablo 3 expansion dropped that a game has occupied my time/thoughts this much.

Also picked up Shadow of Colossus remake so wouldn't mind playing a bit of that if I can pull myself away from Monster Hunter long enough.

Following the Olympics.

And play Civ 6: Rise and Fall

and

Spoiler:

Monster Hunter World
BoxBoy!

I believe I'll be primarily Rising and Falling, but there will also be some Originating of Assassin Creeds as I go for 100%.

Two planned games are Shadow of Colossus and Skyforce Anniversary if time allows I might try to squeeze in some racing games on PC. I'm also planning to receive my Rasberry Pi this saturday, so planning to try to make heads and tales of that thing.

I'll be splitting my time between Shadowrun: Dragonfall and Civilization VI: Rise & Fall. All turn-based, all the time.

I hope to get a bit of gaming in this weekend, but not a ton. For the blog, I plan to hit:

IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/259430/header.jpg?t=1447359164)

Plus, if I have time, for myself:

IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/219990/header.jpg?t=1507745184)

Which as me by the short and curlies right now, big time. Might also get some more time with:

IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/8500/header.jpg?t=1517329897)

As I've been having a blast exploring.

Should be a great weekend regardless.

Planned: Minecraft: Story Mode and God of War II

We'll see what else. Perhaps some more being awful at Quake Champions

Finishing another Endless Legend run through, then starting up Metro 2033 (long time pile sitter), Endless Space 2, and I can't believe I'm writing this: Close Combat 2. Thanks GoG!

Should start getting into the high rank stuff in Monster Hunter World, 2 colossi down in Shadow of the Colossus, and playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the first time.

Okay, so I think I'm finally getting into
IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/368500/header.jpg)
(took about 6 hours)

Also a bit of :
IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/22330/header.jpg)
Because I've finally crossed over into Shivering Isles, and am still as much in love as I was years ago.

Perhaps a bit of :
IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/420060/header.jpg)

Or maybe :
IMAGE(http://cdn.edgecast.steamstatic.com/steam/apps/676820/header.jpg)

In any case, should be fun.
