What are you playing this weekend?

Desperately trying to finish the Civ V game 3 competition before Dec is over.

Then maybe some CODBLOPS on xbox.

6 new 360 games sitting on my shelf and several new Steam sale purchases, yet I have a feeling I'm only going to be playing more Demon's Souls.

Yep.

I am really hoping that Cthulhu Saves The World comes out before the Christmas weekend is over. If so, that's what I'll most like be devoting my gaming time to.

I'll be playing the 'Don't be miserable because your loved ones are halfway round the world' game. This time of year cranks up the difficulty on it, too.

Well, that and Baldur's Gate.

Baldur's Gate get's more difficult the further you are from your family? I never knew...

As for me, I'm hoping the wife is feeling better because I'm wanting to get in some RB3 drums. Borderlands (360) will be my fallback game, unless someone throws me a Gears 2 invite.

Also, hopefully playing with a Kindle after Christmas is all said and done :D

Baldur's Gate is as hellassballs hard as it's ever been. Still love it though, even if I have to play with a finger on quicksave though

I think I'll be playing the following for at least a little bit over the next week:

1. Battlefield Bad Company 2 (I'm really excited for this.)
2. Just Cause 2 (360)
3. WoW (if Santa decides I was a good boy) Probably'll need a character transfer to find old wow buddies.
4. Some Borderlands to finish up the Mad Moxxi larger challenges (uggh. Its gotta be done.)
5. New Super Mario (Wii): There is no escape from the chaos this demands. We're trying to get all the star coins.
6. Kirby Epic Yarn (This is for my younger son, but.. if it allows for coop, I'll surely be on-call.)
7. Halo: Reach (Cause the kids enjoy gibbing their dad. Like r-e-a-ll-y enjoy it. sigh)

But my wife assures me, the absolute greatest game of all for this holiday season is the one titled 'Bathroom Wallpaper Removal', and its two sequels 'Priming/Painting' and 'Re-tiling'. Woot. Lucky me!

My Christmas weekend playlist is shaping up as:

"big" games:

Batman AA (almost to the Poison Ivy fight)

Lego Indiana Jones (arrives today)

Resident Evil 5 (not sure how much I can do, I hate the control scheme in this game)

quick and dirty games:

Lara Croft

NFS Hot Pursuit

Pinball FX2

Zombie Driver

Dirt 2

Work on a few more achievements:

Dead Space

PoP The Forgotten Sands

I might play:

Gears of War 2 campaign

Mass Effect 2 campaign (80% complete, I should get back to this)

Bioshock 2 (just got this in a steam 4-pack)

Happy gaming, and merry Christmas everyone!

Put that game out of it's misery already. I was so glad when I was able to put that away and not have to keep trudging through it.

Lego Star Wars & Kinectimals with the kid, Assassin's Creed Brotherhood & Metro 2033 when he's asleep.

Back into wow so a lot of that.

If I see a lot of gwjers playing Killing Flopped ill jump in. I only need like 2 million damage for berserker Level 6!

Trudging? Man, I've loved ME2 so far. I just got sidetracked

Agreed. Don't remember a trudge anywhere. I don't think I've played that much of a single player game in such a short period of time in years and years.

I've logged 35+ hours. It's one of my favorite games this year. I might just fire that up this weekend. I'm just starting the Shadow Broker DLC.

That reminds me, I still haven't played through Shadow Broker yet. Maybe I will play another game this weekend

I still need the larger angelic ruins so I'd run through some moxxi stuff with you if I'm available.

Yep, I played back-to-back-to-back runs back in the spring.

I got puzzle quest on sale and I already own the second game. Holy crap is the first game hard. The item creation and spell learning minigames in particular.

Also the computer is a cheating SOB. Sometimes there will be a match 4 available on the board. In PQ2 the computer will always snap these up. But in PQ sometimes the computer will make some random-ass match on the other side of the board. Which looks really stupid, until this massive 5 chain combo drops onto the board. The computer obviously knows whats coming ahead of time and I despise it.

The gameplay otherwise is pretty fun. There is a lot more to do that got cut out when they made PQ2.

I'm gonna get back into Fallout: New Vegas, for real this time.

Also, I'm one race away from finishing Season 5 in Forza 3.

Bejewled 3 has been sucking up a lot of my gaming time, and time in general, so I'll probably play more of that.

WoW if the mood strikes me.

And, finally, Pac Man CE DX if casktapper manages to get ahead of me on the leaderboards.

My casual/time-waster games are Drawn: The Painted Tower, Chime, and Desktop Dungeons.

Man, I just got around to trying Desktop Dungeons. This is a really fun little game, and free at that. I highly recommend people try it out, and go thru the tutorial. I am now hooked.

Btw, this is a 'short fix' game, so no huge time investment is needed, but you will need to be clever with your resources and abilities to beat the final boss of your randomly generated dungeon!

my weekend will probably be filled with WoW, as I ever so slowly progress my warlock towards 85, then probably playing my warrior when I wanna get close and smash things.

HoMM3, believe it or not. Started one of the expansion campaigns a couple weeks ago and still trying to finish it.

Also dabbling in things I've picked up via the Steam holiday sales, like Alpha Protocol and Evil Genius. Even started a game of WH40K:Dark Crusade, which I have played through to completion with every race on hard at least once, and some of them 2 or 3 times. That's one of those games I just keep coming back to over the years for some reason.

But mostly HoMM3.

So christams has delivered my playlist for the weekend.

NFS: Shift - this is the game I decided on when the recent arcade racrs dropped. These racers (NFS: HP, Blur, and Split/Second) were good, but didn't seem to quite nail what I was looking for. In researching, I ran across this game, that I missed when it was released. It'd my personal successor to PGR2, and it has been as great as I hoped.

Rock Band 3 - It's just more delicious Rock Band, and my wife and daughter are loving the traditional game with harmony.

Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood - Not sure how much time I will get on this, as my wife is in full Ezio mode right now. It's keeping everyone else off the TV (so I started Night Watch by Terry Pratchett, which I just received).

Kinect - My brother came through with a Kinect for the family for Christmas. I got it set up, and it looks like we will have just barely enough room. He sent Dance Central along with it. So I may head to Blockbuster to find another one to go along with it.

Halo: Reach - My brother also sent this along for me. I hope to get some time into it.

Did some shopping for myself earlier this week and almost grabbed this but ended up paying $10 more to get Forza 3. Forza 3 is just more fully-featured and it has the same great "ease you in" driver assist options as #2 did. That said, Shift is still on my list. Has the best cockpit presentation of any driving game out there bar none.

Going to be playing tons of racers (NFS: HP, Forza 3 & Split/Second) with the occasional Black Ops team deathmatch thrown in. Might play some stuff I grabbed from the Steam sale and of course the Mass Effect 2 Shadow Broker DLC is still sitting there neglected. (Doing that playthrough on Insanity so everything takes that much longer)

Thanks to Steam, this weekend is full of New Vegas

I ended up beating Dead Rising 2, and played a bit more Plants Vs. Zombies.

I bought DeathSpank earlier in the week, due to the "Buy 2 games, get 400 MS Points" deal they had going (which didn't work, because I didn't realize until after that you have to register for some stupid reason). I played through the whole game, but wasn't terribly impressed.

I've also been playing a bunch of Final Fantasy XIII. Mass Effect 2 arrived in the mail the other day, and I bought all the DLC, so I plan on starting that tomorrow, probably.

Can't argue with Forza 3. But there was just something lacking in it that failed to keep me interested. I just like a bit more arcade in my racer. Shift has been a good, if not better balance than PGR2. I can't tell you if the cars are realistic, but damn if every one doesn't feel different and provide different challenges. And that cockpit view is just amazing. It may not be as detailed as Forza or GT, but it is far more immersive.

I will keep Forza 3 more out of sense that it really is a great simulation and game. But Shift is what will sit in the tray most of the time.

Totally get what you mean. The best word to describe a game like Forza is 'austere'. It's austere as hell. Accurate driving sim with great features but also completely emotionless. Always need games like NFS or Blur to wash away all the hardcore driving seriousness

Spending time with family. Gaming? I guess card/board games and whatever gets played on the PS3, mostly DJ Hero 2. Have I mentioned that game's good? The family agrees.

When not at work, I kicked the boys butts playing Flux

Made some good progress in Daxter for the PSP. About time for the second boss.

Made it until about halfway through chapter 3 in Trauma Center: Under the Knife for the DS. That game is fairly easy most of the time until it suddenly throws a surgery your way that requires absolute precision and 10+ retries.

Finished 1.5 chapters in Dungeon Siege: Legends of Aranna - in other words, over 5 hours.

Not much time to play right now, but got some TF2 in. Just bought FO3 on Steam, but the game hangs all the time.
You would think those bugs are all gone by now.
Ah well, when I am back on base, I can download the other 80gig of games I still need.
