Cartoon watchers with jobs

Hey, Voltron Force on Netflix is OK so far.
My kids started watching it. I usually surf the iterwebz while they're veg'n. I watched this.
Only two episodes in so far though.

Can't say it had the same draw for me. It was alright, but not something I wanted to keep watching after 2 or 3 episodes.

Yet somehow I'm drawn to Ultimate Spider-Man.

Ugh that sucks. I think it had to do with the extended break. These networks should learn to manage that better.

If it wasn't for the break, this news would break my heart. It seems like at least half the cartoons I get invested in get a season or two. Spectacular Spider-man is my latest example, but that to do with rights management.

It's probably a relative measure. They've just gone through their Power Rangers phase, and I'm glad that I don't have to sit through many of those anymore.

The various Netflix Spiderman shows have been good. Some, well, one in particular, was a little too mature for the boys.

They won't watch the new version of transformers because my oldest is afraid of the Decepticons' fingers. I guess they have scary fingers. Seems like one of those details you latch onto then have abstract nightmares about.

Holy cow! Epic Star Wars and Green Lantern eps today.

Processing...Processing...Processing...Processing

Gives me chills just typing that!

So there's this new cartoon on Disney XD, only started a month ago. I skimmed, so this might have already been mentioned, but it's called Motorcity and it looks awesome. At least, from a style and technique standpoint it does Has a Venture Brothers-meets-Gorillaz-meets-Brütal Legend vibe going on. I haven't had a chance to watch the actual show yet, but judging from the bits in the animation breakdowns in the link, it looks pretty damned solid. Just thought I'd share for those interested in what goes into animation. Their blend shape facial animation technique is particularly awesome-looking.

I feel like we need an Adventure Time thread. Is there one?

Well anything will look good after power rangers. How that franchise still exists is beyond me. How people my age managed to watch it (I unfortunately did, too) is also beyond me. The Animaniacs spoof episode is hilarious because of it, though.

No but I love that show And Regular Show!

More great episodes for Star Wars and the DC block. Shame DC is getting cancelled.

Also, Wordy, waiting for some good AT and Regular Show discussion!

Did they ever say that the leader of the ?Guardians? was the kid's father on Sym-Bionic Titan?

I don't recall the guardians but they had episodes dealing with the fathers of each kid.

What I mean is that they were setting it up so you could see it coming from a mile a way that the boss of the guy in red was the scientist leading the wormhole mission, i.e. male protagonist's father. Or at the very least, the ones with the advanced tech on Earth were from the same planet as our heroes.

And so the last hurdle for Anakin losing it all is gone...

That's how Young Justice ends?

How do you just up and end that series?

UGH.

On a much happier note, Netflix has had so many freaking cartoons added I can't really list them all, but we've got Justice League (both of them!), 1st season of Ultimate Spider-Man, and even the first season of Adventure Time (and other old CN favorites).

Yeah, it's a shame Cartoon Network seems to suuuuck at releasing DVDs and Blu-Rays though. Adventure Time only has one season out with another coming next month, but it's on season five right now and no plans for blu-ray. There's no blu-ray release for Young Justice and probably never will be. And Aqua Teen Hunger Force only has, what, one season of it on Netflix? That's been running like ten freaking years at this point.

Cartoon Network got the one series I cared about most on DVD. Samurai Jack. Season 1 is also on Netflix streaming now.

Adventure Time is available in HD on Amazon though.

Justice League Flashpoint is great. I thought it was the best of the DC animated movies. The tone is very dark so you might want to keep the kids away from it. So many people die in this and get maimed. Lots of heroes and villains show up and a couple from other companies. Aquaman is actually badass in this. Wonder Woman is ruthless. Batman is different. All around great stuff.

Baron Of Hell wrote:

As is The Joker.

I checked IMDB and at least Kevin Conroy Batman is there in some capacity. Haven't seen it yet though.

Kevin Conroy Batman is the definitive Batman.

Season 6 of the Clone Wars is done. They will release the episodes sometime next year in the US. Germany is getting the episodes this year though.

I think it is all coming out on Netflix on the 7th.

Holy boly that is good news.

awesome, haven't watched netflix in a while

My sister has just recently put me onto Avatar. I was vaguely aware of it for years but had no real interest. I love mako so it gets points for having him in it.

I'm halfway through season 2. It dips a lot around the end of S1, but i'm really loving S2!
