By the way, the answer to the question of who does Rick kill at the meeting in the Ultimate Quiz on AMC's website is Pete. So I guess that makes it official.

Thanks... but... now you killed the anticipation!

Shouldn't have been anticipation, it was pretty clear to me and my wife that he shot Pete.

Spoiler:

I'd been expecting Nicholas to kill Glenn the last couple of episodes. Not sure how Glenn got out of zombie pile-on, but he's killed zombies while tied to a chair, so I can accept it. That's twice now that Glenn could have killed him and didn't.

Pete needed to die, but they could really use a surgeon ( the only reason Carol didn't kill him). Better to keep him locked up away from booze and his wife. They really need to build some holding cells to deal with situations like that. Oh wait, he just killed the architect.

Yeah, that would be so good. The inhumane way of surviving as a human. It seems to me that this is what the whole situation is about.

Keeping Pete in a cell except when they needed him to operate wouldn't have gone well for them. I wouldn't have put it past him to deliberately botch any work he had to do on any of Rick's people, or possibly attack whoever was guarding him the first time he got his hands on a scalpel.

I want to know how he got it. Last we saw it, it was hanging on the wall of one of their two houses. I'm fairly certain Michonne and Rick are in the same house, and Carl was staying home with Judith.

I was more thinking of the fake persona she gives to the group, the constant lying, and that bit she gives Rick where she condescendingly calls him "sunshine". I feel like she moved from being a person who has been through a lot and is justifiably suspicious to being extremely sociopathic in this episode.

I don't think how she's been acting to the Alexandria people is any different than how she acted to everybody when they were in the prison. The difference is that she now feels comfortable being herself in front of Rick & co., so we get to see just how scary she can be.

I'm in! This is going to be a tougher story to tell, but I can't wait to see the early days of the outbreak.

The trailer looked good to me. I can't get enough of zombies and vampires. I'll be glad when Z Nation and The Strain come back.

I might watch this. I fell off of the the Walking Dead over a season ago because I was just in a place where I couldn't deal with it. Too intense at times and a little too gross for my, at the time, weak stomach. It didn't help that I was growing tired of the Governor as portrayed on TV.

That's not the case right, though (the weak stomach, etc.). My current state plus a welcome break from existing characters might be enough for me.

These first 2 episodes exceeded my expectations. I was feeling a little burnt out on the whole zombie survival genre and passed on the spin off show entirely. I was going to pass on this season too, or let it sit on the DVR for awhile, but I'm glad I didn't. These first 2 episodes were great. Particularly tonight's. Very tense. The attack was spectacularly horrifying.

Agreed. I actually have all of FtWD on my DVR. But Talking Dead is so god, it made my wife and I a little more excited to watch the new season. And man, it came out of the gate with two intense episodes. It's been a nice balance of story and character development, which is insane considering the the amount of action packed into these two episodes.

And if you watch The Talking Dead, Kevin Smith has a pretty freaking hilarious way to describe the insanity of tonight's episode.

Weird, I've seen only the first episode, but it completely failed to grab me. So much so that I took 3 days to watch it, I kept pausing it to go do something else.

I guess I'm in the minority.

Holy crap! Smoking WILL kill you!

I love Carol to death. That is all.

Yeah, I liked the first episode OK, but it's almost like they were trying too hard. They set the bar really high for season premieres and finales now, and it seems like they're trying to top themselves each season. I think the second episode was much better.

The first episode was a little boring, but without it I think the second episode wouldn't work so well. It really is a great 1-2 punch... lets hope that 3 comes out to finish it off and then they mop up for the rest of the season.

Spoiler:

Really whats going to happen is they might have 1 or two episodes to clean up after the herd hits and then Rick will go for the wolves... if you've read the comics you know how that goes... :-/

I felt both episodes were pretty good.
This last one was crazy.

Morgan is getting on my nerves. I understand what he's doing and why, but I don't believe someone with that philosophy would survive for long in that world.

Also, are we going to discuss Fear the Walking Dead? Has someone set up a separate thread?

It was a good start, but i find it annoying that in a world that mirrors our own but with a zombies infestation that there were never comic book or stories involving zombies. Yea you're in shock and cant believe what's happening the first few times you're exposed to the new reality but to continually ignore it time after time is just stupid.

I was very pleased with the first two episodes. Episode one was indeed somewhat slow. However, it really wrapped up last season open endings almost entirely without taking 3-4 episodes of slowness that they normally have. It really allowed them to go right into episode two which I thought was a great mix of action/character development.

He's only recently come to that philosophy (since after Rick, Carl, & Michonne last saw him), and I doubt he'll be able to keep it long. He's already shown that he will kill if pressed.
I half expected him to get shot up by the woman Carol left in the armory when he walked into the building.

Someone set up a Separate thread.

I think Carol's a double-edged sword. She's obviously great at defending against outsiders, but the way she shot the tied up Wolf while Morgan and the preacher were getting information out of him convinces me that she didn't learn anything from when Rick exiled her from the prison.

I think that is just one of the reasons that Rick allowed her back into the group, Terminus notwithstanding.

Carol also let that woman get cut open because she put away her gun and decided on a silent kill instead.

Can I get a 'God dammit'?

God dammit. Kindness does not pay.

Mother f'ing god dammit

Well I think I may be done

The first episode was slow I thought and the last two have been great.

I'm still not completely convinced what appears to have happened has happened.

thats even worse than if it did in my book

I don't think we saw what we thought we saw.

Spoiler:

Nick fell on TOP of Glen. It think it's his guts the horde are eating. Granted, this does not give Glen a lot of immediate options but I don't think he's dead yet.

Okay maybe I'm in denial but I'm happy here.

Nice going, Nicholas, you dipsh*t.

Are you kidding me!?!!?!?

Glenn does not get eaten by a bunch of Walkers.
He's got something a lot worse waiting for him, dammit.

Anyone else annoyed by the needless split up?
There was no reason to have everyone stay at the pet shop store wait for a few minutes instead of following Glenn and Nicholas, set sh*t on fire and keep running home.

Glenn better be alive.
If the Governor could survive and still sneak up on Andrea, I'm expecting Glenn to do the God damned same.

I don't think it's a spoiler to speculate that he might be alive but I doubt he is. Even if the guts did somehow mask his smell, he was screaming really loudly and long enough to attract attention.

I'll be simultaneously glad he's alive and disappointed at a deus ex machina save

It's times like this that I really appreciate the Talking Dead. It's nice to have someone talking me down.

I hope there is some sort of last minute save, but there is no one left to do it... and I don't see a way for him to get out on his own. I really do think he is gone though.

Freaking Nick... argh!!

Glenn is one of my favorite characters so I'm quite willing to forget any sort of miracle save. That said, if he's covered in guts it's Nick's guts not zombie guts. Being covered in (still) human blood is very bad. I do think it's possible that he's still alive. If Glenn dies I want a whole episode for him not a 10 second death.

Rick is kind of screwed, too. Thanks, Morgan.
