Was it just me or was the first time we saw some of the campers was when they died in the zombie attack?

It's like the log carrying people from Lost.

Awesome episode! That last scene was amazing.

Only one more episode this season :(

Isn't it a 6 episode season?

Well that last episode took a totally unexpected direction. I wasn't even sure at first when they came back from commercial break if it was the show or not.

Yeah, up until this point the series had just been extending and extrapolating events from the comics, but this is entirely new territory.

OH AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME.

Man, how great was that shot of the gate opening?

It was grating.

I felt the same way, didn't know if the channel got changed during the commercial break or what.

Interesting ending. Pretty intense scene with the sister coming back.

That scene was very I am Legend.

If we're playing that game, I get a Y: The Last Man vibe from the whole CDC fortress concept.

I feel like the show is heading into "Day of the Dead" territory. Hearkening to Romero (or at least his early stuff) isn't a bad thing.

I had the hardest time watching the scene of that woman using the pick axe on her husband. I was wincing and could hardly watch the screen. One thing this show does is really hammer away at just how desperate and terrifying this way of life really is.

The other think I am taking away from the show is just how great Jeffery DeMunn is as Dale. In fact, he is a huge improvement over the comic. In the comic, it's clear that Kirkman wanted the character to come off like he does in the show, but I always got a really creepy and negative vibe from him. But I think the character totally works on the TV show.

With just one episode left, it is going to be a long wait for the second season. The game changer they just dropped is going to lead into one heck of a cliffhanger, I suspect.

I am definitely ready for the grenade to come into play. I can't imagine them leaving that for season 2.

Well we already know the guy lost his freshest sample, and I assume it was the only thing that was keeping him going. I think from that last transmission we can all agree he was ready to just pack it all in so to speak. However, a slew of fresh "samples" walking up to his door kinda changes things.

I don't think the group is going to get the help they were looking for in there.

How are they samples if they aren't infected?
Do you mean you think he means to infect them and test on them?
How is 1 guy going to overpower like 15 people then to do that?

I think it's more likely that he'll ask (or force them into an ultimatum) them to go out and get him samples.

How are they samples if they aren't infected?

In the comic...

Spoiler:

everyone is already infected and they turn in to zombies when they die, zombie related injury or not.

Finally was able to catch up last night. I'm looking forward to seeing how this season ends. I'm also entertained by the fact that no one really seemed to care about Ed at all.

Come on guys, spoiler the sneak peek stuff.

Or maybe he just didn't want them to stop his suicide--or force him to share the booze.

I would appreciate this

I was under the impression CDC guy may have gotten infected when the corrosive chemicals burned through his glove, but they just sort of dropped that. I'll bet he's got a necrotic finger next week.

Agreed. WTF guys. How many times does it have to be said. Previews for the next episode are ALWAYS SPOILER TAGGED!

Yeah! Dog Pile!

The Greater Good.

Interesting episode.

Spoiler:

So did they not tie up the guy they left at the tree? It really looked like he was just sitting there waiting to turn. I was actually surprised he wasn't tied up inside the vehicle. That guy could possibly kill someone later and they could have prevented it. I'm just going to assume they tied him up.

Still feel like the CDC guy wanted them to leave because of what he might do. Seems like he was in shock and finding a cure was his sole motivation to keep going. He talks of suicide after going on about how he lost his last sample of fresh unnecrotic zombie cells. Actually sad they didn't bring the bitten guy with them... Maybe they'll go back for him?

Anyway the previews did look like he infected the blonde, she was naked and isolated. I hope I'm wrong though and he was just bogarting his booze :-p

Reflective vests huh....umm WTF was that all about.

I know if i was to post before watching an episode i wouldnt know whats been shown or not. Many of us have already read this and most of this is nothing new.

Hunters wear reflective vests so in dim lighting and deep brush they won't be mistaken for a deer. In this case, he was suggesting it (lamely) so they wouldn't mistake each other for zombies.

Of course, that's not what happened, he was just trying to cover his ass.
