Like to get a shot at any of above.

My desktop decided that it could no longer live with the dishonor of having outdated components and took the bold step of reclaiming its honor by committing seppuku this morning. I am therefore unable to raid as my lappie is barely able to survive Dalaran. I hope to have a new computer by Cataclysm but it is hardly a priority.

TrashiDawa - DK Tank
Tuesday & Thursday: 8PM
Saturday: Anytime
Sunday: Giants @ Seahawks!

zeroKFE (rDPS), zeroanne (very pathetic resto shaman)

Tuesday or Wednesday 7 - 10 PM -- only one of the two though
Sunday 7 - 10 PM

Most interested in Algalon or RC, but obviously happy to help with whatever we might do.

So I can not do Tues this week (hockey game). I just wanted to say, I respecced....regemmed...reforged... (i am such a noob)

Last raid (in ICC) I was doing like 4.5k on bosses...last night in 25 VoA I did 6.5k on the ice guy (which mean in ICC it will be way better) Haste for Enchancement apparenty is BAD...i guess I should have read up earlier... okay ramble off

Who: Openminded (shaman noob)
When: Wed, Thur, Sun Anytime!
What: Whenever is needed now that I am not as phail as before

No raiding for me for a bit. While on vacation I was a klutz and fractured my elbow. Get the cast put on later today.

2 Weeks off WoW to play Fallout: New Vegas is enough!

Elycion - heals
Weekdays after 7:30, open on Weekends.
Any content - no mob too trivial!

Ouch!

Anyway, usual week for me. 7pm+ any night.

Oooo Abana, feel better soon.

Abana, I hope you have a speedy recovery!

I sold my computer and am waiting on my new laptop to come in, but I hope to be back playing in a couple of weeks or so.

I'm not scheduling this week, so let me just say what Grinds is probably too polite to: I haven't the foggiest what to do with "might be able to raid on X."

Walanadorl should be able to raid on Tues and Thurs anytime.

Finial/Forshay: T, W, Th (one night). Most interested in Alg. I'm mainly raiding NaNoWriMo this week.

I only have Tuesday available this week. If we aren't using the LK raid ID on that night I'd prefer to sit.

I'm available...I think...everyday this week.

Belmirus, DPS Rogue.

Az mdps, Fed rdps/crappy heals

EDIT: Could do Wednesday this week. Willing to do whatever aids the guild the most - RS and Algalon are particularly alluring, I must say. Would want those on Az.

This week got a bit crazy, and next week will be as well, I fear.

I'll be transferring my mage over on Wednesday evening.

So I can raid on Wednesday or Thursday night of this week.

Not sure what his name will be yet, though.

I'm up for anything as long as it doesn't start before 8:00 server.

Tankspot's guide to Algalon.

It is very, VERY important that everyone have a firm grasp on the mechanics of the fight before we start since we only get one hour of attempts per lockout period.

We will discuss this a bit before our attempt, but this is not an easy fight. Do your research! I can handle people making mistakes, we all do it, but it isn't appropriate to unprepared for the fight. Know your role and what you are going to be doing in this fight. We get a cool reward when we down this sucker... title Starcaller.

So for at least one ranged DPS, probably a hunter, most of the fight will be spent managing the collapsing stars. Since the Tankspot video sort of brushes over the issue, here's a pretty good description I found about what that entails so that everyone can be prepared if they are called upon to do it:

Some dude on some forum wrote:

Hunters should be assigned to managing the Collapsing Stars - this is my job when we do Algalon and should be yours if you are the only hunter. These stars will appear 15 seconds into the fight and there will be four of them, they lose 1% of their health every second and when they die they create a black hole on the ground and do about 16k damage to the raid.

Your job is to manage the health on these so that they die in between Cosmic Smashes and also die away from other players. In 10 man, this usually means only attacking stars, all the time, pick one out the back, behind Algalon and attck it until it's dead, make sure you let the healers know when you're about to kill it so they are ready for the raid damage and again, make sure it is no where near the time Cosmic smash is about to be cast.

If you don't know, Cosmic smash puts a red fissure on the ground and will explode a short time afterwood, it does more damage to you the closer you are to it and will instantly kill you if you are standing in the middle of it however will always do some damage to everyone no matter how far away you are. So, this is why your job is the most important of all because if you let a Collapsing Star die at the same time, or close to, a Cosmic Smash then you will wipe the raid as the healers will not be able to keep up with two lots of massive raid damage.

Now, the otherimportant thing to killing the Collapsing Stars is that they create a black hole on the ground, these are used for two reasons, first is for when Algalon casts his Big Bang of which there are three during the fight, once you see him casting big bang, everyone needs to get themselves to the nearest Black Hole, you will be ported into another room filled with adds which you need to run away from while one person stays in the main room and cops the damage using cooldowns, or a spreist using dispersion. While in this other room however, you need to take note of where the other Black Holes where when you went down because once Big Bang is over, you wil be ported back to the main room automatically and if you are standing on top of another Black Hole, you will be ported straight back again and will die.

The second reason for Black Holes is to drop Living Constellations into, this will be the job of your OT while he is not tanking Alaglon and wil close the Balck Hole it is dropped into.

There are many more aspects for tanks and healers to consider however this is just what you need think about as a hunter managing stars. All in all it is a pretty simple fight if you get these things right, you just need the dps to burn the boss hard before your healers go oom, if you are getting to the third Big Bang then you are doing well.

That makes for all of six, maybe seven, attempts total.

To read about the encounter see here. (Less boss-aggro than a video ;))

Sorry Ely. Missed that. We won't pull alagon until 7:30. We will get the trash out of the way before that.

I attempted this the other week and some of the most common problems were:

1. People standing too close to the Collapsing Stars when they died and getting sucked into the resulting black hole (a big black disc on the ground) prematurely. When running from Cosmic Smash fissures (red swirling circles), make sure you don't accidentally run through the star that Zero is dpsing down in case it dies while you're moving through.

2. People standing too close (or on top of) Cosmic Smash fissures. They look like the OS blue void zones, i.e., a swirling circle, but are red. Call out if you see someone not moving from them.

3. People getting attacked in the black holes. Run away from the phantoms (Dark Matter) inside, kiting them if you can.

4. Dying. Try to avoid this.

You can read the transcript of the Tankspot movie on their forum, although it's a good idea to see the encounter.

I am only posting in this thread to make sure people are smart like Lawk and not dumb like myself. I did not notice a raid got posted for Sunday

See you all Sunday!

Yeah, I'll try to put together a calendar invite this evening to help make sure everyone notices it.

This is a central-time server, right?

Just want to make sure I'm on-time!
