Fable III Catch-All

OK, someone needs to tell PM that prostitutes are not just people with giant holes in their clothes.

Those male prostitutes are absolutely hysterical.

Disgusting, but hysterical.

Heh. Freehand tool grinding.

Oh man, the combination of huge twirly mustaches and the bum hole in the shape of a heart...

Fixed for possible NSFW

Fable 3 Prostitutes

And I've pre-ordered from Amazon. The 20 pre-order bonus is probably going to go towards dragon age 2.
That latest trailer tipped me over the edge. Damn you indie rock!

I got my pre-order code this morning for the village maker. You can try it out here but you can only add your custom villager to the game if you have a code. It's a cute little diversion, but I'm having a hard time seeing how it would add much of anything to the game itself. My character ended up looking remarkably like Kaylee from Firefly, actually.

I really hope the camera and framerate is better. Fable 2 is one of a minority of games that gives me horrible eye strain. I think the jumpy camera is the worst culprit.

I got my code too. Now I'm torn between making an interesting character or making one that looks like someone picked three items of clothing to which they wished to ensure access through the liberal application of murder.

I get the distinct impression they want you to create a custom villager who you want to sleep with.

Then how come they all look foot-ugly!?

Because that's Fable?

Where did you guys get your codes? I pre-ordered from EB in-store a couple of weeks ago.

Mine was emailed to me. I pre-ordered through Amazon.

Same.

That's a keeper

I know what you mean. There's a slutty response for every scenario question and sometimes two.

+1

Pre-ordered the limited edition by the way. I rarely get the special boxes but I couldn't resist this one. Not necessarily because of what it comes with, although the in game stuff should be nice. But because I adore Fable, blemishes and all. Plus I had the $20 credit from buying Reach hanging around. That helped too.

Hmm, the villager creator keeps crashing my browser if I don't accept the first round villager.

Oh, and Amazon > gamestop.

Kay, this whole villager creation thing is pretty confusing. The email I got says to enter my code on my 360, but it's not long enough. When I go to xbox.com and create a villager, I don't see anywhere to save it or enter my code. What gives?

Did you log into your XBL account first?

Yep. I remember seeing a spot to enter the code a few weeks ago before I had it, but now that I do I can't find it.

I'd help you out, but Microsoft's new Xbox site ate the village maker.

Does anyone have any idea if the custom villager actually does anything, or is it just a nice trinket? If they give you a quest or something, I'm interested. Otherwise, I might just give away my code.

They give you money and a quest I believe.

Can you murder them for their finery?

No clue, psycho.

So when I went at the village creator through Lionhead's site I got the screen where there are two inputs, one to create a character and one to enter your preorder code. Huzzah!

Oh. Wait. Neither of those buttons are doing anything. /facepalm.

Pre-ordered my copy from Amazon today. I was intrigued by the $20 gift certificate offer, but the $.99 release-date delivery (non-Prime members) pushed me over the edge.

Some people wondered if MS's recent flub of offering Fable II (digital) for free was a calculated move, but seems to have worked its magic on me. I passed on Fable II at launch and III wasn't even on my radar. After diving into my free copy of II, I'm hooked and pretty damn stoked for III.

Decided to go make my villager now. Followed the instructions to get to the site and... huh. I'm clicking the "create villager" button and nothing's happening at all, because Microsoft couldn't POSSIBLY use Flash, not when they have their own buggy knockoff, Silverlight. Figure maybe it's because I'm in FireFox and dust off the old IE.

But no, IE can't even log me in on the Live site. Worse than that, the error message it gives me is:

(Image taken after I'd logged in separately and it failed to search for Fable 3)

MS's crap product fails to work with another MS crap product and they have the gall to use it as an opportunity to advertise to me.

Yup. I just went to check out the new Xbox.com, and almost every link I followed went to that page. Recently played games? Oops! Friends list? Uh-oh! Marketplace? We're playing Halo, teehee!

Lobster, I had the same issue as you with the Create Villager button no longer working...This was in IE. I found the easier way to get to the site is via Lionhead, not xbox.com.

I hope they get this straight by next Tuesday.

The internet tells me that my problem is that the villager creator does not actually work, period. The recommendation has been to wait till Tuesday.
