Pinball FX 2

The free Pinball FX 3 client releases this week on Nintendo Switch and should come with the Sorcerer's Lair table for free as they have done on the other platforms. However, it is Pinball FX's 10th anniversary so they are also giving away the two table "Carnival and Legends" pack with the Switch client download this week. It can also currently be picked up as free DLC on Steam, PSN, and Live marketplaces if you play on any of those platforms. I don't know if it is currently free on their iOS client.

Crossposted to Deals, Switch, Pinball Fx threads.

Thanks for the heads up as well here, I would have missed the free tables otherwise.

Tables purchased on one platform aren’t automatically unlocked on the others, right?

Nope, with the exception of the Microsoft "play anywhere" where it unlocks on Xbox and the PC Xbox app.

All my previously unlocked 360 tables have unlocked on the XB1 because of my gamertag, but I can't unlock those same tables on my PS4 (if that helps).

It would be cool if they added some sort of universal login. Right now I own tables on the following platforms:

Steam
Apple OSX
iOS
Android
Xbox

I think that is supposed to be part of the Xbox play anywhere that I mentioned above.

As I recall reading, that will unfortunately never happen because each of the platform owners (MS, Sony, etc) each want their share of the DLC purchase price.

I’d gladly pay a discounted rate for the tables on Switch. They already have a Zen account, right?

So, I like Sorcerer's Lair and picked up the Star Wars The Last Jedi table but kinda hate it. Most of the action is on half a table while I like the feel of a larger play area.

Any recommendations?

The Bethesda tables are great.

I picked up Aliens and it's much more my style.

I'll give a look at the Bethesda ones. Skyrim seems to have a LOT of mini games, which is interesting.

I liked a lot of the non IP licensed tables. They feel closer to a real pinball experience. Excalibur is my favorite. Paranormal, Earth Defense, and Pasha are also great.

My favs in no real order are: Pasha, Empire Strikes back, Infinity Gauntlet, Hulk, Butters and Superleague.

My head and shoulders above everything else favorite is Fear Itself. This is a great table. Missions are tough but fair. Tons of modes. Timing the start times of the modes is critical. Modes offer great risk/reward tradeoffs. Sound effects are top notch. Even the gimmicky magnets rule.

Empire Strikes Back is very good too. Saving up modes and starting them all at once on this table is one of the most fun things you can do in a pinball game.

There really aren't any complete duds. Some, like Boba Fett, Han Solo and that Balance of the Force table can be punishingly difficult, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing.

Oooh, Pasha is the one with the genie. Ya, def gonna pick that one up.

Avoid Venom. It's almost a clusterf*ck how crowded that table is.

Well, the first set of Williams Licensed tables have appeared on Pinball FX3, and wow, there is a 30+ page thread post already on steam talking about all the censoring they did on the tables to remove:

suggestive or revealing clothing or body parts
blood and gore (and death?)
alcohol and drinking
smoking and tobacco references

from all the tables so they can keep their family friendly age rating.

Some tables did have a family friendly setting built into the game to hide anything gory displayed on the DMD, and that has now been turned off on the PC, but the artwork for all the tables is apparently going to remain altered.

As for my own opinion on this, I'll keep on playing the tables that I have in Pinball Arcade instead of double dipping but, I have to find it a little amusing that all of these classic Williams tables are getting modified in FX3 and then within the same pinball game there is also tables from characters, games, and movies of Deadpool, Doom, Fallout, Jaws, Aliens, and Jurassic Park.

Pinball FX3 is out, and they've acquired the Williams/Bally license. First batch of games is out now, with Fish Tales being free. The other titles out now are available in a $10 pack: Medieval Madness; Junkyard; The Getaway-High Speed 2.

I don't remember when I bought all my tables (FX 1/ Zen or FX2) but I definately owned Excalibur, Earth Defense, Mars, and Epic Quest, Wolverine, Spiderman as well as some others. They didn't import but 19 tables did. I googled and can't figure out why. I purchased them all on Xbox as well as other devices IOS / Android and would hate to have to do it again.

I just tried on Windows Store and Xbox and they want me to purchase them. I thought I remember almost all original tables importing into FX2 and I thought all of the non licensed, and most licensed, ones would go to 3?
