Penguin's Ohio S&T 10-23-10 (Reach, Mario Kart, Rock Band 2, Board Games, and Beer)

That would be the man, myth and legend that is the distinguished SuperDave.

The name, then, truly describes the man.

Now that I've had some time to recover, mental notes from the day, loosely in chronological order:

- Probs to Cheeto for giving me a ride out and back. We got the party started a little early with a nice present from the local authorities about half-way there. If he said he had a cloaking device on this cruiser I might have believed him; he came out of nowhere.
- Getting there right behind the SE Ohio crew and seeing the official S&T poster on the door as we arrive - things look promising.
- Nice little tour of the office from Oily, and it is already clear that Rock Band will be rocking.
- Scott Pilgrim is a blast with four people. Repeatedly picking up my fallen comrades and using them to bludgeon the enemy never got old.
- I didn't take part in the Halo'ing, but seeing four big screens, each rocking the 4-way split screen, was an awesome thing to see in action.
- Mother f'ing Rock Band setup. I think SuperDave and I had both blown out our voices singing by the end of the night. You seriously had to give it some volume just for the game to pick up your voice over everything else.
- Just meeting folks, talking about games, music, etc. You all were awesome.
- At some point there was the conference call, and then chaos in Pyro's "recording booth." There were literally c*cks being drawn on the walls during recording. Did I mention how awesome everyone was?
- DJ Incompetent, you seriously need to play some Street Fighter with us on Wednesday nights. I was pretty stoked that there was someone other than Oily and myself there that played. To everyone else, thanks for humoring me with my repeated attempts to egg people into playing the fighting games we had going.
- I will definitely be pacing myself a little better next time, as I was simply not coherent enough to play all the games I wanted to. Looking forward to next time.

Not coherent? We thought you were going to die.

Hey Guys, it was awesome to meet all of you I had an absolute blast. I remember being drunk as hell walking into the bathroom and hearing Lupus having what I will call trouble at like 5am. He really shouldn't have had that last shot considering he weighs like 15 pounds. That Rock band setup was defently something to behold although my voice still hasn't recovered.
Good Times

Yeah but you were drunk so we can't trust your judgment at all.

I know, that's what I'm saying!

It's bad enough my friends are posting pictures of me passed out, er, asleep with a shirt that's frankly, just not long enough =)

And you can tell I took being a host seriously because my pants stayed on all evening. That's saying quite a bit.

I, for one, was pleasantly surprised. Usually "time wearing pants" is inversely proportional to "amount of booze imbibed."

I am certainly glad everyone kept their pants on, it was a bit of a sausage fest and the "drawing dicks bonanza" room I helped instigate probably didn't help our reputation. But it wouldn't be a true GWJ S&T without some homoeroticism.

Yeah what happened to the female types who said they were coming? I'm looking at you Red Jen and Silly Rabbit.

Song: Maps
Artist: Surprise Sex Orchestra

Um, i'm going to edit this out Sunday but if anyone needs to get a hold of me on the way here, my number is EDITED FOR CONTENT

(please don't let anyone get a hold of that number who shouldn't have it, internet gods)

A bit of a sausage fest? It was 100% sausage fest. We didn't even get a female cop to show up.

At one point, Lupus, we were playing Blaze Blue and you were hunched over the fight stick, eyes closed, drunkenly pressing one button at random intervals. AND YOU STILL BEAT ME. ARGH! I also thought you were going to either going to die or explode in a glorious volcano of half digested pizza, chinese food, and alcohol. Thankfully neither happened.

I have to say that 5 Hour energy drinks, while tasting light flaming monkey ass dipped in crushed aspirin, really did the trick.

Also, DJ Incompetent; Your complete ass-kicking at SF4 while being so drunk you could not walk straight was something to behold.

@Oily: Did you find my carefully worded love note the morning after?

I did, thank you. I felt terrible that I passed out and missed a good part of your stay but like I said in the loathe thread... birthday shots.

At the time you passed out, the only thing that was going on was us watching IT Crowd, Disarang making a McD's run, and some preliminary clean up. And don't you say a bad word about birthday shots!

Bent, your letter was amazing. It nearly cured my hangover with warm fuzziness.

I would also like to formally apologize for contributing to pyroman being edited from S&T podcast. Somehow I shall make it up.

He was still walking like that the next day. So either he was still drunk, or that's just his normal gait.

And I missed the love note. In fact, I slept through most of everything that happened after 7:00 AM. A scan or photo of the note would be edifying.

I have it, i'll see what I can do.

Can you time stamp that pic for me? It is hard to focus on the IT crowd at 5am after 9 vodka Mountain Dews.... haha

Jeesh. And I thought the BSG game at 2AM was crazy!

We took it to the next level. Midwest.

After long and thoughtful consideration, I am happy to welcome Ohio as a member of the Midwest. I know your roads aren't always straight and your terrain won't always lie down and stay still, but we're glad to have you, all the same.

Oh, does "metal" mean passing out in the bathroom after I helped him find his sleeping bag because he couldn't?

Then, yeah. He is =)

Well my 360 gamertag is DJ Incompetent. I dunno anything about when or how you meet up to play, so you and O.Penguin just friend me up and harass me with messages when you guys are starting that up or if I need to clear room from my friends list or somethin'.

I dunno how the people communicate nowadays, so this be my twitter

I learned bein' hyper-drunk or in terror-hangover lead to the same walk. 'Some science for ya.

Eh-yo Life Coach!! Gimme some life advice!

Oily, you'll have to let us know how much money we raised once we...y'know...finish raising it.

Working on it now. We made over $500 from the posters but that doesn't include the cost of shipping. We also took in a little over $50 in cash from donations Saturday (not a lot, I know, we all got drunk and forgot). We did, however, still have some money left over from the money I collected from food, which manages to cover all the shipping costs Trueheart had. I'm putting a check out in the mail today for him and his company.

So... $500 so far. Certis said we could use the GWJ paypal account so our final donation to Child's Play comes from all of us, I think what I'm going to do is simply encourage people to wait and hold on to the donations they were supposed to make on 10-23 and wait for GWJ to do it as a community. The less time paypal has our money, the more sticks around.

The takeaway here is $500... GOO! I just checked. Someone passed out in the bathroom and donated $100.

We're up to $613 and I <3 you, anonymous donor =)
