GOG is gone (Ha, NOT!)

Yea, all the text is 100% Zork.

The stuff on the left about "work... day... decided... walk... center line... busiest street" isn't though. Not sure what that's from.

Also the weird way the "real" text like above are images overlayed on top of a fixed background makes me think they will change.

And this bit is from the original Adventure (aka Colossal Cave)
"You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike"

If they put the infocom catalog up for a reasonable price, I'm in.

WTHeck? Is that some sort of regular expression? Or is it just some designer leaning on the keyboard to obscure things and be cute? I haven't seen the code for one of these in forever.

And Zork, like AnimeJ said.

Nah, it's just random keyboard mashing.

Actually, I think it might be a representation of the VM code for the game. I note that the places with more weird symbols in that example are the spots where more logic is required to determine the next word for the output. (See the wikipedia entry if you don't know what I'm talking about.)

The programmer clearly wants to go west.

It's a Zork anthology, and Police Quests 1-4, with a promise of more Activision titles to come.

Kinda cool for the Police Quest stuff, as I bought a collection that had the same games more than a decade ago, and had trouble getting the older games to run back then because of the advances since their original release. Probably more due to Windows 98's crappy compatibility than anything else.

If GoG releases the original MechWarrior games, I'm gonna have to figure out a way to get a decent USB joystick in the vein of the old Sidewinders, with twist as rudder pedals. And given the other things they've dropped for us, I wouldn't be surprised at that in the least.

Anyone wanting to play the Infocom catalog can do so here.

I've still got mine; I fired it up for the recent free MW4 re-release. It is AWESOME.

An example of GOG being awesome: http://www.gog.com/en/news/to_all_wh...

That's how to run a business.
