Vindictus Beta

Still hoping for a key here, but if you want to keep it fair and do the first PMs you get sent that's perfectly understandable.

Okay, I'm in and I have two keys for Goodjers. PM me and I'll hook you up. Doc, if you don't have one already I'll reserve one for you. Let me know.

Doc Awk, How do you want the key sent? Do you not have access to PM?

Podunk took care of me, but thanks for asking.

If any one has an extra key, I'd love to give this game a try. Please PM me.

Not long till open beta, Oct. 13.

lord_haven, PMed you a key.

Just sent you my last key. Please share the two free ones you get here as well.

Between you and lord_haven, B.C. has just gotten preferential treatment.

One thing about the game I dislike is the lack of items you can use at certain levels. I really hope it opens up at higher levels but so far at 19 I'm not seeing it.

I've got 2 keys to pass along. Lacking a more equitable way to distribute them, I'll PM the keys to the next 2 replies in the thread asking for them.

If anyone still has an extra I'd be more then happy to take it.
Edit: Got one, I'll be happy to PM mine to anyone who asks.

There is a lot of key trading(AWESOME)but not much discussion about the actual game.

It's not an MMO. It feels very similar to Monster Hunter. I like it but I have major lag issues in groups and I'm hoping the gameplay get's deeper.

Gimme a key pl0x

You definitely want to maker sure the group leader has a decent connection, and everyone's got a decent ping to them. I played a map with someone in Alaska (and possibly still on dial-up)as the leader and it wasn't even a slide show. Sometimes it'd take over a minute for things to update on my side of things. I only stayed because we hardly took any damage due to all the jumping around we were doing.

For actual gameplay, it's got some of the F2P MMO tropes that kind of bug me (everyone looks the same except for height, hairstyle, and skin/hair/eye color, because there's very little to no variation in armor choices) but the combat is extremely satisfying so far. I hope that more combo moves get added in further down the line though.

I'm on the east server (as Tarantella and Stengah) if anyone wants to friend me up. Like most games, having a group of Goodjers doubles the fun.

As for key trading, I haven't yet received any of the extra keys it said they'd send me and it's four days since I activated mine. I opened a ticket with their support, and got a "We can't personally respond to every ticket we get. We added your issue to the support queue and are closing this ticket." I'm pretty doubtful that they'll address it before Open Beta starts on the 13th.

Vindicutus is a very typical Korean MMO. If you've never played one before, well, now you've played them all.

So all Korean MMOs are really 4 player action games with a town hub for match making? Weird.

Well just grabbed my key from the Escapist...it's a very interesting game...

Thanks foil

If any one still wants a key, I have 2. Post here, or PM me, if interested.

Oh, and go B.C.!

This is the newest trend of them definitely. The action part is a lot of fun though and the fact its done using Source engine is impressive.

The only thing that's really new about it is the low limit on players. Most of the others I've played had larger groups.

I don't think I've seen any korean-style mmo's that have this style of combat.
Edit - The early access beta just ended, and open beta won't start until Oct. 13th.
Edit Part 2 - I think last night's update addressed the a bunch of the lag issues, so hopefully they won't be as big a problem in open beta.

We get to keep our early beta characters!

We’d like to remind everyone who participated in Early Access that all characters created during Early Access and any leveling, skills, items, gold, or other statistics accumulated will carry over into the Open Beta and the game’s Official Launch.

Doesn't speak all that well of the game though, that I was dreading starting over so much.

Clicky grindfest? They're pretty much all like this. Some may look different, but check out Maple Story, Yogurting or Ragnarok for three of the bigger ones if you haven't played any of them; anything published by gPotato works as well.

I got in a lot of playtime, and it definitely didn't have that MMO feel. It felt more like Diablo with 2 classes. The one time I saw the option to join a group, I sat there for 10 minutes while the leader was apparently afk. Those of us that joined just destroyed this boat and everything on it before leaving and going our separate ways.

Open beta is here, for those of you that didn't get beta keys.

Launch Date is 10/27

So guilds are now available, any thoughts on a GWJ guild name?

Meow

Anyone still playing - tried this and it is fun. One the West Server - Khyron.

I'm still playing. I'm on the east server though. Tarantella & Stengah are my characters, and I've made a guild (a very creatively named Mercs with Jobs). The guild system is a bit backwards though, I can't invite anyone unless they're on (and I'm not even sure about that), but people can send requests to join the guild anytime they want (just search for the guild name in the guild menu, and send a request).
