Hidden Gems of Hulu and Hulu+

Finally finished Atlanta and now I am sad.

Just a fantastic show. Immediately added to my “Watch Again Someday” list.

Also watched Fleishman is in Trouble. It's about a doctor, recently divorced, trying to cope- and then it becomes more than that. It was very good, but maybe an episode or two too long, and hits a little too close to home (even though my life is nothing like the main character's) as someone over 40 and wondering what's happened to my life. Staring Jesse Eisenberg, but Lizzy Caplan and Claire Danes both have amazing performances.

Man, I loved Fleishman is in Trouble, but it seems like not many people are talking about it. It does hit very close to home for people in that stage of life. But it is fantastic.

Saw Claire promoting it recently and it looks good, it's on the list. But the list is long

I loved it also and was really bummed when it ended. But also was super happy with that final episode. Atlanta went out on its own terms and in a very Atlanta way. I'd love to watch it again, as I know I didn't pick up on 85% of what was being laid down. I didn't feel nearly smart enough for the show, but I enjoyed it nonetheless.

History of the World Part 2 | Trailer
*I hope this will be more than the sum of the parts because I smiled a few times but never really laughed

History of the World, Part II:

You know, even if this ends up not being the best stuff Mel Brooks has ever released, it's still good to see new stuff from Mel Brooks while he's still around to do it.

I highly recommend his autobiography, particularly the audiobook version which Mel reads.

He's 96, and obviously an absolute legend. This is must-watch regardless of quality or what anyone says about it.

I'm two episodes into A History of the World, Part 2 and...well, so far it isn't great. The first episode got one laugh out of me but a lot of it has just landed flat.

I plan on finishing it but I am wondering if I will ever shake the feeling that I'd be having a better time watching Drunk History.

The Boys is an Amazon joint.

Just dropping this here for us Yanks, as it is on Hulu not D+ in the US.

I enjoyed Extraordinary. It's sort of Misfits crossed with Derry Girls. Everybody in the world gets a superpower when they're 18-ish, except the main character is 25 and still waiting.

It's very sweary and rude, but sort of kind-hearted in the way Derry Girls is (deep down when the characters stop roasting one another and remember that they actually love each other) and Misfits is not.

Holy Moley - a cross between mini gold and Wipeout - pretty entertaining especially the commentating.

OMG History of the World.

I've needed new Mel Brooks in my life, I didn't know how much until now.

I ended up liking it well enough. I thought it was kinda uneven overall but there are some definite standouts. Any scene with Nick Kroll and JB Smoove in it together are gold and there is a standout sequence where Jason Alexander plays a role that would have been normally been played by Brooks and he absolutely nails it.

What bugs me the most isn't the show but that this was the first time in my life I'd ever heard of Shirley Chisholm and that is a god damn crime.

Does it get better? We watched the first episode and outside of a few throw-away lines found it... less than stellar. Coming from someone who ADORES anything Mel Brooks made previously.

Prospect is pretty good. A slow burn, tense, sci-fi adventure movie about prospectors on an alien world with Pedro Pascal.

Seen it when it came out. I liked it.

I've been watching Animal Control. I like it, it's nothing groundbreaking.

The guy who played Jeff in Community is still basically playing Jeff from Community.

The main romance seems to be the two goofy but nice characters, instead of him.

As something to watch during my lunch break, thumbs up.

Not sure where else to post.

I started a LOST rewatch a couple weeks ago. Read some articles breaking down the big picture and pointing out some places in the early seasons. I could only find a season 1 thread here. Maybe there was an 09-10 TV season thread where we discussed it more? But I can't find it

Anyway the first season is still amazing. The characters and themes are spot on. I know there's some misses like Eko and Walt due to real world problems. But I think a lot of things stick anyway. And of course Desmond is the best. I'm really enjoying the ride after so many years away.

Done 2 seasons in 2 weeks already. I remember the pacing sucks in S3 but streaming back to back will help a lot with that. Onward!

Desmond and Clancy Brown were my favorites.

Edit: I posted about a show in the wrong thread. Again.

You may want to look into “Chronologically Lost”. I’ve just watched the first three episodes so far but it’s pretty wild experiencing events in that order. Absolutely not something for first time viewers.

Yeah I found Chronological Lost from a link in one of the series of articles I was reading. And it looks like it was updated to HD a couple years ago. Seems cool.

I'm pretty sure I only watched season 6 once. Feeling like I should experience that again with this fresh viewing before I get too crazy.

Yeah I loved Lost when it first came out but S3 is where it lost me. (pun not intended)

This. First season was magnificent. Second, less so. I watched the third, but didn't bother with the rest.

Wow. S4 The Constant is the best episode of the show and one of the best episodes of any TV ever. Y'all missed out.
