League Of Legends Catch All

Gold 1, yeah baby.

Get to work, Fedora!

Seeing as your Lolreplay is apparently working crinkle, have you had any issues with it since the 3.5 patch. Mine refuses to launch a replay, saying "This replay is from a newer version of LoL than the version you currently have installed". I've tried one fix I saw online about manually moving the exe, but no luck. So many things I've wanted to record lately...

Lucker

So 3 games in a row now, last night I straight up rage quit over it, I am not ashamed.

But what is this obsession I am seeing of players going in alone or in twosomes, without wards to just f*ck around in the opposing jungle? At level 15 if you manage to get some wraith or wolves down, you are not doing much good when you could clear a lane or get a tower down, or maybe get some kills. After the 3rd time bailing out our Khazix top, I just stopped, no game should make you angry...when your wife can see it.

I aced the opposing team, a fresh Khazix decides not to finish off the middle inhib tower, and to kill wolves instead. I'm out. Our bot team of Varus and Sona would do it as well. Never figuring out the other team had warded their own jungle, the crafty bastards.

Jow was watching, he can attest.

I did want to mention, Lichbane can help the mana pool issues. The reason I went Seeker's then Athene's was to get some good, useful defense in there because Lux began wrecking house. Rylia's was next on the menu before I had enough.

If you can swing it on Gragas, Rylia's and finished off with a Liandry's Torment is potent. Your Q slows and burns people quite handily.

I was wondering what happened... One minute you were there and the next you were gone... I feel your pain though. I mentioned an Anivia game the other day, a game we were winning until three of us (myself included) got caught and wrecked by their already-fed Vi. As soon as we died, trying to head off foolishness at the pass, I typed in chat to the two remaining guys to play safe and just cautiously defend until we respawned to help. You can guess what they did... Started f*cking off in the enemy jungle, each by himself, getting killed 20 or 30s later and leaving the three of us to defend vs 5 until THEY respawned... That little exchange decided the game. I did not leave, but I wanted to.

Then last night's first game turned from a win to a loss when friendly Alistar, who had a bulwark and was really helping out, mysteriously left without disconnecting at the 45 minute mark. Took three more episodes of foolishness before I finally got a win.

I just don't understand how the game experience in solo queue is so consistently and predictably awful. Maybe its the skill level we're matched at?

Just right click it and do "Repair," and accept the version it prompts. Then it works.

MY CHECKERED PAST
I used to be a rager so hard in DotA. I'd quit a lot, yell at my friends in vent, and occasionally get really angry/frustrated/dickish. I made a conscious effort to get better about this, so I could really enjoy the both game and the people I loved.

MY MISGUIDED MATH
If you, Jow, and KG play together, and there is a pubscrubtrollleaver in the game, 38% of the time he's on your team (3/8), and 62% chance he's on the enemy team. It gets a little tricky if there is more than one scrub, but the odds are still greater he's on the enemy team. However, this will even out over 100 games, but LoL games are so long that playing 100 games can take three months. If you hit a few games in a row of your prescribed 38 sh*t games, you're gonna have a bad time.

MY QUESTIONABLE WISDOM
1) The more people you play with, the less chance some fool will be on your team.
2) Whenever you play a good game of League, take a moment to enjoy it. Sit at the score screen for a while, talk about the good moments of the game with your mates in vent, or post about it on here.
3) End the night with a win or good quality game. Even if you have another hour slot for another game of League, call it a night and end on a high note. Go to bed with your wife happy, not frustrated.
4) Try to remember why you are playing this game in the first place. I love the mechanics, but more importantly, I love the pride that comes with being an integral member of a team, I love hanging out in voips with people I like, and I like an activity where I can take a dump on a fool while drinking a glass of pepermint schnapps chilled with cubes of frozen coffee. If those good reasons you come up with don't outweigh your frustration, play something else.

What the hell are you drinking man!?!

Apparently pepermint schnapps chilled with cubes of frozen coffee.

I do agree with you Squee, I think queuing up duo or with a premade would be more fun.
I tried to get a team together last season but never got 5 people on.

For Jow and Myself, we know it get's better when we get past low level Silver. But f*ck is it bad at Silver V.

Dare I make a High School Sports analogy in this bunch?

Normally it's hot coffee with a splash of schnapps, but since it got so hot down here I've been experimenting. Cold coffee with cubes of frozen schanpps seems like a better ratio, but it doesn't look nearly as cool.

I'll be on tonight, let's grip and sip! Yank and bank! Tug and chug! Yoink and boink! Scoop and boop!

(You should come around more Nathanial...no one understands the stuff I quote during games...

Although to be fair, my acolytes just always guess Keats, which is right more often than I care to admit.)

Pretty sure we talked about that 100 pages back or so. Sometimes it is quote obvious that certain members of the LoL community never played sports and learned about teamwork.

We need a gamers with jobs lol podcast. Or I need to fix my lolrecorder so I can get you commentating over matches.

I'll try to mess with it tonight, maybe we can get some arams going. I would love a play by play breakdown of what was going on in your head during some of the crazy plays I've seen you make.

Well for me, it is a bit like when I was in little league, and I tended to be bigger than most kids in my league. I was 10 or 11 and I hit an in park home run, but the umpire called it back because the kid in right fiend was "not ready."

I was never destined for the MLB, but I was a pretty good ball player, threw hard and accurately from my position, had a good eye in the box.

But the analogy is that most folks need to slug it out for a year or 2 on the "scout team" before they get a chance to really play in a game. I feel like the first few levels of ranked LoL play is drudging through playing on the scout team, and just doing drills for a shot to sub or start regularly.

Got it, TOO EASY. Fear the 90% win rate Sona.

I spectated a GWJ match last night and may have yelled "HOOK CITY SON" to my empty apartment when Squee's Blitz yanked an enemy Cait.

One of my work buddies is trying to get me into LOL, but it sounds like you need to be as dedicated as an MMO to be any good at it. Would I be able to tip my toes in casually and have some fun, or should I just expect a long hard slog of getting my teeth knocked in before I can even be useful to my team?

I'm a level 15 noob and I'm having fun with it, even though pub games can be frustrating sometimes. It doesn't cost anything, so why not give it a go? If you do, friend me up and we can play some games together. It's a lot more fun if you're talking to at least 1 teammate.

I have played a TON of games and am still not good, but I enjoy it.

I'm more of a Williams Carlos Williams meets Baudelaire kind of guy.

Dat blind hook over the wall in the bot river after she flashed to escape? Yeah, tI was yelling stuff too. (Yes I remember every hook. I'm the Mayor, son!)

I would compare it more to a team based FPS like Team Fortress. Once you grasp the mechanics, understand some of the roles, see what fits you, you are good.

11-1-11 in my last game. tryndamere is easier than twisted fate.

This sounds like me... but I do enjoy playing on a team that cooperates... its a LOT more fun if you can voice chat with at least one team mate though...

That did the trick. Yay replays again~

So I am really pleased with how well the lantern is working on Jungle Mundo. Starting Madreds and Merc Treads gets you out to a significant defensive start. By level 6 or so you are nearly immune to CC effects if you took the extra tenacity from the tank tree.

It is amazing what warding does to the team effort. Last 3 games, the lanes have been doing a superb job warding. It it makes it very easy to go in to assist, to invade the opposing jungle, to help push a lane without jungle support (IE, opposing jungler is bot, help the top push the tower).

Hey GWJLoLers. Don't want to make this a "Hi, I'm new!1" post, but Hi, and I am (been listening to the podcast for a few months).

I'm looking for anyone who wants to play but doesn't mind pairing with a hopefully not that noobish noob.

I've played SC2 consistently over the past two years and have been somewhat heavily involved in that community, but I basically switched to LoL I guess in January. I'm currently level 25, and though I know I probably have a world of hurt awaiting me once I get to ranked matches, I generally do pretty well in the pre-30 world, and I think I understand the game well enough for how new I am.

Most of my friends who play either don't play very often or really only want to play ranked. So I thought I'd hit you guys up to see if anyone wants to just play for the funz.

Why no Princes? Or Knights? Why must everyone be a king?

Watery tarts and swords, man. It's the only explanation.
