League Of Legends Catch All

There are champs you see a lot 1-29 because they are in the champion packs. That is why you see so much Ashe and Yi. Any champ that costs premium money, or high IP you won't see too often.

What do pros know, anyway? If anything, it just means I'll still get to play him when I break out onto the scene.

Dyni wrote:

Edit: Ashe is fine and perfectly viable, I just think she's a strange champ for beginners. Graves seems like a much more logical beginner AD champ to me.

Ashe is 450 IP, and a decent way to learn the game: learn about laning, last hitting, positioning, working with a partner, preparing for team fights, etc.

Not the best ADC maybe but easy to obtain and good enough for non-tournament levels of play for sure.

Pretty sure she was the first champ I played, based on a friend's recommendation.

Also when you're learning the game, trying to last hit, playing a melee champ can be very difficult at knowing when to engage, when to run, and so on. Having that buffer of range, even though you're squishy, is just another good way to learn.

Btw, space marine skin for garen (steel legion) improves your gameplay. It's a proven fact that space marines are just better at everything. Let's face it, a guy spinning a sword at you could be intimidating, but a space marine spinning at you with a lightning sword is just down right scary

Intimidate your lane today, buy steel legion garen.

Ps: seriously riot should be paying me for that speel.

Once again, never said Ashe wasn't good. She's fine. I understand the pricing issue, but none of that changes the fact that she's actually a difficult champ to play well, even for most level 30 players.

She's the default champ because they made that awful tutorial when there were only a handful of champions in the game, but even then, Tristana probably would have been a better fit for beginners.

Complex wrote:

Not sure why, but I definitely read that in the Bioshock Circus of Values voice with the background jingle.

Edit: so bored at work today.

Ashe is usually played alot pre-20. This also happens to be when there is no jungle players and most mids dont roam. In a lane where someone has to come in front of her she can kite forever Ashe is a beast.

In the meta, much like any character in the game, if played well she can work. I just think her kit just leaves her with a weaker laning phase. Survive till 6 get a good engage and get ahead then keep it rolling. Down early its hard for her to come back because of her lack of steroid.

Here's something I don't get: in almost every pub game I play, there are usually 2-3 melee champs picked, and usually they are mediocre to bad. Supports? Tanks? No way...who needs them? It just gets tiresome after a while with the same lineup: Yi, Tryn, Xin, etc., especially if they are sub-par. And in one game, during champ selection, there were four melee champs. I objected, was told to screw off, and I did.

Hence the formation of my no play list.

I would rather log off for 5-15 minutes than suffer a fool. Plus it can often take over an hour to lose as I learned last week. At some point my wife mentioned something about lancing off something from my face, and that sounded more fun.

By and large, it is because so many players even into level 30 play, only can play 1 champion 1 way. They might have bought only 1 or 2, or just play 1 dedicated champion.

Something to try would be to get into the Draft Queue for Summoner's Rift, or Twisted Treeline or Dominion. TT has a much smaller group of viable champions, as Complex and I found out last week (hoo boy). Dominion and TT also have the advantage that stalemates are nigh impossible. I do not mind losing, so much as it taking 90 minutes of my life.

I think I am about done solo queue for SR.

See? You just think he's easy. You never hit R first, because casting one of Ryze's spells decreases the cooldowns on all the others. Knowing how to stagger your spells properly and maintain casting discipline during a crazy fight is very important to being a non-nubsauce Ryze.

All I saw was "There is a lot more to playing E Honda than just mashing punch."

Found out? Tt has always been selective on champs even before the rework. I don't remember our game, but usually bruiser is the way to go. Darius, sion, garen, singed, lee sin, jayce, are some off top of my head. Lack of ward's and oracles make teemo, shaco, twitch, and Evelyn mean.

Simple answer: kills. Many people play bot games to feel good about the game, for the score. Melee bruisers are good at getting kills without dying. Sure an ad carry could get more kills, but also requires a little skill to not get killed. Melee champs have naturally higher defense stats. The three you mention are designed to run in and kill and live from it. All three have a heal ability.

And all the champs you mentioned are snowball pubstompers, which have always been popular when facing newbies. At that level of play, as long as you outskill your lane opponent with those champs, you can solo carry your team to victory.

We can frame this particular slap fight in so many different ways. What is "sub-par"? How do you define "fall off"? What is your favorite buff? (red, no... blueeeeee...) What is the average airspeed of an unladen Corki?

Please. There is very little slap fighting here. It's a bit of terrible advice giving, a bit of Complex theory crafting bad ideas, and some attempted correction of the aforementioned advice and theory craft by Crinkle, Cathadan and myself. A good mix, to be sure!

Don't tell me you don't love reading this thread, carrot. You can't fool me.

How accurate is dyni's data? Has he asked fuzzball to read the data to him over Skype? What does some random LOL "caster" say?

Absolutely none of space marine garen is theory! It is 100% American truth! If you do not agree you are a terrorist.

Apparently so are people who ban garen on draft games, like shynex.

America!

I don't play Garen. I don't even like Garen. However, that skin was amazing so I bought it. Now I play Garen =)

And remember kids, this is coming from someone who plays GP as an ADC. So if someone like that has trouble in solo queue, imagine how bad it is out there.

You're right dyni, I love watching a good slapfight.

He is usually relegated to Jungling these days. Typically when we have tanks top and bot already. Once in awhile he gets to hang out on top.

I have been carrying TF or Kogmaw lately; Urgot when I want to troll. But most of the time when I carry, it seems the rest of the team has a learning disability. Urgot is cheeky.

I was expecting "On EUW or NA?" but I guess that will have to do.

PSA: LOTR Guardians of Middle Earth (a recent console MOBA) is free for PS+ members starting tomorrow. It looks well made, and I'll probably be trying it out later this week(end). Anyone here to join me?

It looks like baby's first MOBA. Guessing it will seem very shallow after so much DotA and LoL. I'll give it a shot for free though.

Luckily Blitz is the best at slap fighting.

In other news, every one knows this is the greatest thread. Carrot just loves stirring the pot. Otherwise Dyni is absolutely correct with his post breakdown. Do work my sons.

I am a nubsauce ryze, and haven't quite gotten the stagger down yet. I had the same issue when I first tried to start playing lee sin.

Absolutely right, you are like a drunken father who is never around and leaves us alone at home when he needs to go drinking with his buddies ( acolytes).

Can I run away from home? Or at least get a better allowance.

Tough day at work brings out the bitter complex also I won't be on till late tonight, don't all rejoice at once.

If I remember correctly from the conference call it's the blacklight retribution community play thing tonight. So Both me and complex won't be around, double rejoicing.
