I don't like listening to many interviews or speeches or much of anything sports stars or players have to say, but the MLB Hall of Fame induction ceremonies I would listen to even if I didn't know who the player or manager was, or was even alive when they played. Listening today to Whitey Herzog's speech was awesome, especially when he is almost finished and starts calling out to his family, wondering who was there, thinking everybody was there, remembering his marine grandson flying in from Okinawa, etc. Phil Rizzuto's speech where he seemed a bit confused or excited and he just goes on and on about baseball and life and Cora. Andre Dawson reminiscing about his Mom and how she promised him he would be a great player and the hall of fame would come. Cool stuff, someday I'll have to travel to Cooperstown to check it out.
