NCAA Football 11 (XBox 360) Online Dynasty Signing Day - DSGamer Edition

Out of town for funeral, but will setup to roll Sunday.

I accepted the invite. I'll do recruiting either tonight or tomorrow.

6 down, 6 to go!

I'm signed up and ready.

I'm in. I picked up Houston. I wanted to stay with a Texas team, but I figured Tech was too high. Houston was ranked this year, but I'm pretty sure they're not a credible threat to dominate the league.

I am in, went with Ole Miss. Also seems pointless to try and go more then one season with all the reports of broken features.

Yeah. Hopefully (wishing big here) they patch it in time to run another league.

DS:

Any word on schedulr changes? Is that something you can do now or do you have to wait until the league advances?

I'd like to wait until everyone is in. We can start talking about it, though. I've been busy the last few days, but everyone can see the schedules and we can start talking about how many free spots there are, how many games to schedule, etc. I have an idea of want I want to do, but if we want to get a head start on it that would be the place to start. Otherwise tomorrow I'll jab the people who aren't in yet and once I know who's in I'll look at reworking the schedules.

Going through a small number of seasons may not be so bad. Let's see how it works out for us before bailing on the idea.

I want to try it first. If it goes funky we can always kick off another season with high-ranked teams or pile into the same conference or some other format until EA fixes it.

Ha -- DS, I just noticed through a board somewhere that they goofed up ND's schedule, changing an away game to a home game. Given the importance (it seems) of homefield advantage, perhaps you could change my game against Michigan State to be away. I've otherwise got 8 home games and only 4 away. Army may be treated the same way -- the game is actually in Yankee Stadium this year, and it may have put it at ND. I'm happy to have that in West Point if it's convenient.

I don't know how difficult it is to rearrange these things, so feel free to ignore these requests! That Army game, in particular, could be a good one into which you could slot another human player if we change things up.

So, I'm beginning to think that the decline in mean team ratings over several years of Dynasty mode is a subtle attempt by the developers to comment on our national athletic prowess. I think this is really just a biting satirical commentary on their part, projecting our national decline into a too-large-of-waistline country, as reflected in a paucity of high end athletes. I imagine that the crowds in these virtual stadiums grow larger with each year, too (and not in a numerical, number of tickets sold sense). As such, it should really be seen as a more-than-slightly devious take on the US. We shouldn't criticize it for ruining the immersion in a realistic simulation of college football, but rather we should applaud its social criticism and the developers' courage for including such a critique of our plight. Especially since this could be a warning of our coming catastrophic drop into physical mediocrity.

Or....

The dynasty functionality is broken.

"LOL!"

Typed for irony at previous posts.

I'm trying to finish my first season of my own personal online dynasty right now. I can't upload data to the NCAA servers. They're down or the networking code for this game is broken. Ugh.

Still can't finish off my season. Has anyone else been able to finish an online dynasty?

EDIT: Finally got past the end of the season. Now the game keeps crashing my entire system during off-season recruiting. Bravo, EA, bravo.

EDIT 2: Restarted the 360 and now I can't get into the Online Dynasty (my personal one again). *sigh* "Unable to continue online dynasty at this time".

How does EA manage to fubar every single year in some fashion?

Anyone know if there are commish functions available online? I'm trying to mover my personal Online Dynasty forward and can't. I'm trying to figure out if this even works.

Not sure why that happens, but I did find out what it meant when it says that stats won't upload.

I haven't tried a second online dynasty. I am working with the one that is offline. 3 wins and 4 losses playing as Air Force. I was up 10-0 on the 11th ranked TCU. They came back to tie it with 40 seconds left. I figured I could run a couple of options plays and maybe get into field goal range. Well, the LB got in between my quarterback and running back and caught the ball in mid pitch for a fumble recovery. They milk the clock and hit a game winning field goal with no time left.

That's a different bug (in case you were replying to me). The Season Showdown servers are crashing and EA took them down. That's what happened there.

DS -- How many online dynasties can you commish? I saw something about being able to pay money to run up to 5 dynasties...which made me wonder if you would have trouble running a personal one and the one for us.

I don't know that it's us. I paid for three so I could run my own online, run one for testing out issues and then run the GWJ league. So far I'm not impressed. Corrupted dynasty file (I had to load the file manually and create a new dynasty with my old personal file), server issues, etc. It sucks. I have about 60% faith we'll be able to pull this off, but damn I'd love to buy a copy of NCAA someday that just worked.

I need to poke around my league to see how bad progression is. Anyone curious to check it out go look at DSGamerishOD3. I think it's public. I'm looking around for weirdness of my own. Haven't seen anything striking save that injuries are WAY too frequent. I lost my starting QB, HB, TE for all season. I lost my best WR for most of the season.

Then the fill-ins played excellent. The HB going for 1000 yards, the TE catching a ton of balls for over 700 yards and the QB throwing for over 2600 yards and becoming a pre-season All American. The progression wasn't what I would have hoped for, but not too strange.

Man, they think Jacquizz Rodgers is really brittle. He got injured in the first quarter of the second season and I told the computer to rest him. He was in the game a quarter later and got injured again.

I guess the "story" of this season is Jovan Stevenson's rise to prominence.

Missing gdawg, frankie and Legion. Are you guys in or not? Want to get the custom schedules going.

Frankie told me the other night he had decided to pass.

Thanks for letting me know. That means there's room for someone else and that we need to see if everyone else is in.

You know, if we don't get absolutely everyone signed up very soon, we should just start. Can't folks hop into the dynasty later, ala joining the Madden online franchise a week or two in? If we don't start, we're likely to lose momentum or get cannibalized by other games.

I agree. Can we put some type of deadline in the kick this off? I am fine playing with 11 or 10 people or with whatever we have. I just want to kick this thing into gear!

I thought I was in. I accepted the invite a few days ago. Hmm...just tried to login online and it says I haven't joined. I'll redo it again when I get home tonight.

I wouldn't mind playing Rutgers in one of my non-conference games. Took some classes there years ago. Nice campuses.

I wouldn't mind losing to..............errr, playing Shonuff You can swap Navy out for a matchup with Northwestern.
