Trine 2 Announced

*opens wallet* Just take my money!

Wow, that looks really good. I must finish Trine 2. Might do that this weekend.

ARISE THREAD! So just bumping this for anyone else like me who got this during the XBLA sale this week. I think bonus and blind both were interested in some co-op action, as am I. Figured I'd put this in the official thread so we don't get lost in the Video Game Deals thread.

The first 15 minutes of gameplay in the demo sold me on it immediately. Felt like a cross between Portal and the Lego games, where you're figuring out environmental puzzles to progress, but get access to all the different characters and their powers to solve them.

Yep, still down. I'm free most weekdays after 4:30 eastern and after 2 or so on the weekends, though the latter fluctuates.

Has anyone tried the goblin menace expansion, and is it worth getting in the sale?

I had bought this a while back on a steam sale and just downloaded and started playing today. I'm getting a strange bug where my achievements are coming through in Finnish (according to google translate). Steam is set to English and the game is in English so I have no idea what could be causing this. All my Trine 1 achievements show up correctly. Very bizarre.

Try setting your language in the game properties to something else, then back to english and verifying files.

Wow, that worked. Thanks!

Is there any hope that the Trine 2 Goblin Menace add-on will make it to PSN?

Easily worth it as it has some incredible, incredible environmental artwork and the puzzles are harder than in the vanilla game.

Goblin Menace is great, and now includes a 7th level which is unlocked by finding the secret chests in the other 6 DLC levels.

The reason for this resurrection, you ask? Well, I'll tell you! I just completed every achievement in the game, which means I also completed all 20 levels on Hard + Hardcore. THAT SH*T IS ACTUALLY HARD.

Okay, I'm done.

(super satisfying, though)

I just finished up the DLC a couple nights ago with Dr Awkward. I'll have to say that it's one of the best pieces of DLC I have played. It felt well put together and nothing in it seemed like it didn't belong. The last fight had a part that almost made me rage

Spoiler:

if you jump or get stuck on phase 2 of the boss fight under the goblin's gun when it's raised, the gun can come down and crush you instantly. Knock me down or something but not a 1 hit kill. Sometimes I am trying to avoid stuff up top, the gun came down, and I had no time to run anywhere.

Other than that it was awesome I haven't laughed that hard at a game since co-op Saints Row 3. Also, I'm sure we came up with some really out of the box solutions for some of the puzzles.

Finished this up last night on 360. I know the Goblin DLC isn't available for the console, and frankly, if it was, I don't think I'd be getting it. I had fun, it looks gorgeous, but I felt that some of the puzzling was a bit too obtuse in some parts, and relied a bit too much on very precise timing/platforming for my tastes.

I dunno, I guess Portal/Portal 2 also relied on precise timing/platforming too, but for some reason I never felt like it was a chore from time to time like I did with This.
