NCAA Football 11 Catch-All

Pages

Not really sure this needs a catch-all, but what the heck. the demo is live and I have to say it is pretty freaking great. I played two games, and it is pretty much a day one purchase for me.

It feels great, looks great, and the new presentation is done very well. It may keep me from buying Madden 11.

Subscribe.

I haven't bought an NCAA over Madden in years (I have a rule to only get one) but I'll be curious to see what y'all think.

Yeah, me too.

I haven't turned on the 360 to play anything other than an occasional demo since building my new PC in December. I'm definitely itching to get some good football in, and I've always liked NCAA over Madden, here's hoping it is a quality product.

I just saw that the demo was available. I haven't had a chance to try it yet (at work now) but wondered if anyone here has seen it?

This has been my most played game recently. Seriously. So much so that I'm considering going against what I said earlier, selling RDR (just don't have time for it right now) and picking up NCAA 11. I much prefer the NCAA games to Madden and this year's is looking REALLY REALLY good. I have had a ball with it. Especially because there are no longer linebackers leaping 10 feet in the air to pick off long balls. I'm impressed with it and depressed that it's going to cause me to break what I figured would be an easy boycott of the "$10 Project" EA Sports games.

There really is a lot to like about NCAA 11. The missing Leaping LBs being one of them.

I will have to look and see what kind of online dynasty mode they have. It could be a really fun alternative to the Madden series. We might even get Legion to bite if we let him take Fresno St.

It will be a day one purchase for me, regardless. And I'm just looking forward to playing with the Jayhawks!

Last year I played that game more than practically any game that came out. 3 straight seasons in a dynasty with Oregon State, then I made a rough version of my old college team in the TeamBuilder and played them. So it was a great SP game for me.

Assuming I get it an online dynasty would be the icing on the cake.

Fresno!

I need to go give the NCAA demo a shot. I skipped last year after dissatisfaction with the previous few years.

That'll work. Thanks.

BAM! Ordered. Is it too early to call Longhorns?

Can I take the Delaware Blue Hens?

Okay, if people are going to start reserving random teams I guess I better lock down my Oregon State Beavers now.

I'm not partial to who I get, as long as I don't get stuck with the Delware Blue Hens, lol. With that said, is anyone looking to run a GWJ NCAA 11 (360) league?

I'm happy to do it if no one else would prefer to do it.

I need an NCAA 11 cover with Ryan Mathews on it.

How long before we can custom order our own covers? I mean, it's only a matter of time, right? If Google can engrave a phone for me in 1 day then certainly EA can box up a game with 1 of 120 players on a custom printed game cover. Surely there is at least 1 graduated player from every college that would love the chance to be on a game. And certainly EA could throw them a little change to make that happen and not break the bank.

Pretty sure this is why you *won't* see that happen.

You can find most major programs represented on Operation Sports.

Edit for more.

Found one in that last link.

Oooh. That's awesome. Now I just need to figure out what stock is used for the covers along with finding a cover for the Beavs, preferably with Jacquizz Rodgers.

I want one with...

/attempts to think of a single noteworthy SU player

//fails miserably

...well, at least i'll get to see if we're rated lower than a C+ this year.

Sounds great, if you are willing. I'm in for Kansas.

Can we keep this league exclusive to GWJ members (IE: no Grinders, and preferably Goodjers that have posted in more threads that don't have Madden in the title than not) only? I can find plenty of leagues if I want to play with random internet guys.

Now to find a Todd Reesing cover...

You know how I feel about this stuff. I'm not exactly an evil overlord, but I like good leagues. So anyone else is welcome to start a league, of course.

However, if I do indeed start a league it will not include grinders. It will include people I know or people that I know can vouch have been hanging around here enough to understand what we're about. And I reserve the right to boot / exclude anyone who I think will / has been cheesing in NCAA or in other games in the past.

So yes, it will be a good league, I hope.

I don't have all kinds of time on my hands right now, but if you guys were doing a league I'd be interested. Even more so if it was a league of not so obvious schools (Like no top 5 or top 10 schools; maybe no schools with a grade of a B or higher; or maybe choose a non-BCS conference to pick from). I think at this point I'd get more enjoyment out of playing with UCF vs. Goodjers than say my obvious first choice of UF.

My availability is kind of limited though. The earliest I can probably play at the moment is about 10pm EST.

That's the challenge of an NCAA online dynasty, honestly, having been in a couple. The best ones are the ones where you pick a couple of super conferences and everyone divides equally in those conferences. When you do this it guarantees you play people and it leads to some awesome statistical competition.

Second to that is what you're talking about, IMO. Everyone takes a Boise State, USF, Utah, Oregon State, etc. Mid level teams that could break through. I'm starting a league. If people want to join I leave it up to you to decide how you want to roll. I've done both of those configurations and I think they're fun. And the beauty of a college football season is you can quickly get through it. Both in terms of the length of games and also the shorter season.

I'm good with whatever format seems to work for you guys. I'm not really all that familiar with the options.

I thought it might be kind of cool for everyone to take their favorite team, then try and schedule a couple of out of conference games with others in the league. Most of the games would be solo, depending on if people took teams from your conference or not. I'm assuming the game would then offer some rankings, and the game seems to have a nice blog-like feature where we could all keep up with each other.

But a league filled with teams we want sounds fun, too. Whatever works. Would we then compete in the off-season for recruits? That might be fun or annoying. I have no idea.

Well, that's always a tricky thing with NCAA online dynasties. I've never seen one go beyond a single season. If we were able to pull that off or wanted to try and pull that off the best format would probably be one where we all picked teams at mid-level from around the country. That way we could all work our way up the rankings and eventually (season 2 or 3) end up in the top 25, having built teams that could then compete on the national stage.

That's the beauty of how NCAA works. There are a couple different scenarios to play with.

I'm good either way, I think I prefer that everyone takes a mid-level team, since building the team up is another fun aspect of the game. I'd probably take Rutgers, since they are 20 minutes from where I grew up, but I'm still up in the air on who I want to take.

Win. Although that's a PS3 one, but the Xbox one was right next to it. Hooray!

I'm probably going to buy this. I'm in for Northwestern.
