SpaceX is about to launch a rocket!

Pages

There's a live feed: http://www.spacex.com//webcast.php

They were delayed by weather but should be launching in about 10 minutes (1pm EST). If they have to cancel today they have another launch window tomorrow. More on the rocket

Looks like it's still delayed. Come on, launch this thing! Their ratings would plummet on a Saturday.

1705 GMT (1:05 p.m. EDT)
Air Force helicopters are intercepting a sailboat off the coast of Florida that strayed into the danger area.

Should be doing the T- 15 in just a few minutes.

Yep, just restarted the countdown. 1:30 EST approx. Gogogogo!

Counting down.

15 minute countdown started!

Man, they need to spend some of this launch money on bandwidth.

They should have named it Falcon 7, aka Phil Ken Sebben. Ha ha, homages!

If it crashes, they should rename it Falcon Heene.

Huh?

Oh hell no, abort.

Doh!

that was anti-climatic.

Now they should call it Falcon Boogle.

Edit: Fixed for accuracy.

Did they start pouting and turn off the web server?

I think so!

I still have a live feed of the non-launching rocket spurting steam out the side. Although, they could have this on some Speed-style loop and I'd never know the difference.

Before it went tits-up, I heard them mention something about launch computer failure.

Timer is reset to -15:00, but not yet counting.

Clock is ticking...

Edit: They need to play "The Final Countdown." It'd be cooler than watching a rocket sit for fifteen minutes in silence.

Yep, looks like they're trying again

I will say this: Their ability to reset and try another launch within an hour of an abort is damned impressive. They're taking a very iterative and agile approach to launches. If this had been NASA, the first abort would have delayed the next launch attempt for weeks.

I'm thinking stage in front of rocket, live performance of The Final Countdown... that would be bad-ass. A little over a minute!

Its off... and so is the stream.

Well, so far so good.

So awesome

Awesome!

Neat, second stage separation worked.

The main engine is so colorful now that it looks like a cartoon illustration of a pumpkin.

Orbit, bitches!

very nice job, I hope the rest of the test is as successful.
