I had a blast, loved leveling up so fast, and then suddenly found level 30 was unplayable with my build, and no opportunity to respec the fundamental power set and weapon set.
You can't change the power set unless you spend Station Cash (though I haven't found any powersets that are completely useless.. though I didn't really play a ton before they revamped Gadgets and Mental), but you can easily respec to use a different weapon.
So my main toon was a mental controller who was an archer. That was part of the charm of the character, in my mind. What weapon should I switch to? Or what power set suits an archer?

Archery works well for a controller in end game content. It's (1) ranged and (2) builds its hit counter fast, providing more energy for the controller to share with the rest of the group. It also provides good damage in the DPS role Most controllers I knew primarily used either archery or dual pistols. Some used hand blasters or rifles.
So I had an hour, thought I'd dabble a bit. Apparently they've pretty completely nerfed the Mentral power set. My telekinesis wasn't doing ANYTHING. So much for having any fun with this game. At least while solo, I'm not going to go toe to toe with anyone.

Wha? I was killing guys with 1-2 hits using TK..
This was in the Black Adam instance, against some kind of dervish. It was a little surreal, in that I was only taking 3-4 hits before going down. My TK didn't even lift the guy up. I can only conclude the game has been significantly changed since I last played a year or more ago.

Ahh. Almost every instance boss requires a gimmick to defeat in my experience. You can't rely upon your regular powerset to get you through them, but instead must usually look to the environment for clues as to how to get by.
If I remember that one correctly, it was more about jumping up to the sides and throwing barrels at enemies along with judicious breaking of line of sight during power attacks.
So I started playing this again on the PS4. Anyone else tried it?
Played a little on the PS4 to see what's up, but haven't gotten too far into things yet.
If I could transfer characters from my PC account to PS4, I would. I really want to try out the celestial powerset and some of the other stuff they've added.
Let me know what you guys think of its current state. I loved it back in 2011 but haven't played it in over two years now.
I've played it and enjoyed it (on pC) just got tired of doing content by myself!

Same here. Maybe we should have teamed up?

Ditto, I have 4 level 30's that are just sitting there because I have nobody to team with.
Heads up regarding DCUO's Name Reclaim -- shortly after January 20, any account that hasn't logged in in the last 18 months will lose its characters' names.
