[XBLA] Snoopy Flying Ace

I am kind of excited about this. Here is a Joystiq preview. Anyone going to up for some online play later in the week?

That looks really cool but I'll have to try out a demo 1st.

I'm sad there isn't a PC version...

I'll probably check it out, as long as they don't give Snoopy a voice, and the Crimson Skies comparisons are true. If that's all true, I'll probably buy the thing.

*edit

The demo is quick, but I gotta say it's not bad, and looks pretty good. The Charlie Brown jazz music is a little weird when you're getting gunned down, though.

I bought it as a game I could play with my son, and it's pretty good The graphics are big and bold (they remind me of WoW), and the flying is fun and arcadey. I've done the first proper furball mission (called bully fight) and the easy manoeuvres mapped to the right stick and variety of weapons means it's pretty exciting (you respawn in 10s even in the single player so I'm not sure if it's possible to fail). A big multiplayer would be quite cool, though I'm not sure what the longevity would be. It obviously doesn't have the skill depth of an X-wing game or a proper sim.

That looks pretty damned cool. I might have to pick this up.

EDIT: They did Snoopy right and gave him the voice he had in the cartoons — even the goofy laugh.

Tried multiplayer, Team Dogfight, Dogfight, and Pigskin. Pretty good, but some of the skills of players is already approaching some fairly high marks.

Sheeit, I remember playing hours of Snoopy v. The Red Baron on Atari as a kid, just racking up endless amounts of the little Red Baron trophies.

Hrmm. Just ran a multiplayer run in the trial version, and the game is pretty damned cool. Seems like it'd be a steal at 10 dollars, as well.

Oh dear god I need to play this now. Demo downloaded.

watch this.

Dayamn, this looks way awesome. Nice to have a Crimson Skies-esque game just pop up out of nowhere!

I got the demo and played the first tutorial-type mission. This is Crimson skies albeit a little slower. I'm totally buying this tonight and we need to arrange a night to play this sooner rather than later.

Just added the demo to my queue from work. Giant bomb has a great 18 minute quick look. Love those guys.

I'm in, I bought it as well. I'm getting Blur in the mail today, and the MW2 map pack needs a bit of play today. Friday anytime, Saturday evening, Sunday evening I'm free.

I'm in if I'm on and around.

Got it, played through the single player missions in a couple of hours, and a couple of multiplayer rounds.

The Crimson Skies comparisons are pretty much spot on. If you loved those, it's definitely worth the 800 spacepoints.

Well, guess I'll be buying more points... the fact that there is a single player is what interests me, although a friendly game of non-pubbie multiplayer wouldn't be a bad idea

That is all I want as well

(Also, that is the nerdiest picture I have ever seen, trueheart. Is there a full size version of that anywhere?)

I can't find a full wallpaper version, but I do have what I cropped the icon from here.

I've never understood anti-pub sentiment in simple competitive games. Nothing I enjoy more than smokin' folks I don't know.

Co-op, long games like Borderlands are the ones I'm friend-only with.

Danke =)

I'm all over this.

I don't much care for VS mode games, especially when I don't know a majority of them. Even when we do GWJ vs Pubbies or GWJ vs GWJ, I still don't much care for it. I stay primarily for the conversation.

This, I will definitely try though.

The first major site review I've seen is 1up's, and they gave it a B+. The reviewer was down a bit on the single player, but felt the multiplayer was excellent, aside from a few nitpicks.

Tried it, and I'm meh about it.

Singleplayer seemed entertaining enough.

Multiplayer was a mess. A constant 6 second spawn-die cycle, even after I'd got to grips with the controls, and that was with the lobby only half-full.

The right stick is your friend. Barrel rolls get basically everything off you.

Always listen to Peppy, Fox.

Gave it a shot last night, and it's definitely worth ten bucks. Yeah, really reminds me of Crimson Skies. It also reminds me of the fact that I wasn't very good at Crimson Skies. Curse you, Lucy Van Pelt.

Jumped into a couple multiplayer lobbies but there were only three people in them total, so I just went to bed as it was late and I didn't feel like waiting around. I'm assuming I'll suck at it, but will have to give it a shot.

Haven't played the XBLA version, but if anyone is really digging this and wants to take it portable be advised that there was a PSP version that came out a year or something ago.

Finally gave the demo a try and I enjoyed it. Multiplayer was pure chaos that was a blast. Fast, Frantic and easy to pick up. I'm only not getting it because I'm neck deep into another game. Hopefully by the time I do get around to it people will still be playing it.

Red Dead is kind of holding up everything, yeah.

FF13 is waiting for me as well.
