I can't imagine them not doing a sequel sooner or later. They've got to!

And in the distance, you can hear the muffled screams of Bully fans crying out in unison.

Well, I wish them all the luck in the world, but Bully wasn't the giant commercial and critical success that RDR was.

Man, just thinking about how great RDR was makes me tingly.

Yeah, could you stop doing that please? I lent my copy to my sister's boyfriend and they promptly took it back to Ohio with them.

Ok, I filthy skimmed the post I was responding to. The "same thing" I wanted to echo was that I wish it'd come to PC. The "same thing" I will now agree with you about, Meat, is "Kickstarter my ass."

Still, just wish I knew why they decided not to develop it for PC, especially considering LA Noire.

To reiterate what I've said previously in this tread (IIRC), I bet LA Noire got quickly ported to PC because it didn't get the expected sales numbers on consoles, whereas RDR sold quite well on 360/PS3. So I can only assume that R* is willing to ignore the extra sales they would receive by releasing it on PC.

I've heard that opinion before (guessing I've read your assumption, not sure) and the first part- why LA Noire was rushed to port- makes sense. It still doesn't make sense to ignore the $ from Red Dead on PC. At least, it doesn't make sense to me, but I'm not a hugely successful company so what do I know?

I decided to play this through again and started a new game last night, still awesome. I played the hell out of this right when it came out but never really got into the multiplayer, so if anyone has the itch to jump back in give me a shout.

I need a kick in the pants to finish this. I got so mired in the open world, I lost the plot.

I wouldn't mind it if RDR never got sullied by a 2. Spare it all the indignities that come from getting a sequel--the changes, the complaining about the changes, and so on.

Try to remember what's motivating Marston, and focus on that. I have seldom resonated with a protagonist's motivation more than in RDR. What a pitch-perfect game.

Agree 100%. You owe it to yourself to get to the ending. It's the most gratifying ending I've ever experienced.

My Marston keeps getting sidetracked by gambling. It's a sickness.

I will add that it's easier for me to identify with Marston because I am a father and husband as well. It would not have resonated so ten years ago.

I've jumped back in for some Undead Nightmare fun. I bought the DLC when it was on sale a few weeks ago, and I've now lost a few nights to enjoying that. It's been a ton of fun for me to get back into the world, and see what zombie apocalypse has brought to New Austin. But, seriously, where the f*ck is all the ammo?! There's not one store still in business?! I've had more than a few deaths due to running out of bullets while surrounded by hungry undead.

On a side note, when I first played through this game, I did so with the HUD turned off about 90% of the time. I'm still doing that now in Undead Nightmare, and it's very gratifying to look around and remember my way around via landmarks. I can't recommend turning off the HUD enough. Turn it off, enjoy the beauty of the landscape, and turn up the surround sound. You can actually hear where those side quests are simply by following the sound of a scream or a gunshot!

I lost way too much time - and money - to high-stakes poker in Blackwater.

I meant to play Undead Nightmare for Halloween last year, but didn't. Maybe it was to close to finishing RDR, which I only received in late May. This year, I shall not fail!

Still works on Forever Alone 20something me, too. ;P

Just picked this game up again. I've started getting into the multiplayer (which I could not connect to when I first had the game). I'm having a good time in Friendly Free Roam. Also, called a Liar's Dice roll exactly on my first guess in my first game and had people at the table thinking I was clairvoyant.

I want to play with other people. I haven't done any of the Co-op stuff. If anyone is interested in setting up a night or time to play, let us know.

I'm always down for some multiplayer. I sent a friend request. I should be on sometime tonight and tomorrow night, maybe around/after 8pm Eastern Time.

I figured LA Noire got a port was because it's in many ways similar to a classic point and click adventure game so the people who make such decisions might have figured there's more potential for untapped revenue there? Not to say there isn't enough potential untapped revenue to justify an RDR port, but that all comes down to the perception of the folks making that decision (both what revenue potential they perceive to be there and what level they consider to be "enough").

I could be persuaded to play some co-op tonight if I'm not in Call of Duty.

How bout around 8ish-9ish?

And I just confirmed my Call of Duty date. Another time, guys.

That's cool. A buddy just offered me free beers. I guess your timing is good, indeed. I'll be around to play all weekend, though.

The only thing I miss about my XBL subscription is this game.

My fondest memory is the first time I played it. Opened up the packaging, booted it up and jumped straight into the multiplayer with nary a clue as to how to play or what to do. The next 7 hours of my life were gaming nirvana. Getting run over by hog riding cowpokes for a continuous 15 minutes, joining their crew by mule, hunting random players for sport, a shoot out with two other gangs in Armadillo, losing my companions to a bear attack, mistakenly getting into a game of poker in Blackwater, following a dude onto a train and stealth killing him as he shot birds, riding through Mexico with said dude, attacking several gang hideouts, hunting for cougars in the canyons and to top it all off a 2 hour hold off against the Federales in El Presidio. And I never spoke to anyone. That's the first time I was ever truly immersed in a game world and I can't think of anything that compares to it. From what I hear Journey might give RDR a run for its money.

Just thinking about the multiplayer is pushing me to sink another $40 into Microsoft's coffers. Enable me people, any fun/epic stories from RDR multiplayer?

I was getting griefed by some douche-bag; punk followed me from one end of New Austin to the other shooting my horse and lobbing dynamite and molotov cocktails at me. It would have been humorous, except for the fact that I was actually trying to play the game. Long story short, he apparently pissed off a few other people, as I was asked to join a posse and together we pretty much griefed him out of the game. Following that, we went on a mighty crusade clearing out Pike's Basin, Twin Rocks, Fort Mercer, and onwards South into Mexico. It ended with a rousing game of poker in Chuparosa that lasted the better part of an hour.

Good times.

Let's play this

I'll be around this (Monday) evening. I'm on US Eastern time, too.

What time are y'all playing? It's hard to get online with two kids, but I miss RDR. Xbox, I assume?

I'm on 360, yeah. I can be online pretty much any time after 6pm EST.

Well, sorry to be a tease - I do want to play RDR again, but tonight wasn't my night. I'm generally not available until 8:30 Central or so even when I am available.
