Collect Nazi paraphernalia? Which bothers me about the deification of Lemmy.

Just heard of these guys. I'm not sure how I feel about their singing, so here's an instrumental.

For a few more days (through March 31), you can download for free a metal sampler album over at Amazon. It contains 18 songs, each from a different band.

Good god I forgot how much I love "High On Fire". Plus, they're local boys. Right now my work desk is doubling as a really cool bass drum. It's a good thing the students are out for the week. The Dean, on the other hand, probably thinks that we're having an earth quake.

Meshuggah's official video for "Break Those Bones"....not sure I like it.

The song doesn't really go anywhere, and neither does the video.

I have to say, this thread is pretty awesome. Helped me expand sonically. Please people, keep contributing to it.

I just found out about this local band, I like them a lot.

Beastwars

Also, to add to the coolness, they have their own microbrew beer!

Municipal Waste videos are always awesome. I was at the show they filmed their first (I think) video at.

Also love seeing the Government Warning shirt in the video.

Related to Motorhead, and I thought it was oddly fascinating:

No, I am not the father

On a more topic-related note, I'm looking forward to hearing the full Unisonic album (I think it comes out today). This is band that includes former Helloween bandmates Kai Hansen and Michael Kiske. The EP was a pretty good teaser. I'm hoping that Kai can drag the "metal" Kiske out of hibernation. He's shown some glimpses of his old hard rocking' self on some recent releases, but now that he's got Hansen back by his side we'll see what the results are.

Well I thought the "youtube" button would allow me to embed video in a post. Guess I am missing something. Any tips?

You have to delete everything but "foSkPjvuRv0"

I'm looking for recommendations of interesting concerts to watch. Things like 70s Kiss or Queensryche's Livecrime, where the bands put on a real show and did more than just stand there and play.

Since this is the metal thread, how about GWAR? They definitely give you something to look at.

(NSFW obviously)

If you watch a GWAR show you will have Sick of You stuck in your head for weeks.

There's a new Paradise Lost album out, "Tragic Idol", and it's really very good. Not at all far from the high days of Draconian Times.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Iron Maiden recently released En Vivo, the blu-ray from their latest album tour, The Final Frontier. They were awesome in concert here in Denver in 2010, and they're returning this August.

These guys haven't slowed down a bit. Up the Irons!

I'm just going to leave this right here...

Wow, I've seen some cheesy metal videos in my time, but that's definitely a contender for the top spot. As for the song itself, it's not that bad.

Kittie

I've been a fan of Kittie since their debut album, Spit, and it's been interesting to see their music progress over the years, especially considering the band members (of which only the Lander sisters have been consistent) were still in high school when they recorded that first album.

Here are a couple tracks from their latest album.

For the drummers, wannabe drummers and dudes who appreciate drummers, I submit for your viewing pleasure, the mighty Gene Hoglan.

Great video, cool song. It reminds me alot of old Exodus

Wow, Kittie is way better than they were on that reality show back in the day.

New album out today.

I've been meaning to post about that - thanks, garion!
