Splinter Cell: Conviction Catch-All

the survivors are absolutely terrified and act/sound like it

That's one of my favorite parts from Arkham Asylum. Toying with the henchmen until only one remains, and then, finally, simply stepping from the shadows, right in front of the dude. His terror is abundantly clear, as he's actually surprised, giving you ample time to punch him square in the face.

I'm in! Had fun the other night, and I'm home alone tonight. Co-op chapter 4 is a go!

I'm working the early shift today, and I'm planning on having a bit of a gaming marathon after work, so I'll probably be on from 4pm PST until bedtime. Whatever time works for you, dude.

Looking for some coop tonight, 10 ET? I only have the old maps, but if someone here has the new ones, I'll make the leap on them too.

Ah, wish I'd seen this last night.

I picked up the DLC maps, and if you're a Hunter fan like me, they're a massive improvement. The previous ones, while well-done didn't get difficult until Yastreb due to the preponderance of Concrete screwing with the sonar goggles. In the DLC, levels start with 12 men instead of 10, and are much more open and varied, as opposed to the more on-the-rails style of the story missions. New Orleans in particular is a beeyotch.

Tonight is Bad Company 2, but I can do Thursday.

Just hopping on. Anyone still interested tonight?

I'll be on tonight, buying new maps and lookin' to murder fools.

That's called suicide.

Glanton if you see me on this evening, shoot me an invite.
I have the new maps.

Finished the second hunter map (Embassy one I think) on Realistic with 50 stealth kills. So that's the first two done with no detections and 50 stealth kills. On to the third!

It's so much more fun when you force yourself to do it stealthily and quit if you get detected. It's pretty much the same as Infiltration mode... just without the lasers and cameras.

Glanton, Jekl, about to hop on in a few.

I'll be on tonight for some coop, either Hunter or Story. I've been playing some Hunter this week, and I really like it. The maps that are designed for it are much more open than the story mode maps, and they can be very challenging to get through without hitting any alarms--at least for me.

Yea, I was doing hunter mode on the third level. Got through the first 4 zones with 10 stealth kills in each... got to 1 guy left... 49 stealth kills... then bam, the gun sees me and reinforcements sent. Grrrrr.

So close...

Well, just finished the co-op story on Realistic. It was great fun and the ending is a real killer!

Once we'd got the whole networking thing down and had the occasional ubi server crash, those last 2 levels went by so fast. Some very cool moments and doing this co-op really adds another dimension to the game. I've got all the challenges done except for Choke Hold Freedom (6/15) and the one where you have to shoot 5 guys when you've been downed.

Now we are going to do some of those hunter missions and see if I can get those last two challenges done.

The new M3 shotgun isn't too bad either. It's good in close quarters combat, but I have no idea why they added a scope. A shotgun... with a scope!

Anyone still up for playing some of this? I got it from my rent-by-mail service and would like to try out the co-op campaign at some point.

I'm always up for Splinter Cell. Add me on XBL and let me know when you want to play and i'll probably be free at that time to play it.

I'd like to dip back in a little. Post a time here and we'll see what we can do.

I still need some of the realistic co-op cheevos:)

I will be on the internet via XBL this weekend. I'm definitely in for some co-operation.

Good to see that people are still interested in playing. I'm thinking Saturday afternoon or evening for co-op. That'll give me a couple of days to try it out and hopefully not be a complete spaz in it.

I'll play with you Saturday evening.

Ok, I've picked this game up (mainly because I feel an attachment to the Splinter Cell series) and, much to my surprise, I'm enjoying the hell out of it.

Now, I realise that we all currently have our hands full with a seemingly endless torrent of great single player and multiplayer games and I also I realise that I'm late to the party on this game (and 'everyone is putting on their coats and ordering taxis late' rather than 'fashionably late') but if anyone missed playing through the co-op or wants to experience it again then let me know.

I'll play with you. Playing through one of the major co-op campaigns takes about 1.5 or two hours, iirc. What works for you (assuming we can get a good connection, anyway)?

I also need a few of the co-op maps to finish up the game.

It's been ages since I played. I'd help on a level or so, if you don't mind inept play alerting everybody around

Great :). Fingers crossed for a good connection. This weekend is pretty free except I'm going out for lunch on Saturday. I'll send you a PM about possible timings.

Hit me up if you see me online. I'll try to send out a request if see you. No problem if your busy or are in the middle of something.

I'm not what you'd call a stealth machine either. Fighting my way out of my mistakes is too much fun. I'll definitely be up for doing a couple of levels.

I'm out of town for most of the weekend, btw.

We could perhaps arrange something the following weekend. I'll be out on the Sunday I think.

I'll do one with you.

Add me up, I'll do some co-op.

Well, in my efforts to get trained up for co-op, I'm nearly through the single player game :). They've cracked the speedy, in and out of the shadows game play to a large extent. It's not always perfect but there are moments when you're shooting a couple of guys, dropping out of sight, performing a hand to hand take down a third and then executing another two all with just a few fluid moves.

I really hope they don't mess with that mechanic too much in the next one.

Speaking of which:

I sense they may use the daughter as a main character in a new game

Interesting theory.

The game will have to be something incredible though for me to jump through ubisoft's DRM to get it though. I really got burned by their invasive, always on DRM with this game and it really taught me a very valuable lesson. It was fine until i bought the DLC maps. Then half the time when I would go to play, it would say that it couldn't connect to the DRM server and I couldn't play them. Even though it did let me in to the game. Then other times it would work perfect. No changes on my end.

Their dodgy crap really pissed me off. So like I said, the next game would have to be liquid gold sprinkled in diamonds and unicorns for me to buy it.
