Oh yeah, he apologized as he left me to die for his "mistake." ;)

This wasn't me was it?

I love the gauntlet in the Parish.

I love when I'm one melee away from shoving a boober harmlessly off the bridge when my teammate shoots it, splattering it all over me.

I love when that teammate then RUNS as I get swarmed.

GAH!

I thought the boomer juice would let you slide through the zombies like a pig through a dam overflow drain.

No, of course not. You never apologized for any of your mistakes.

My team did the opposite yesterday. Hard Rain finale, waiting for boat to come. 3rd tank spawns early and attacks us at the docks. 3 people get incapped. I get huntered but tank kills hunter. I manage to hobble my way to the boat with tank right behind me

So is that why you never talk?

Zing.

It seems my qualms with this game have been all patched out now.

When I first played the game on the PC I came to the conclusion the AI director was broken. There were constant double-spawns of special infected (ie. two chargers, two smokers, would come from the same place). It broke the whimsy of it all when the identical models were side by side. There were also impossible situations like a tank being spawned during panic events like the mall alarm in Dead Center. Finally during my first, and so far only play-through of Hard Rain, startling one witch would startle them all. It became hard to like the game and I stopped playing for a few weeks.

Coming back to it, I've begun to like it more and more. Realistic advanced difficulty seems to be the sweet spot amongst my friends and we've been enjoying the hell out of the campaigns we play. I've also been playing 8v8, yes 8 versus 8 games on a private server, that have contained my greatest moments with the game so far.

I love 8v8. It's pure chaos. It feels a bit more like playing an MMO version of L4D2.

How can the rest of us get in on 8v8 zany antics?

Sadly, 8v8 will probably never be official. Even after The Passing is released as many hoped.

We have 3 servers, there is no reason we couldn't mod one. The steam group can have 40+ people In-game at the same time. Thats insane! Its a pity I only know about half of you guys.

Hey, the SDK is supposedly out today.

Prozac is a dirty dingo whore.

Hot. Diggety. Damn.

Prepare to see me in the SDK for a while, guys.

Nice VS game in Dead Centre today, we lost but it was a close one, thanks for the invite Demonbox. I didn't do great, but I did have a couple of lovely smoker pulls that dragged a couple of survivors down to the bottom floor to be chomped on by ravenous commons during the alarm event in Dead Centre. If only I played as well the whole match.

Well done to our worthy opponents.

Your jibes just make me stronger, as does devouring your corpse after seeing "Prozac has killed Quintin Stone" pop up on the screen.

How about our japes?

Mmmm, japes. Nothing better than being able to crush Quintin AND Lobster in the same match

Fun game tonight. Laarrs, Primetime, NivekOne and I against Ranalin, Mechaslinky, Drexem and BurntToast. Was a pretty close game up until the bridge finale for Parish. As survivors we lost Nivek to a charger at the first hole into the drink. The rest of us pressed on, dancing with the Tank around vans while he hurled cars. We managed to out maneuver him and up the ladder on the bus for the final leg of the level. I remember Laarrs prancing off up ahead when I was boomed and subsequently pummeled by the tank. Primetime was hobbling and decided to face off with the tank using his shotgun. That ended abruptly. Laarrs ran like he stole something and reached the chopper, leaving us like dead meat.

On the other hand, the other team perfected the "hanging out while boomed" strategy.

It's not easy being purple

Man.. I tried to be the hero for Laarrs.. "Go on without me.. I'm gonna take care of the tank!" Btw, it was an AK47.. and I ran out of bullets... just like in the movies.. I was gonna get out my bat to make a tank burger.. but it caught up with me

btw, what about the awesome first round of scav with illicit, Burnt Toast and Sharpy(TA)? All 3 of you were incapped, I was able to pour some gas and get Sharpy and you up. Ahh the power of positive thinking... (and adrenaline)

Anyways guys... I'm gonna be out of the L4D2 rotation for a bit.. Christmas holidays combined with work schedules don't really mix with L4D2'ing I'll see if I can sneak in before the new year..

Happy Holidays!

P.S. Camni, thx for the present! Ding ding ding ding ding!!

I thought it was pretty interesting that I could jockey Nick out on that support beam and incap him. Makes rescuing him a lot scarier for the survivors.

Anytime someone tells me to run, I never question it. Ok, sometimes I do, but screw you guys, I wanted to make it out alive.

Ditto. Thanks a lot, Cam!

The Mod tools are out. Can't wait to see what the people do.

I know I'm gonna have some fun with it.

Also, this is for all the TF2 fans here.

That is the most fantastic thing I've seen in the last couple weeks.

That was one of the most nerve-wracking moments I've played in L4D for a long time. I wasn't sure Nick could even be reached on that girder but I _was_ sure that we were going to get reamed but good while trying to save 2 danglers in that spot.

Great games all night. Even after a team shuffle the Scavenge games were close and exciting the whole time through. I love it when they go back and forth like that.

Yes, total props to you. Both teams had a couple of those snatched-from-the-jaws-of-victory/defeat but that one was pretty grand.

Quite a nice way to end before the Xmas break.

I laughed so hard at that pyro.

Me too, but I'll wait a few weeks for the proper tutorials to come out for the real noobs.

I am rapidly growing tired of defibrillators. It's true that it's rare they see any use, but when they do, Jesus F***ing Christ is it frustrating. It's also pretty bad for morale when you're up against a team that's carrying TWO of them. Then you think, "Oh boy, we either need to wipe them or kill THREE of them for it to make any difference at all."

I really wish they'd nerf them a bit. It makes absolutely no sense to me that someone can be black and white with 1 HP, die, sit there rotting for 10 minutes, and then with nothing but a jolt they're back on their feet with 50 HP and three "incaps" to go. If it brought you back black and white with 50 temporary health, I think that'd be perfect. You'd still be extremely vulnerable (in other words, punished for doing whatever stupid thing got you killed), you'd still need a first aid kit to get back into fighting condition, and it'd be less "do over!" and more "might make it, maybe."

All told, I miss the pills-only server.

Agreed, though I think in L4D2 the medpacks aren't as gamebreaking as the L4D1 medpacks could be, they can still be annoying but I think at pills only it would just make the survivors have to play perfectly while the infected wouldn't really have to coordinate anymore.
