Left 4 Dead 2 Catch All

Aha, that was you! It was a fun match.

It looks like the 3rd, or is it the 4th, game is going on right now, lol. Been watching Michigan - Notre Dame, so hope there is one more tonight!

Darn, looks like I picked a bad night to get online so late.

Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.

2am EST, we're still playing, looking for a couple more people :).

Oops. Looks like you resorted to pubbies, too. Next time

Yeah. Lesson learned.

As Lt.Warhound said early on - most of the pubbies playing that time of night are most likely pretty good players. Certainly better than we were playing (2-3 am, intoxicated, older, [insert excuse here]).

Fair walloping.

Alright guys and gals. I'm gonna be moving so it might be a while before I can play again. But when you finally see me on again send an invite and I'm there.

Great games last night! Lot of fun playing until past 3am :). If you guys want any daytime games today I'm up for it, lol.

Keep playing crazy late at night. I need some good mornings like that. (Also, crazy side note, though I live in Greece now, I'm from....Michigan). Probably went camping near you cheeba...many times?

I'm down for tonight later if anyone is up.

I'm probably good to go for tonight. But I'll have to put off a whole bunch of work to do it. I am totally willing to make that sacrifice.

Hey guys, so my server is back up and running now. I eventually had to put a support ticket in with the host to get them to fix it.

I really want to get into a co-op game of L4D2 since the single player feels like it is missing something and some parts seem impossible without other people. Anyone interest in getting a campaign co-op going? Not sure if there are still people playing but this game has been sitting in my library for a while and I would love to see how it is in co-op.

Are you the Steam Group?

Thanks Kurrelgyre. I just joined and posted in there.

I've not yet run through the co-op campaign, so I'd love to work on it. Friend me up some time.

FYI: No one's going to see those comments. People would have to manually check the group. You'll want to use the announcement feature when you start your game for the best results.

Yeah I didn't have much luck with the post. I'll do the announcement thing. I'm glad there are still people playing. I tried a couple times with single player, but there are portions of this game that require other human players.

It should be possible to get through the campaign on Normal playing solo, though I guess a lot of this comes down to experience playing L4D. Also note that your AI buddies won't pick up or use pipe bombs or the like--that's all up to you. And save a molotov cocktail for tanks--they go down really fast if you can light them on fire.

I've been turning down L4D2 invites recently because I haven't been in a position to get on mic, but if things work out I'd be happy to play through a campaign with whoever. Or versus, obviously.

I was playing single player on Advanced and filling up the gas tank at the mall was excruciating. I played through L4D single player on advanced and didn't have any issue up until the sacrifice at the end (which I never got through alive).

Ahh. The gas tank finale totally trashed most of us when L4D2 first came out. The obvious approach really fails horribly, and it's a whole different scenario from anything L4D had.

Try running to all of the cans and throwing them down to the car. You'll probably have to move back down to the floor for tank fighting, so after that or before that (if you time it) is a good time to pour cans.

I thought the tank was triggered by x number of cans. Besides, campaign is more fun coop.

It's on a timer.

This is what I attempted last time, the problem is that playing through this single player, you inevitably end up on your own as the AI players die very quickly against tank and friends on the lower level due to very frequent horde spawns.

I finally convinced someone to try co-op with me (my brother) but this was a disaster. My brother is a casual console gamer who has never played a shooter on the pc before. No mouse and keyboard for him. Our first (and last) playthrough of this section resulted in me hanging off one of the 3rd floor balconies helplessly watching as he was trapped by a smoker and brutalized by a horde. Then I lost my grip. We did get a laugh out of it though.

It's been a while since I played that campaign solo, but I remember having to be very careful about when I tried to fill the car, and I had to abort a few times when a horde came. It's kind of annoying but should be possible.

The balance between covering the bots and moving quickly so that the bots don't let themselves get bogged down definitely takes some learning. And yeah, if they go do something stupid and you get pounced, game over. :X

Playing L4D solo means constantly cursing the bots for ruining your plans, at the same time as needing them for your survival. It's fun!

No seriously. find people to co-op with.
