Exploring for wormholes or exploring as in going inside wormholes?

Inside a Wormhole is the very definition of the Wild West. If someone else is in there and they decide you're going to PVP, you better have your escape routes planned.

Both! And yes, I recall how dangerous they can be, which is why I'm training to up to an Astero and a Stratios.

Astero or a Cov Ops ship will be your best bet for exploring wormholes. Stratios is more for hunting people exploring wormholes. I'd stick to C1-3 holes since there will be data/relic sites you can explore. C4-6 is where the big boys play, not to mention there isn't really anything for you to do there. I'd also recommend taking a trip to Thera sometime, preferably in a cheapo T1 explo frigate.

I have an exploration/scout/drones Gallente toon that is stranded out in Deklein from being part of a Null corp a year ago. I'm pretty sure that once I undock I won't be able to dock at any of the nearby stations that are holding nearby assets because they're owned by another corp. I'm considering joining the Signal Cartel which is an exploration-focused corp, and then somehow trying to get back to high sec so I can make some ISK and buy a scanning frigate and gear.

Is there a way to make it back to high sec?

If I somehow made it to Thera, how would I make some initial money to buy a scanning frigate?

Do you have any jump clones that you could move to? If you have the skills you could set your stuff up for sale and just hope someone buys it. The other ways to get out are to try and sneak out. I hope you at least have a direct warp bookmark so you can warp right away and start the long trip back. It of course helps if you have a covert ops ship but it isn't a requirement.

Good to know, as I have a cheap t1 exploration frigate right now. Where is Thera?

Not sure if I have any jump clones. But I discovered that there is always an option to set your home base to an NPC corp HQ in high sec and get podded home, might have to try that to get out.

Thera is a huge unique wormhole that has NPC stations (Sisters of Eve) in it and something like 20 wormhole exits at any time. There's a group called the Signal Cartel who keeps track of where the Thera exits go, which you can find here: https://www.eve-scout.com/thera/

It's great for traversing from one end of the universe to the other, but keep in mind normal wormhole rules still apply: there's no list of pilots in local and it's free PvP, so be careful (and bring a cheap ship).

Ohhhhh neat, maybe we'll do that tomorrow!

So we had a fun stream. We did go to Thera, where I got popped within MOMENTS. It was HILARIOUS.

I am loving The Agency you guys. LOVING.

Thera is still on my to-do list. Especially now that I'm a member of Signal Cartel and can contribute to their EvE Scout mapping service.

Oh nice!

Yeah, I'll go back once I have a fully kitted-out Astero.

I've been signing back in a bit recently to use this as my "zen" game while I'm doing something else. I built a Lazy Gila based on passive resists that I can fly into a crowd on PVE missions, drop drones and then largely ignore while the drones do their work.

With launchers and a large drone bay I can have missiles and drones on hand that are specific to the enemy's weakness and if the mission text identifies a faction I can fit the correct resists before I jump out.

Best moment of the week was running a three-room Angel escalation and in the middle of it all a low level probing boat shows up and starts salvaging my wrecks. As you only have to go back one page to find me posting about doing this myself I couldn't really complain.

Hahahahaha, that sounds amazing. Might I ask what your fitting is for that boat?

Rigs:
Three Medium Core Defense Field Purger II

Low:
Three Drone Damage Amplifier II

Mids:
Three Large Shield Extender II
10MN Afterburner II
[Whatever field generators you need for the damage type the enemy is putting out. 1xEM Ward Field II and 1x Thermal Dissipation Field II for Sansha, for example]

High:
Whatever launchers you like. I go for rapids, because these are here purely to shoot down enemy web and disruptor boats that are slowing you so you get hit a lot, or stopping you from escaping if you need to. The drones kill everything else.

Drone Bay:
2x Infiltrator II
2x Valkyrie II
2x Vespa II
2x Hammerhead II
2x Hobgoblin II
2x Salvage Drone

You can run four Hobgoblins instead of having Salvage Drones. The only time I use Hobs is when one of my other drones gets killed, because you can put out one of the proper drones and two Hobgoblins at the same time.

From there you take a mission, fly through the acceleration gate, turn on your resists and afterburner, drop your drones and then go back to reading work emails until the shooting noises stop.

It'll do the first two rooms of something like an Angel Red Light District Escalation without too much problem. Room three with all the stasis towers, BBs and BCs gets very hairy and requires attention, or you can just accept your loots and jump out at that point.

Just coming back after being out for a few months - what's the Agency ?

It's a PVE finder basically. It lists a bunch of stuff around you, like combat sites, anomalies, agents and so on. It's GREAT.
