I love the idea of EVE, I just can't seem to get over that initial learning-curve hump. I think I'm on my fourth free 14-day trial. I really hope one day it "clicks" and I end up still wanting to play when the trial ends; so far I usually finish the tutorial, think "now what?" and log out for the day. Then I forget about it again, until something like the recent Goonsquad v BoB incident makes me think Hey! EVE! I should give that another try...

I think the main thing EVE has over VG that draws people (cough, me) and others back time and time again is how the world connects together across what VG calls spheres (EVE it would just be how the economy, PvE, PvP, etc all work together).
Agreed, the concept is awesome!
Anyway loving EvE, got into EVE-UNI - however there is so many people that are new to game not sure how much I will get out of it. Still might look for a corp looking to train a couple of new players or two.
Ignore the amount of people in there. Use/Abuse the Uni's forums, take every class you can, and request a mentor. If they're not working out so well, let Aehara know.

I settled in a little; however, with my schedule and the WAR I could not get in on the fleet stuff. So I had to drop for now so I could run some at least a couple of mission a night.

I've been at it for about 2 weeks now and seem to have a decent grasp on what is going on, I tend to read a lot and have been focused on mission running for the most part. Jump into the GWJ channel and we can find something to do.
Speaking of Corp's, who controls GWJ Enterprises?
Monty had it before, not sure who got the CEO role. I might have a director character in there... or not. Is it time to resurrect it?
*EDIT* by Monty, I meant Montalas.
It's always an option, there is a small group on most nights at the moment guess it just depends on what everyone is looking for.
Seems to be more and more peeps on regularly now. Mornings before work are still a bit lonely but after work we seem to have more than one or two in chat.
Well I think a few of the older peeps are in solid corps; however, for those of us that are still in limbo it could a option...
Just been looking at the features list for the 'Apocrypha' expansion...
Skill queues......mmmmm (in a Homer Simpson sort of way).
Is limited to queueing stuff that will start in the next 24 hours, but it's a start,

I could never bring myself to delete the corp, so it's still there and I'm still CEO as far as I know. But it would be just as easy to start a new corp, since I'm assuming everyone is spread out in the universe. GWJ headquarters are in Josameto, two jumps from Jita, in the Forge.
With that said, I'd be happy to re-up my sub for a month and transfer power if folks are interested in keeping the "GWJ Enterprises" name. I also owe Prome some isk, with interest. :p

IMO, it's all that was needed, something to alleviate getting up at 3am to change a skill, or having to change to a long skill, then finish the one you're working on later. Drove me absolutely nuts. This means that I can just toss the next skill in the queue, regardless of how long it actually is. My only real issue with it is that you can't inject a skillbook, then add that to the end of the queue.

Well I do not think it would be worth you dumping $15. It would just be easy to start a new one. I am loving this game and wish I had played years ago. However, I am still searching for my place in the universe...
If you need to dump it off to someone, you can give it to my character in GWJ, Monty. I can steward it through until more active people step up and decide to do something with it. I don't know if there's any way to wrest control of the corp from you without your intervention.
One direction we can go with it is to join the corp to EVE-U for the meantime. That should consolidate most of our GWJers and still give them the EVE-U helping hand. Anyone currently in EVE-U think that's a good idea?
I am will to take control also; however, I do not want anyone to drop money to do it...
I'm in Eve Uni, but not terribly high up. No idea how they'd take another corp entering IVY though.
In general, my thoughts is that unless we start getting a much more active base on a consistent basis, we're better off leaving GWJ Enterprises where it's at, and hanging out in the GWJ channel. Much easier from a logistics standpoint IMO.
Let me see if I can get on this week and transfer power to Prome's alt who is already in the corp. If not, maybe make your own plans because I tend to move slowly.
I'm addicted again, damnit.
This game has me sold!!! I cannot believe I waited this long...
What prompted that eureka moment, armedbushido?
Frankly, I've been feeling very... meh? about eve a couple of weeks ago just because the fighting in southern 0.0 space has been pretty stagnant. While I do enjoy actual large fleet combat, my love for the game got reignited recently by joining my secondary account to an old corp of mine that reformed. Roaming with 6-12 people, killing everything along the way, dodging huge groups of angry 0.0 dwellers and fighting massively outnumbered when cornered, these things make the game very VERY addictive for me.

I'm at a 'meh' point myself. I've got a couple more months on the account, probably going to just switch skills as needed for a while.

Interestingly, that's what I've been doing for the past few months (just switching skills). Starting to think about getting back into the swing of things now.

EVE seems to be one of those come and go games for me. I've gotten comfortable where I'm at, and want to move on, but I don't really have the time to commit to EVE, which is really offputting. So, I put it away for a while, do some other stuff, and I'll probably be back eventually.
The coming and going syndrome appears to be common in Eve. Play constantly for a month or two, then taper off for a bit, then feel the urge again and come back. Often the come back phase is due to dissatisfaction with other games/mmos I find. After the third time canceling and resubbing I just said the heck with it and subbed for a year. That way I don't feel I'm 'wasting' $15 if I don't play for most of a month as the $130 or whatever is long gone...
Downloading XP.... wait for it...
Just started my free trial today. I must say it's pretty daunting at the start. I'll be Futsunishi in the GWJ channel if anybody wants to come and make fun of my noobness.
Well it is a lot to take in at first but ask away in channel and your fellow n00bs will help with what we can.
So, Nuean and I will be running out of Ishisomo on Saturday, 11am PST to have some wormhole fun. We'll be coming in pretty heavy so we should be pretty safe. If anyone's interested in joining, everyone's welcome to go. We'll be pinging everyone in the GWJ channel at that time.
Time to run some fun group stuff!
I might pop along, but I'm thinking about leaving my current corp so may well just be boxing stuff up and getting ready to shunt it back to Empire instead.
Going to try and be around - depending on wife...
