Actually the current report is that Ambulation is a good ways off, certainly after the March expansion. It should have more than enough though with the stuff davet010 already mentioned. The T3 ships are going to be customizable with hundreds or thousands of different combinations which should be really exciting.
To be honest, Quantum Rise seems a bit lackluster to me. The thing I'm looking forward to the most is the new weapon grouping feature, which will let you fire/reload/change ammo for all of your guns at once if you wish. The speed nerf also seems like a good dose of common sense and might even end up making Assault Frigates useful for once. I've always had such a soft spot for them.
Same here. Some AFs are certainly more useful than others; See the Harpy for more details It's an excellent anti-interceptor sniper.
Small ships - pah I'm going to run over you in me new shiny Orca, then reverse back to make sure.
As an industrialist player, I really like a lot of the stuff in Quantum Rise. Can't wait to see what prices people have the nerve to try and charge now for ships that are traditionally poly rigged...I've always faced a Machariel, just not with a 900m price-tag. Still, a part of me wishes I'd cashed in my Rattlesnake, could've got 1.1bill for it yesterday.
What's your name in-game, Gunner - and why aren't you in the GWJ channel
Hehe, harpy is going to be my af of choice too. Really looking forward to it. There are also rumors that the devs are planning on finally giving af's their much awaited fourth bonus (just like very other t2 ship) in a patch sometime soon.
For the industrialist side, I'm honestly kinda disappointed. Other than the Orca (which would take me a lot longer to train for than a freighter) there doesn't really seem to be much at all. Its not much of a mini-freighter when a freighter is easier to get into. The redesign of t2 industrials is fairly exciting though, what with blockade runners getting covert ops cloaks now.
My name in game is Evo Mannerheim. Already fairly established in a corp, but I'll see about dropping into the channel some time.
Bah Quantum Rise. It's good in that it adds new content and addresses the carebear side of things. It's bad coz, well, I'm decrying the loss of asymmetric roaming gangs. Yes, I nano on occassion. I didn't see much of a problem with it, unlike when nano first became popular and the modules were horribly imbalanced.
T2 AB has always been the way to go with assault frigates. My T2 AB rocket hawk and my T2 AB bait Vengeance all had their glorious moments even if I did draw a lot of flack from alliancemates for flying supposedly useless ships. Of course, I'm biased since I cut my teeth PVPing in a rocket kestrel and scaring solo interceptors with my griffin (and it's 1 light drone!)
What's this about t3?
EDIT:
I wonder how well the destroyers would work nowadays? Hhhhmmm... time to find out.
No mention of how t3 mechanics might work. But I guess it's really coming down the pipe. Time for me to train all those thermodynamics skills. Good info, thanks!
Carebears4life get Left4dead.
Hi there. Have been playing eve for a fair time now. My mains name in game is Marcus Atntony. I have been with and helping build up what I have found to be a great corp (that may be bias in some eyes :p). Between my two toons i work mainly on capitals, t2/t1 gear, missions, and generally blowing isk in pew pew, and dancers.
ello Canadian - drop into the GWJ channel next time you are on....password is 'gwjeve', and there may be some of us about.
Just don't believe anything fstarta tells you
Hi. Did someone post pew pew?
So, which corp, Canadian?
Thanks for the channel info, will hope on to there next time I am on. I did post pew pew, I left out the boom, <-- the latter being what mainly happens to me lately :p Been with the Element Syndicate corp from day one (regardless of what my employment history says :D)
Here's a question, are any of you getting weird lag on eve since the expansion came out?
Frozen - yes, particularly as I move away from gates. The nerfing of missile attacks on smaller craft in the last expansion is proving to be annoying as well.
I've had lag reports over the weekend throughout the eve-verse so it's not a localized thing. Also, it's been acknowledged (gotta find a link for it) by CCP that the eve client is a resource hog (mostly the classic client per anecdotal evidence) so switching to premium client may get rid of some lag.
In my experience this past weekend, lag was more than clientside.
Maybe everyone has already seen this, but ENN posted some footage of what appears to be an early implementation of ambulation. Looks pretty neat!
price of Orcas falling rapidly - looks like all the first day buyers who snapped them up from the showrooms got them home and found out they didn't know what to use them for....and the second batches will be hitting the forecourts soon as well.
I'll be the one sauntering down onto the ships channel with 600m and picking a nice shiny Orca up on Monday, then installing all the mining mindlinks and assisting my corpmates in another of our asteroid belt stripping trips next week, rather than the berk who paid 3 bill for one this Monday
I'm playing a trial right now- will join the channel and say hi.
Still playin' - not really active on this here fine forum though, so probably not a lot of you who even know my name. I started playing November 2006 and have been ever since, as the Co-CEO of my corp. Did a good bit of mission running in highsec for the first while, then we went 0.0 and never looked back ('cept when, you know, we got kicked out of 0.0 again :P). These days, I do mostly management, diplomacy and whatever pvp i can squeeze in.
Just to prove my salt, here's some advice for newer players that will hopefully prove I know what i am talking about to the more experienced bunch
1) Never fly a ship you can't afford to replace. it may be shiny and you may be careful but you're setting yourself up for a blow you can't take.
2) Bigger isn't better and there is no ship that is flat out better than all other ships at everything. This holds true even if you narrow it down to combat or mining or freight.
3) Everything changes, and quite rapidly. If you hope to be good at pvp, for instance, keep up to date with changes (such as the massive changes to speed and most forms of damage in Quantum rise).
4) Trust is everything. There is no such thing as a free lunch but there are lots of people willing to go lengths to steal your hard-earned lunch for themselves. Scamming and/or stealing isn't against the EULA as well, which all pilots in eve should be aware of.
5) ISK doesn't a good pilot make. The worth of a pilot is determined not by the amount in his wallet but by the experience, skill and knowledge that pilot has.
Feel free to drop into the GWJ channel....bring yer own beer tho, it's been busier later.
password is 'gwjeve'
I'll have to do that, been slowly sliding back into Eve, yet again. Morgen StMichael, npc corp at the moment, not active enough yet to want to join another corp.
Eve has always intrigued me but I can not just pull the trigger on it.

It was like that for me for a long while. I pulled the trigger after a couple weeks in the trial. Now I'm at the point where I can pay for EVE using in game currency fairly easily, so it's much, much more doable.

How much ISK is needed to pay for a month?

It fluctuates. Currently, PLEX(Pilot's LIcense Extensions) go for around 300 mil. By comparision, I can make that much in an easy week of missioning.
(sighs)
Time to buy a bigger fridge for the clubhouse.....
I think I have a fridge BPC somewhere...
T2, I hope. I do object to using my freighter to carry beer though, mainly because other people drink most of it
Ok, I'm officially back in for 6 months at least.
Don't you just love GTC's.
I am going to give this a whirl again - anyone I should contact about playing with?
Just join the GWJ channel, SpyNavy. Password is either gwjeve or evegwj, one of the two.

The actual password is in the GWJ MMO Info sticky at the top of the page, along with all that info
Well, I had to dip my feet in the water last Friday and liked what I found. I'm normally idling in the GWJ chat channel in the early mornings (after restart) and sometimes in the evenings. Name is Dard Jingo.
