If games were foods....

Peggle is chocolate. Sometimes I'll come home and find the wife with smears of Peggle all round her mouth and a glazed look in her eyes.

Puzzle Quest is like Thanksgiving turkey. No matter how full you are or how sick you are of it, you always wander back to the fridge for just a little bit more.

Nope. We just disable some of the BBCode for new members to prevent spam.

Playing through Awakenings makes me agree with the Porterhouse analogy up above, but I think I'd modify it this way:

DA:O... A seven-course meal with steak, lobster, and five of your other favorite dishes, but served very, very slowly.

(Awakenings seems to have better pacing, although the character interaction is much less developed.)

Dynasty Warriors would be like chitlins. The people who enjoy it thinks it great, while the rest of us think its just crap.

never mind

Mario games (not jsut super mario, but anything with mario in it) are like grains of rice. Most of the world loves them and some people live on a diet comprised of only that one thing. Also no matter how many times you finish one off, it seems like there are still just as many left.

Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2 makes me think of Lucky Charms cereal for some reason. Probably the colors.

And because after a bowl of Lucky Charms kids run around like that.

I keep going back to old games long after finishing them. Age of Wonders, Psychonauts, Civ 2. Maybe they're a menu from a little old diner in a neighborhood I no longer live in, way across town.

For me, Fallout 3 is Tuna Noodle Casserole. It doesn't matter what else is going on, it doesn't matter what I've had or done lately. I am always in the mood and I always enjoy the serving, no matter the size.

Okay, that sounded way dirtier then intended. Get your minds out of my gutter!

Would it be wrong to compare Left 4 Dead and the sequel to sloppy joes?

Alright, but there's still leaves and crap in here. You're going to have to finish cleaning it yourself.

Left 4 Dead is like a big plate of nachos. Messy, highly variable, and best enjoyed with at least 4 people and an alcoholic beverage to wash it down. Also, you always end up eating more than you intended.

Hah! Very fitting.

The visual in my brain made me chortle. Also, your wife is awesome.

Atari 2600 games are like Smarties. When I was young, I could eat (play) them for hours. These days, I could only eat (play) them for a short amount of time before thinking "this isn't as good as I remember it."
