I like that the only 'real' difference between Bonnonon's post, and Moggy's, is the letter 'U'.

Made my day. Hilarious.

Nice rack moggy.

I'd like to buy that vowel, please.

My 3.5 year old daughter and I made and decorated GINGER BREAD PEEPS!

A STAR WARS fan fiction I wrote when I was 12. A local comedy group called The Nerdologues has a monthly podcast where nerds can share their stories. February's theme was Fan Fiction so I dug this out of my parents' basement and read portions of it, to the great delight of the audience (it's so bad!). If you read a lot of STAR WARS novels in the '90s, I'd recommend giving it a listen: http://yourstories.podbean.com/2013/03/01/march-2013-fanfiction-part-1/. I start a bit before the 33 minute mark but the whole thing is pretty great. And there's a link on that page to a scan of the full story.

Ha! At first I thought you were showing a sketch you just finished.

my son needed a clock so this happened

had to finish from my desktop :-[

Ya know what Mr Rob_Anybody? Screw you. That's right, I said it!

Spoiler:

I only say that because I'm terribly jealous of your talent. Great work!

You guys are all so talented!

Just about finished with this - a queen-sized farmhouse bed, with almost all traditional joinery. The headboard and footboard are tongue-and-groove, with hand-cut dowels connecting the stiles and top boards. There are mortise-and-tenon joints between the rails and head/footboards, reinforced with 8" long cast iron bolts, forged by the good folks at Horten Brasses.

This was a fun project. It took about 4 months, as woodworking is a hobby that lends itself to weekends, and mine are largely consumed with skiing in the winter months. I did the majority of the cutting in January, and then gradually assembled the pieces in my basement shop and waited for warm enough weather to haul everything up into my garage to stain and polyurethane. The past few weekends have been nice, so with the doors open, I wrapped up the project, finished the assembly, and moved it into the freshly-repainted guest bedroom this afternoon.

Some pictures:

Assembled for the first time, post-stain/poly:

Reproduction bolt covers, which allow for easy dis-assembly of the bed if needed:

Done and in place in the bedroom:

You must've got the C-Clamp jumbo pack. That looks amazing, congrats on your hard work!

Thanks! Second piece of furniture I've built, after a farm table last year. Next up may be chairs for that table, but the rear legs have me somewhat daunted.

A man can never have enough clamps. I need at least four times as many as I have now, along with some truly long bar clamps.

I made a music video. Please watch it. Video is for Tomas Kanolky, who some of you might know from Catch 22 or Streetlight Manifesto. Nice guy.

This is the truth. Every time I get more clamps, the next project makes me feel like I still need more.

Nice bed, btw.

Pshaw! Dude's only got 2. Not gonna get much done with that.

He's got 3 more, you just can't see them.

Oh wow! I saw a link to this video on the Streetlight FB page and made a note to watch it when I get home. Now I'm extra excited cause I know a goodjer made it.

I'm super pumped for the new SM and Toh Kay albums. I've been rocking the new streetlight single in my car all week.

Holy crap, bombsfall, I am truly impressed. Nice work!

Wow bombsfall. That was beautiful and amazing.

Hey you there - just reading the thread. Why aren't you watching that?
