Post a Picture - Something You Created!

I actually was serious about the lawn roller. Put water in it to add weight (or sand, if you are hardcore), then empty it for storage.

I know nothing about lino printing, but might a veneer or laminate roller serve?

(Lee Valley is not likely the best place for you to buy for shipping reasons, but it's the first place I thought to look for an example.)

Feels.... weird to post ANY kind of music thing. It's been 4 or 5 years since I've taken the time to record anything.
This is about 2 hours of work here - listening to the theme and noodling it out on the keyboard, then tracking each instrument. Nothing crazy, but wow am I feeling - happy to have done this.

Not a picture, but there's a picture of the 3DS cover there?

Absolutely lovely, Zoso.

Thanks Fredrik. Hoping I can build momentum, get back into a groove. How I missed it.

oh yeah the spoon idea worked great! thanks!

working on some components I can scan in and turn into a map (border and compass rose)

and then a few more prints of the first one too, much improved.

Beautiful! That compass-rose graphic is killer; it looks like a compass for many dimensions! (And just in general, I love the little artifacts that show up in relief prints.)

My apologies, but what is it? A musical instrument of some kind?

Sorry for the late reply, It's a travel ukulele. Yes, Ukulele's are already small but this one is smaller, and more robust for travel.

Pyxi, I'm behind the thread. Those look very nice. Are those, ahhh I can't remember what it's called, but the ink-dye art you create by carving into a pad? I enjoyed those when we got to do them way back in middle school art.

Since watching Clerks, I've had Alice in Chain's "Got Me Wrong" in my head. Decided to try to get it out by jamming on it. Quick takes, recorded around kids and dog barking and all that, but it was a fun exercise in layering vocals and fiddling with guitar tones on my little effects box I'm using here.

yeah, cut into pieces of lino, then printed with ink using a roller.

I loved the stream of Sean Sands foray into Dark Souls so much I created a tshirt to commemorate the event. You can order one from the store Shawn Andrich put up here. All proceeds go to Sean's rehabilitation.

I wrote a program to draw 3d objects from maya files (the colors indicate what direction that surface is facing

I got 6 chairs for $25 off craigslist. They had paint stains and the cushions were a bit icky, but the wood seemed good. We steamed the cushions, and reupholstered them with a tablecloth we got clearanced from Halloween. We repainted the wood and tightened up all the bolts. I'm really proud with how they look now, and I can't imagine how we'd get chairs like it otherwise. The stapler and paint cost as much as the chairs, but still totally worth it.

This is my new Retro gaming station. It's been a fun project but I still have a lot more I want to do and add to it. I'm still trying to find some of our other gaming things like the Wii, DS, and SP that we had growing up. Looking at all of this, it's clear how fortunate (and spoiled) my brother and I were. I couldn't even fit all the consols we had! I just couldn't let all of these amazing pieces of hardware rot in some plastic bin at my parent's house anymore. These are not just old gaming consols to me. Each of these consoles and games has so many memories attached to them and I wanted to celebrate those memories in some way.

Now some of you with a keen eye will see that Super Metroid is on the TV but not in the SNES. While I still own all of my games, I've decided to use an old PC I had lying around and make it an emulator PC. This way I won't have the clutter of all the physical games and it's very easy to just switch games and consoles. Also, some consoles are on the fritz and don't work reliably anymore. Plus the thought of hooking every console to a modern TV with a switcher and god knows what adapters gives me anxiety.

I'll definitely be rearranging things in the future. When I find my Wii, I'll put all the Gamboys on top sitting on some type of angled display thingy like whats used for plates.

I'll take more closeup pictures tonight as I'm going to make a more detailed Reddit post about it.

The stand is just a basic 8 cube storage shelf from Walmart. Ikea has the same thing but it was easier for me to get from Walmart. Amazon also sells it

The lightning is an 16' LED strip that I cut in half and split with a power splitter. They came out with this awesome tiny clip to mere LED strips so you don't need to solder anymore. I drilled small holes near the top to feed the strips through.

The backing is literally just poster board that I got from the dollar store and used double sided tape to stick it to the back of the unit. I used a 2" hole drill bit to make space for the wires to go through. The wires aren't plugged into anything as it's just for show. The PC is doing all the work.

Now the controller adapters are the only pain here. There is no 1 adapter to rule them all so I had to buy a bunch of controller to PC adapters. They do however sell look-alike controllers that are just USB wires but all the original controllers I have work so I went this route.

NES
SNES
N64
GC/PS1/Xbox
Dreamcast

Sweet chairs.

Very neat and tidy!

And your annoying younger sibling gets the authentic controller and you swear it's plugged in.

If I had more space I would like to do a gaming man cave type thing like that. I have most of my old consoles still (loaned my NES and games to my cousin and never saw them again, but somehow still have the controllers).

That fabric (table cloth?!) is amazing. Where did you pick that up, do you remember? My wife is sort of in the process of doing the same thing to our dining room chairs, which actually look fairly similar to the one in that photo. The fabric is right on with some other stuff we have!

Also, Tempest that has to be the best retro gaming station I've ever seen.

Target has it or something similar every year. It's pretty nice fabric. My fiancee made a skirt out one a couple years ago.

I finally received my Wazer. I kickstarted it way back in September '16. A long wait!

It took a while to set up, but I was finally able to perform my first cuts.

The first was the "welcome" cut they provide - complete with material already mounted on the bed - to make sure everything was setup correctly.

Aluminum 3.5" x .5 " x .25" thick

The second was a porcelain tile left over from a remodel.

In the end, pretty straight forward, though their online CAM tool to generate the gcode sucks. Hopefully they'll improve it or I'll be able to reverse engineer their special codes well enough to add a module to v-carve.

We'll see.

Next test is to cut some fusing glass. The possibilities for cool fusing patterns are amazing. Curves!!!

Dear lord... That looks *dangerous*... I want one!

I made these lovely lumps on my ankle after a dog running full tilt at the dog park blindsided me, swept my legs out from under me, and gave me a fibular leg fracture (sorry, no pic of that... yet).

I have a splint for 3 days, not allowed to walk. After that they'll have another look and decide if I need a pin or a cast, or more splint time.

The owners of two of Roscoe's doggy friends at my apartment complex are looking after him. To be honest, I don't think he gives a flying f*ck what is going on with me. He spent six hours today playing in a yard with one of his park buddies, and now he is chilling on a couch with two of his other favorite bitches. He's in heaven.

As for me, I'm in a fair bit of excruciating pain. The hydrocodone combo is helping with that, but it never seems enough.

Oh geez, man, I hope that heals up quickly! Pain is the worst.

(And, uh, now you've found an occasional play date for Roscoe? ...Yay?)

Oh yeah, Ella and Missy are his regular playmates, since I've had him. Their mom and dad text me whenever they head out and vice versa.

Dog park friends are the best!

Well, that's definitely an upside. And hey, stoned gaming time! I hope the final decision is something simple, like a cast. Good luck!

IMAGE(https://i.imgur.com/xuk0yNVh.jpg)

Pain has been receding gradually. This is a walking cast, but I can't put my full weight on it yet without owies. Probably a few more days. Then another month until the cast comes off.

I chose black so that there would be NO WRITING, DRAWING, OR ART PROJECTS OF ANY KIND ON MY LEG.

I guess this could go in the love thread, but I don't really "love" it...

Hope it heals quickly, BK.
