Post a Picture - Something You Created!

A very cool logo. I'm learning Illustrator as well and it is a handful of confusing, but when you get some things to work, you can get awesome stuff. I'm using more guides and layers than ever before.

Thanks! I will say a lot of the effects applied to the logo were done in Photoshop—the wood grain overlay and the drop shadows, but everything else was Illustrator. But I absolutely agree; it's very powerful but fraught with danger when you learn Photoshop first. Feels like the trick is differentiating the metaphors that each programs use. Photoshop is like painting on to sheets of transparency that you lay over the top of one another, Illustrator is more like designing lego blocks, then applying effects to the blocks. It's taken me a bit to wrap my mind around that.

Has anyone posted a photo of poo in this thread yet?

No

BEE VS CHICKEN. WHO WILL WIN THE TOWN HOUSES?

I'm giving it to the chicken. He's got the thousand-yard stare.

Yeah, that Chicken looks like he will stab you and just keep stabbing.

Excellent logo by the way!

Here is a few pictures of something I created! A model BD-5 airplane that happens to be RC!The wingspan is 32 inches.

First the frame!

Then the skin, servos, elevator

The rudder, wings, receiver

under side

And it is done!

IMAGE(http://i.imgur.com/GzkJN.jpg)

It has kinda a crappy paint job, but i was excited and wanted to fly it quick. The BD-5 will go about 50-60 mph and is extremely agile! I'm learning how to fly inverted and to do all sorts of tricks with it.

Also it is made of foam, depron to be exact, I used a straight edge and a blade to cut it out and then hot glue to hold it together. The hinges for the ailerons, elevator, rudder are strapping tape. In total the airframe is about 10 bucks, the electronics is approximately 50 bucks. the cool part is if I smash it into the ground I just chop up a new frame transfer the electronics and bammo new plane. I'm waiting on an order of electronics for next airplane I'm making, it will have a 60 inch wing span and have a cargo door so I can drop things out the back (like water balloons)

Fixed for accuracy. My best friend is an RC airplane modeller, and his motto is "You build 'em, you fly 'em, you crash 'em, then you build 'em again." It's good fun. I enjoy crashing his planes for him.

L2R nub.

Nice, Phara. Foamie pusher-props are great for one-point landing survival.

That plane is awesome. And the paint job is less than awesome :). But also sort of so "bad" it's awesome all over again. I think if you had used masking tape to do the yellow stripe and black windows, it would look great. Very impressive though. Make sure to show us your future / past projects!

I got more planes coming down the pipe as I have almost become "good" at flying. Last weekend I returned home with both my airplanes intact! I have a p-51 of sorts coming up quickly, then my cargo plane as soon as the electronics come in. I'm really looking forward to the cargo plane.

I also went out to harbor freight and picked up an airbrush so my paint jobs will not suck as much.

Both of those statements make me confused due to the highlighted parts. Still, nice work.

Harbor Freight Tools

I know what Harbor Freight Tools is and I think they're good for throw away tools and little else IMO. I'll buy stuff that I don't intend to use much, or just once from them. So the thought of buying something that will be a decent part of a hobby that sees regular use to me does not compute.

I'm cheap! I mean it is only a foam plane so it doesn't have to look super pro. I assume it will look better than my paint brush and left over house paint will be able to make.

My cargo plane will have a hollow area so I can put crap into and then fly it up into the air, then I hit a switch on my transmitter and the hatch opens and whatever is inside falls out! I want to be able to stuff 150 or so of those cool parachute guys into my cargo plane and release them from several hundred feet up.

Please take pics when you do-- That'd be really cool to see!

Took my first foray into pixel art. And, wow, is it tough and time consuming. Can't wait to do more, though. It's fun to figure out what will work and what just looks wrong. Some icons for an iPhone app/game:

I dig it, 7. Don't be afraid to embrace the limitations of pixelation, though--the 20px look like they were squished down from bigger sizes, instead of the other way around, which makes them less legible unless you know what you're looking for from seeing the bigger versions.

Hmm, that's too bad. I actually did the 20px first and then worked larger. Thanks for the feedback. Next time I'll have to come up with different representations at the tiny size. Any in particular you feel have poor legibility? Maybe I'll take a pass at improving some of them.

I've had one of the busiest months ever, so I thought I'd post some of the stuff I've been working on.

I was invited to take part in an international exquisite-corpse-style animation project. Everyone gets 4 weeks to make 5+ seconds of animation and continue the story. I was the eighth artist and though I only spent 2 weeks on my episode, it was the longest and most popular. /brag

If you want to see my episode edited in with all the others, check it!

I also put together this short about my struggles with depression, which is getting much more attention than I expected.

Wow. Nice work! I want to be you when I grow up.

Blimey, that's all kinds of crazy. Awesome though

Absolutely stunning. Damn, man, you really nail every aspect of these, perfectly. Super jealous!

Those are very cool animations. Good art style, timing, and movement.

1 & 2 and 6 & 10 stand out to me, I think because I'm more looking at the general shape and negative space (which there isn't much of in the latter pair). Especially if you're going to keep in mind colorblind users, you will want to try and start by thinking about letting the shape define the image, as if you only had two colors to work with.

Thanks for the feedback, man. Good points, and I'll definitely keep it in mind as I put pixel hammer to pixel anvil in the future

Perhaps I need to be more productive at work, but I really needed to put together a nerd card.

Mmmmm, tomatoes. What kind(s) do you have there?

Mostly Roma and some Beefsteaks. I planted waaaay too many tomato plants this year.

Edit: As my wife says, "Also,we do not drink as much as this picture would suggest."
