Oh! I forgot about this thread! So, the Big Green Egg is my parents' which I coaxed them into buying and subsequently used while I was living with them for a couple years.

I moved to the coast with my partner and were able to buy a nice little house in Newport, OR. On the coast, corrosion is always a huge concern. I am now doing a 22"? Deluxe Webber charcoal kettle grill for grilling and using some electric smokers for smoking. I did this because a BGE is expensive.

BGEs are kind of a fun all-in-one solution that let you bake, smoke, and grill on one unit and do all of that quite well. Great if space and storage is an issue. Baking things like pizza is the main thing you won't be able to do going with other solutions.

I may get one eventually although I think my priority now would be to get a little outdoor pizza oven of which there are tons of on the market right now. Those will do pizza better than a BGE for sure.

In other news, I'm loving my ocean blue deluxe Webber with the ash catcher thing. Having all sorts of fun with it grilling. Just got a SNS Grills Slow 'n Sear Deluxe SS coal holder thing for it.

Still loving my Weber kettle grill too. It's now almost 6 years old and has been outdoors without a cover the whole time. There's no rust or other indication it has been that way. I need to take the ash sweeper out and bend it back into shape, as the last time I used it I noticed it was warped. Might as well clean the inside too. That will be the first time I have, since it's been self-cleaning all this time (other than using a grill brush).

Edit: There is one other minor thing. I'm going to flip the bottom grill grate. Looks like over the thousand or so times it's been used the heat of the coals has made it sag a little in the middle.
