It's been a while, so I should really cull the board of GWJ nonbelievers as well. Anyone care to nominate a TA leaderboard member for nonparticipation / deletion? PM or post.

Totes Minarchist.

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.

Don't play the hata, play the game.

Attention all Dandies. I just read SaintFaucet's comment on my TA feed and realised it could be taken two ways...

Dumb move on my part.

I was just commenting on the bottom three positions, and the fact that they are scoring so low this week (at present, one only has a TA score of 72). I didn't mean that 'we' had not been doing any scoring.

Apologies, I'll watch my context next time. We're still cruising well I think. I have a lazy 600 points we can draw on through FO:3, and I must be getting close to this one in Kinect Joyride too.

No worries. I checked GTASC after I saw that comment, and figured you meant the comp in general. Benefit of the doubt and all that.

Despite an extra day off this weekend, I ended up catching up on sleep rather than play games. Honestly, the nonsense with my older xbox and my fiance's XBL account, I'm a bit sour on it right now.

This weekend, I'll probably be back up for some xboxin' again. I may move the good xbox to the living room for some Kinect. Even it not, I'll probably finish up Movie Mode in Joe Danger 2, and put some time into Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine.

Don't do it! Them young-uns 'll trash it!

I think you should jury rig the old Xbox to smoke on start-up or something and then wait for your roommates to use it.

Getting close there, dandies! Hop to it, gang!

Just going to pop that lazy 600 now, then that should 'hopefully' get us over the line. Anything you guys can do while I sleep will be appreciated

I don't know that I'm going to have a lot of time to game. I have a Fallout 3 PC nuclear button too.

In fact, on that note, can someone with some PC master-race genes tell this hairy console neanderthal how to push that nuclear button?

addachievement 72

Should be able to cut/paste from an editor into the console.

And so, it is done...

30 minutes to elimination, and although we are only 400 points from the cutoff, there are 6 others between us and the three to be eliminated.

I think we'll live to fight another day.

And we're continuing on into the next week.

I ended up finishing Bulletstorm's single player last night. Fun game (and for the 2 bucks I paid for it used I can't complain). Not sure what I'm going to move onto next though.

Leaderboard is set to total TA this week.

While we're on the subject Dandies, do we have any long term hopes and dreams we want dashed regarding the GTASC, or are we just living the dream of not being week 1 eliminated? ;)

SaintFaucet wrote:

As I recall, Bonus said he wanted the Dandies to make it past his birthday since we were eliminated around then last year. While he isn't on the B team this year, I'd still like to honor the spirit of that wish.

Check!

making it out of January was Goal#1 for me.

If we make it into March, I feel like we'll have acquitted ourselves admirably.

Check! (even if we 'go out' this week).

If we make it into Q2 (i.e. April), I feel like we'll have done amazingly. To make it beyond that, I suspect that one or more of us will need to become a Gamer Without a Job.

So there we have it Dandies, we're now into Dream territory! Can we make it to April? Who knows, but it surely is a fun ride!

Are Dark Messiah of Might & Magic and/or El Shaddai worth the purchase? Seems hard to pass up either for just $3 each.

I'd heard that Dark Messiah was the best bootkicking simulator of 2006, and I liked the demo, so I'll probably pick that up. I was less impressed with the El Shaddai demo, but at $3, I'll likely grab that too.

Minarchist loved El Shaddai, so it's probably artsy with some sort of solid and interesting mechanic but half the people will hate it.

Don't know about the cheevo side.

I bit for $3.

Spot on! I imported it from the UK on Min's recommendation. What I played of it I liked. If it's not one of those daily GoD deals, there used to be a demo online so you could always try before you buy.

A bit of warning to you, my cheevo-loving brothers and sisters: You may be tempted to pick up Nexuiz for 200 spacebucks as part of the THQ firesale. I'd warn you not to since the Xbox servers have been reported as permanently offline thanks to the THQ bankruptcy (making 10 of the 12 achievements unattainable).

Also if you haven't gotten it yet, the Forza 2 achievement "Car Broker" (buy or sell 10 cars online in the auction house) will be unattainable after March 15th. Apparently Microsoft is taking the auction house offline (though apparently the rest of the online multiplayer will be left up).

I highly recommend it. If you're wondering about cheevs, I think 16 (of 49) are for multiplayer, and require 8 players, so... good luck with those.

I grabbed both yesterday. Not too fussed about the multiplayer achievements in DMMM, as I usually skip MP anyway. Not even going to try it for a 6 year old game. The SP ones looks okay though.

Keep up the good work, Dandies!

Looks like we are 6 places clear, but only by a margin of 200, so I'm going to try and put some up now.

It's going to be close Dandies, fingers crossed, and hopefully catch you on the other side?!?!

I just found a copy of Pictionary for the UDraw hidden, so I popped 363TA on that. What a f*cking chore some parts of that are!?!?

We've got close to a 600 point lead now, and 14 places away from elemination, so any extra could be good, but may not be vital

You have got to be kidding me. 1 POINT?!?!?!

Ah well. We had a good run Dandies. Good luck CiA2.0!

I just saw that too! Laughed my arse off.

We did good Dandies, we did good. I guess now I can start playing Skyrim

Good jobs guys! Better luck next time.

Good job, Dandies! Next year, week 9! If you can keep up this pace, you'll make it through all 52 weeks in 2054.

Kind of disappointed but at least now I don't have to focus on playing the "right" games and just play what I feel like without a hint of guilt.

We've got another week with no elimination because of the DLC recalculation on TA.

Leaderboard is set to TA ratio this week.

Is anyone with Tomb Raider interested in boosting the multiplayer achievements? I think with a group of three we can get most of them. I'm in the Eastern time zone and should be free every night except Tuesday this week.
