I logged in to get some Happy Dollars as an incentive they had down here. I'll dig into the tute as well and see if it grabs me. Looks like Castle Crashers, but on speed.

I think it's more of a Dota-clone / MOBA / LOMA than a brawler, but I've never played anything else in that genre so I'm not sure if that's accurate.

Leaderboard set to total TA this week.

I played some Kinect Adventures with my GF on Saturday night, but of course only she was signed in at the time. We're probably going to play more during the week, so I'll probably put up some points from that.

I meant to play Happy Wars and try out at least the rest of the tutorial, but didn't really play much Sunday aside from Walking Dead.

I'm thinking of getting into Happy Wars too. Anyone who plays it: can I expect to get dominated by people who've spent 100 real-world dollars on OP unlocks?

I have played and I am ranked 27. You have to play the multiplayer to get through the story line mode. What I do is play the co-op mode with other people against the AI. There is a mode to play against other people, but I stay away from that. Not because of people who spent tons of money. I just like playing with other people against the AI better. Right now I have 17 of the 20 chievos trying to get one more quest done. The last part of the story mode done and the last which is going through all of your powers in multiplayer mode.

I am having fun playing when I can and if you ever see me on, I will be happy to play.

I did that and then promptly popped a f*cking cheev for 'getting my first victory'... Seems like a lot of fun though. I might just get into it myself.

Right on -- doesn't sound too prohibitive! Thanks for the insight. Do more people tend to play the coop mode then, over the competitive?

It is hard to say since I don't really play the "competitive" that much. It seems that when the system gathers the people the levels of people vary. I wouldn't take the game very seriously, but you should be able to get most of the achievements quickly.

Now you have everyone's attention

Dandies, how is the weekend looking for you guys? Busy or not busy?

Just wondering if I need to pull some rabbits or FO:3 out of the hat or if you'll have time to play this weekend? Good either way, just wanting to know how to modify my own gaming time on Saturday evening.

EDIT:
At this stage, I think I'll plan on putting a couple of hours into Kinect Joy Ride. I was working through this as my last title on the previous GTASC if I remember correctly. Good scores on the 'do 30 events' cheevs.

Today's the first day I'll actually be able to play this week. I pretty much have this afternoon and tomorrow free so I should hopefully be able to put up a couple of hundred points or so. I'm thinking of finally finishing off War for Cybertron and maybe cracking back into either Dirt 3 or Child of Eden.

I don't know that I'm going to have a lot of time to game. I have a Fallout 3 PC nuclear button too.

In fact, on that note, can someone with some PC master-race genes tell this hairy console neanderthal how to push that nuclear button?

Should be able to cut/paste from an editor into the console.

Ta muchly. I can already feel my spine straightening and my brow receding.

Dandies - I think I'm gonna go ahead and drop the FO3 nuke (bye bye Megaton!). We're languishing in the elimination zone right now, and even with m0nk's efforts, I'm skeptical that we're in the clear.

EDIT - or not

This is exactly the reason why I don't play PC games. Console games work. PC games require eldritch knowledge, mystical incantations and hoop-jumping that I apparently skipped the classes for.

Installed FO3 off steam. Press PLAY in Steam. It launches the FO3 splash screen, I click PLAY on that, the splash screen goes away, I get the hourglass cursor for a handful of seconds, then nothing happens. No Fallout-related tasks running in Task Manager. No error messages. Nothing.

No free achievements for me. Monkeyboy - you might want to pull the trigger yourself, 'cos I'm f***ed if I know how to make this work.

Earlier I was going to add this:

And then your spine doubles over and your brow furrows, trying to get everything to work.

Uninstall GFWL from the control panel. Make sure you have .NET 3.5 or higher installed, and then install the current GFWL client from http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/pc/do...

The GFWL client that shipped with FO3 relied on .NET 3.0b1, which was an abortion that doesn't work. Get the newest client, and you shouldn't have the CTDs.

I will try all of these things this evening... We shall prevail!

Spoiler:

re FO:3. There may be even more stupid questions from this Mac user for the last 20 years.

I'm fairly certain I have the most recent GFWL client running, will installing FO3 overwrite the new with old? I know it doesn't in Macland, but just checking PCs don't do dumbarse things like that.

Through the powers of Bonus' wizardry, the game launches, and crashes the second I select New Game. It's progress of a sort, I assume.

I honestly marvel that anyone plays these f***ing things.

I'm downloading now, it's a third the way through the monstrous 9GB GOTY download, so it should be good by the time I get home after work tonight.

Don't sweat it if it gives you the sh*ts Jonman. I've got about 5 Kinect titles I can dive this evening and get some runs on the board well before the next elimination, even if I get up again at 5am, and get in three more hours before the 8am elimination (local times).

I love this stuff

OK. Panic over. I can't actually play the damn game, but I *can* cheese cheevs through the console. Working my way through them (Bonus was kind enough to send me a text file that I could copy and paste in except that, of course, I can't paste stuff into it because PC games.

Sweet! We can keep my aces for later then. I might rip through a few Kinect Cheevs anyway, incase any of the other teams are sitting on similar hands. I'll check the margins after work, which will be in about 8 hours time, and make a call from there.

Nice work J-man

Worse comes to worst, just type in 'addachievement 1', hit Enter, then hit up and change the 1 to a 2, then repeat through 72

I had FO:3 up and running last night and played through until a cheev popped, so looks like this panic button is ready to roll at my end when we need it.

I'm going to focus on my Kinect Pile this month, so March, get ready for the Dandies, we're coming to visit!

While we're on the subject Dandies, do we have any long term hopes and dreams we want dashed regarding the GTASC, or are we just living the dream of not being week 1 eliminated?

My kids and wife are addicted to it. Play the Multi-Player and you'll get a good feel for it.

And if you get tired of that I am available on 360 for Far Cry 3 co-op farming tonight and tomorrow

Yeah I like it a whole lot, but today I've had a lot of issues with the games dropping. That could be XBL or my internet.
