Fallout: New Vegas - Fall 2010

Lol. To contrast, Rage features some rather fetching post-apocalyptic ladies, sans stash.

Haha. I often found myself talking to the ladies in Rage more often than I normally would.

I don't plan on purchasing rage soon so a screenshot would help me decide if this is true...

Here are a couple of them.

Yikes. I'll have to agree!

Just finished at 57 hours. I was doing a bunch of side missions but at 40 hours just focused on the main mission.

I used Boone and Cass mostly. Finished with an Independent New Vegas.

I liked the way they did the endings.

Finally, I have to learn to stop handicapping myself by carrying 15 weps around!

Get the underground hideout mod and put them on the wall. It looks really cool having all your weapons on the wall and just picking 2 or 3 to go to town with.

Post-apocalyptic ladies know that exposed midriffs are de rigueur.

And to veer back on topic: I really need to get back onto FNV. Maybe when Game Dump 2011 ends in a couple of months.

Why did I just waste my time doing this? I don't know. Here are the Subway Town Ladies:

Don't judge me!

Last one?

Think we are still missing Olive and Elisabeth and a few others.

Finished Old World Blues. I'm glad to be done with it. As much as I enjoyed the story, every enemy in the zone was a massive bullet sponge. I don't know if it was because I was in the low 40's level wise or what but yeesh. I burned through all my .308 ammo only a 1/4 of the way in.

Since I am so close to done with the main game I immediately started Lonesome Road. Wow, is it short. I think I've got less than four hours in it and I am standing outside of Ulysses's Temple.

I went through almost exclusively unarmed (burning Saturnite fist) around level 30 and I was one and two-shotting most of the enemies. Since the character I used had 100 skill in both guns and unarmed I could easily swap between the two and there was just no reason for me to use guns other than as a change of pace. Honestly it seemed completely unbalanced. Of course it also seemed like that expansion pack was more about energy based weapons so I wonder how energy users experience stacked up?

I used the gun they give you (forget what it was called; the oscilloscope thing) and only remember having trouble once (got swarmed by roboscorpions up near the entrance to Dr. Mobius' place). I had energy weapons 90.

I used the named gauss gun. It 2 shots pretty much anything.

Well it looks like I can't finish this. I can't get to the Boomers. After trying dozens of times I hit up some video guides and it appears that, for everyone else, the boomers don't start shelling until they're within sprint of the first building.

When I do it they start shelling the second I take a step past the old dude on the road and, even if I manage to stimpack my way through, the house everyone else takes cover in provides absolutely zero cover for me and I die every time.

Stealthing or stealthboying does nothing. The firing starts right on schedule.

Tried going through the tunnel and the shells started landing the second the loading screen cleared as I exited the door.

*ragequit*

I take a hard left along the cliff face down to the fenceline then run along the fenceline to the gate, they don't seem to shell there.

No, this is definitely a bug. They shell me continuously whenever I'm within range (which extends out as far as timmy's well) regardless of my status with them. I made it in there with 12 stimpacks and 3 doses of turbo and they still keep shelling me. I'm working around it with judicious use of fast travel at the moment.

So you've gotten to Nellis at least once, but the Boomers keep shelling you even though you've talked with them?

I was going to suggest using console commands to get there the first time (if you're playing on PC, that is), but now it sounds like you've got something like this known bug with no fix that I can find:

Fallout wiki[/url]]It's possible to enter Nellis AFB at the gate via non-player character conversation in the middle of an active artillery barrage, unfortunately after doing so however, you continue to be barraged when leaving Nellis AFB later on.

(The page that's from is full of spoilers for the quest Volare!.)

I haven't played NV in a while, but I've had a huge "bug" affecting my game as well-- I used Boone for 75% of the game, but dismissed him to take and follow Cass's storyline. Even after dozens of game days having passed, he has STILL not returned to Novac and I have no idea how to ever find him again. Playing on the 360, so no way to fiddle with any console commands.

If you have the suite at the Lucky 38 then companions go there instead of their starting location, depending on if you asked them to leave or go back to base. Have you looked to see if he is there? (Companions wander around inside the suite so you may have to look for him.)

Yes, I've looked there.

So, here's another gem-- I tried playing FO:NV right now for the first time in a few months, and I get a prompt that a new update is available. I click OK, and it tells me there is an error and I cannot download the update. I checked my system settings and the network connection is working perfectly. WTF?

Right click and go into properties. Look at the auto update options. Make sure it isn't on do not auto update. Also use the verify integrity option.

If that works make sure to turn off auto update.

Worked itself out somehow... not sure what happened.

Fallout: New Vegas Ultimate Edition coming out in February, $49.99 for Xbox and PlayStation, $39.99 for PC.

Anyone seen this?

It seems there's a Puce Moose fan club.

Thanks for posting the link! I did an email interview with George last week but I didn't know it was already uploaded.

As well there should be!

I played FO:NV for the first time in a few months, and was curious as to what the ramifications of my actions might be re: Caesar's fort.

Spoiler:

I've played the game up to this point as a pretty loyal NCR person. I got the first chip, and was invited to go to the Legion fort to get the other one. I went there, turned on the bots for Mr. House, and then pretty much just went on a murder spree throughout the encampment. Using a ton of stimpacks, I killed Caesar, all his underlings, and anyone else that moved. I guess my question is this-- did I screw up anything by doing this?

Nope, you'll be fine; even if a certain figure is no longer part of the equation, the war machine keeps on rolling. Obviously you'll miss out on a couple of possible side-quests from a certain person because of that, but based on your affiliations it's unlikely you would have been sympathetic to their concerns anyway.
