Fallout: New Vegas - Fall 2010

The next FO game by Obsidian, now with teaser trailer. I have to wonder if this one will 'stick around' as long as FO3 did with expansions and mod-ability that Bethesda's titles have been.

I definitely didn't get the usual Fallout vibe from it, but there's no way in hell I'm not buying it. Also, congrats on your tagging.

I'm hopeful.

That's interesting, because this is the first trailer since Bethesda got ahold of the franchise that has really felt like the original Fallout to me.

I'm excited to see how this turns out.

Someone on the Kotaku comments mentioned the rumour (well, "leak") of different 'origin'-like stories for your character. One is, of course, a Vault Dweller, but the other sounded far more interesting: An invading Chinese soldier who took a hefty blast of radiation when the bombs hit and is now a ghoul. Ghoul protagonist!

I'm very curious to see if they are making any core changes to the game or if it is mostly a new setting. Never did finish Fallout 3 although I really enjoyed it... should get back to it one of these days. Kinda got distracted by all the downloadable content.

I think a little pee just came out.

The thing that mainly interests me about this is the new (or old, a.k.a. Black Isle) developer. I found all of Bethesda's titles in the gamebyro engine (TES 3, 4, FO3) to feel a bit wooden and stiff, very 'workmanlike' that ticks all the boxes but never quite brings me into the world.

I just hope it's less buggy. That was my only complaint about Fallout 3. That, and it just made me want a Rifts game more.

Black Isle/Obsidian have never been known for their stable, bug-free releases.

They've never really been given the time but I'm interested in Alpha Protocal and Fallout: New Vegas. I'm liking the trailer but i would have rather seen some gameplay footage. I expect it to have a better story/quests than the Bethesda title.

This is easily my most anticipated title of 2010. Can Not Wait!

Even so, on the strength of their writing, I will buy anything Obsidian ever does until the end of time.

There, I said it.

I'll have to be a dissenter here. That looked terrible. The robot made no sense. The fully built up and lit up city? Meh. I think I'll wait for a 50% off weekend sale.

Yay... more Fallout!

The robot didn't make sense, true. I don't have a problem with the built-up city though. New Reno was a pretty hopping place in Fallout 2.

I just hope this game has an ending that don't suck.

Amen, Brother Quintin, amen.

Wait, this is a new game, not an expansion?

I guess I should play Fallout 3 now, shouldn't I.

Does this mean I should put NMA back in my RSS feed?
Damn it.

I think NMA will be ok with this one because of the developer.

They have a great Fallout news RSS feed. Just don't read the comments.

Nothing good comes out of NMA. Ever.

SO hard to tell anything from a teaser. The teaser for Fallout 3 was cool and this one is cool but neither really show any gameplay. Obsidian has produced good enough games for me to be very interested, of course they have also produced buggy enough games for me to wait until some other sucker tries it first.

NMA can not be content with any new Fallout. By definition. The mood on those boards is such that only negative opinions are accepted, if the opinion isnt negative enough, it gets shouted down by the mob. It`s a self-reinforcing loop.

Was that a claptrap?

New Vegas certainly looks like a hoppin city, definitely looking forward to this coming out!

Just took a look at the FO3 trailer, and that was mainly (possibly excluding the radio) done with game assets, I'm not sure if the FO:NV one was as well.

Interesting to see that the NCR looks like they'll be cast as villains, from the trailer.

I always kind of liked Shady Sands.

I glanced over their forums, and they look pretty excited about this trailer.

The NCR flag was cool to see. The shadowy figure also has a pipboy, I think.

There better be no Games For Windows Live in this one!

But yeah, most anticipated of 2010.

The Official Site[/url]]Is Fallout New Vegas a Games for Windows title? Will it require Windows?
Fallout: New Vegas is a Games for Windows title. As such, you’ll be able to use an Xbox 360 controller if you choose. New Vegas will run with Windows XP, Vista, and Windows 7.
