Archer on FX

So does anyone have ideas as to what direction the gang will be heading into next season?

Your Turn Go had a bit of a sit down with Casey Willis and while he naturally didn't really talk about the future of archer (they where talking as old friends do), but some things where mentioned. Like how the power structure of ISIS will change greatly and there will be a lot of change beside that.

Three parts, the first and the last one has some mentions and "insider talk" about Archer:

So umm, yeah that just happened.

Glorious

Are we still doing phrasing?

Not available in my country?
We'll see about that.

Season starts tonight!

Double post!

Sooo excited! I've been ignoring TV lately to focus on gaming but will definitively take a break for this.

On a slightly related note, I watched a Magnum PI rerun the other night because of the Archer remake. Acting is still good and it's funny to see all the early 80s fashion. By the standards of the time it's progressive but by modern standards it's very non PC.

A couple weeks behind but the plot of episode 3 (Deadly Prep) is apparently the plot of Fletch.

Boosh!

and or Ka-Kow!

that was probably my favourite episode of the last 2-3 seaons

The Bob Ross joke was hilarious!

I mean there was nothing about Krieger this episode that was not funny.

This season's jokes are landing with me far more frequently than last season's.

While I was watching the starting credits I was thinking that Lucky Yates was being under utilised. Then Evil Nazi Bob Ross Knieval happened.

This isn't the last season for Archer, is it? Because the first scene of the first episode is going to be hard for them to work around.

The show hasn't been officially picked up beyond this season yet, but Adam Reed has said, "Archer’s going to be a private eye for a while - beyond this season". (And in the same article, "I sort of have the end in mind, I just am hoping it’s a long time from now…")

Ratings are apparently holding pretty strong, so doesn't seem likely the plug is going to get pulled imminently.

The ending of the latest episode was kind of creepy. At least now I suspect how we wrap around to the beginning of the season while still being able to carry on.

Promos for Archer: Dreamland have been airing, looks like they are avoiding the consequences of the s7 finale by reworking the show again as a film noir set in the 1940's.
I still really like Archer, but the constant and dramatic flailing around over the last 3-4 seasons doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in it's future. It makes it feel like Adam Reed is bored with making the show but feels pressured to keep doing so by it's success.

Yeah... I've kind of stopped being interested.

Said Ripley to the Android Bishop.

This Help?

Can't watch de vids Country thingy, hate that bs.

I'm still super into Archer. Currently it is my favorite show. Probably because I'm morally bankrupt, but whatever.

We (wife, daughter, and I) still love Archer. Many lines have infiltrated our daily language: phrasing, sploosh/blorp, you're not my supervisor, danger zone, hang on/shut up, yup yup yup.

Love it

\ Werd to Still In. Archer has always been more about the wit and character and interaction than the plot events. Say, how Barry is Archer's nemesis is more interesting and distinctive than what Barry does as Archer's nemesis.

I find myself not anticipating the new season, but I have no doubt I'll enjoy it. Archer is pretty special in that the execution almost always transcends the basic ideas. I held off for years on watching because the premise sounded unappealing.

Turns out I was very wrong, but that's taught me not to prejudge an Archer season.

Incidentally, whoever chooses to upload promotional materials and region lock them can suck a bag of dicks.

Didn't really like the first episode of the new season. I found it rather sad than funny.

That's a bummer - I didn't have a chance to watch it yet but I was looking forward to the premise. Did they at least hint at what happened after last season ?

It starts at the final scene of last season.
Mild spoilers about the basic premise:

Spoiler:

Archer is in a coma and this season takes place in his mind.

I liked it but it's definitely grimmer than normal.

The aftermath from last season is played out and might be main reason for the current season. I hope that isn't the case.

Spoiler for the episode

Spoiler:

Archer is still alive but in a coma. Most of the episode takes place in his head. It looks like the entire season might be in Archer's head. I really don't like "it was all a dream" episodes or seasons.

The thing that made it sad was that Woodhouse dies in this episode. So it is kind of a tribute to the actor that died in real life. Archer spends the episode trying to find his killer. This is looking like it might be a season long thing. With the lack of jokes and knowledge of knowing the actor died the episode was very depressing to me.
