How did you find GWJ?

"Mang I need some cheetos up ins penny."

I came over from gamecritics.com when that community started to die off.

Searching for gaming podcasts. Stuck around for the forum after a few months of lurking.

This.

Similar to clever id and MeatMan. When I was running the short-lived Ottawa Geek Squad store, I used to have some half shifts where I was by myself and I didn't have nearly enough podcasts to keep myself entertained. Did some searching and found the old Gamers With Jobs Radio show which I really liked and was stunned by the quality of the forums here. Lurked for a couple of weeks then jumped in and I've hung around like a bad flu ever since.

For you ex-GoneGolders (and Overlords), who were you back in those days?

I am "Jeff Jones" from GG and OO, and GamingTrend. I had about 7000 posts on GG, and 3000 each on OO and GT. Moderated for a while at GT after the GG fiasco.

I've always been very creative with my internet handles.

Heya Jeff. My handle has always been DonD, though in online games I modify it to DonD_GT (Gaming Trend), which I identified more with when I was more into consoles. I remember racing with you a few years back. Ah, the good old days.

I didn't land on GWJ. GWJ landed on me.

EA exodus here. Coming up on six years now, I think?

Rounding on seven years, actually.

I found GWJ on a garbage pile in a forgotten corner of my brain. I dusted it off and put a funny hat on it.

I was a teenager when I first started posting here.... I feel old now. Thanks!

Like many others, I wandered in after the collapse of GFW Radio. Mr. Elliot mentioned that it was a good podcast and community, so I checked it out. I think I lurked for a couple weeks, found the TF2 group, signed up and made it my mission to get on Stan's private server.

And now you cant get rid of me! Well, except Certis. He might be able to get rid of me.

I blame Quintin. He was saying some crazy stuff about me and I had to come here to set the matter straight and while I was here I decided I liked it. His evil plan worked.

A friend (dimmerswitch) said I needed to give TF2 a shot, and this was the community to hook into. I stayed because of the high level of maturity and the excellent sense of community. The forums really feel like my home on the wilds of the internets

Four years ago I was searching for "game forums" on Google and landed on the GWJ doorstep. This has been my virtual home every since.

One day my brother (Jayhawker) called me up and told me he had won an Xbox 360. I had been telling him to get one for a while, but he really couldn't afford it at the time, so winning one was great. I asked him how he had won it, and he told me that he had donated money to some gaming web-site called Gamers with Jobs, and he had won a drawing for their grand prize.

I figured I should check out the site, and here I am.

Originally stumbled upon the site due to Sway's Infinite Lives comics, but never really paid much attention to the rest of the site. It wasn't until one of Fletcher's articles (probably linked from /.) that I dug a little deeper and discovered the great community that lived here and registering.

Gonegold -> Bill Harris -> here.

Surfing around for Gaming sites while I was in Iraq. Chit chatted with Certis, set the record for fastest time to getting a tag (you can get bored at times in the desert), wrote an article for GWJ and got slashdotted, and have been around ever since. GWJ was a great outlet through all my deployments, but especially for my time in the desert.

How fast? I think I might have beaten you due to similar amounts of boredom at work

Found it via Podcast on Zune Marketplace.

I am devious and wily.

One of these days I'll pull that off with Mrs AnimeJ.

The podcast I found through GFW Radio. I started lurking on the boards after the 1Up Community Boards emptied out and started to suck (suck worse) than they had been.

Yep. I think it was Jeff Green making a guest appearance on the podcast coupled with the agonizing death of GFW Radio/LAN party that brought me over.

I forget how I originally stumbled onto the site (the Source leak sounds about like the right timeframe), but I lurked for a while. I finally registered around the time I bought WoW. This was probably my first post in the forums.

I was listening to Joystiq and Justin McElroy listed a few podcasts he really liked, and here I am.

(At 44, I've just managed to buy my first Ipod. How I ever survived without GWJ, GiantBomb, Joystiq and Analog Hole Gaming, I do not know. Must be my tenacious Irish genes.)

I've been sitting here for 30 minutes trying to remember, but I just can't. So lets just blame Quentin and get on with it.

I think I'm of the "Ken Levine interview for BioShock" vintage, though I had been listening to the Conference Calls over the summer. I will say that interview, and Rabbit, are basically responsible for my purchase of a 360 and BioShock.

His enthusiasm for that game in the run-up -- and well-earned, too -- was just infectious.

And, apropos of not much else, I've been listening to the Simpsons commentaries lately, and vocally Rabbit is a spitting-image (earmage?) of showrunner Al Jean. Just sayin'.

I started lurking after being linked here for the source code leak, but eventually dropped away for a bit. Then I was drawn back when someone linked to "Best Buy Bodhisattva", and I lurked up until this past...March, according to my account, when I finally decided to post. And I've been making inane and nonsensical posts ever since!

I was/am a huge follower of anything Bethesda does, Elder Scrolls wise, and I recall Certis and Fletcher interviews Todd Howard in relation to Oblivion. I lurked around the forums, mostly listening to GWJ Radio and when that folded and Fletcher fled to a higher paying gig I kinda drifted away.

I can't remember what got me back into the community, something, at some point. Joined roughly this time last year, and having a great time forging towards my tag

I can't even remember anymore. I think my first post was on an article Certis wrote about picking up D&D again. Jesus christ, it's coming up on six years of Goodjerdom.

I am another of the GFW escapees... Dammit I need to fill 40+ hours of work time with...something cheap

Joystiq's podcasts of the week led me here and I've never left. I think it was around Bioshock, maybe a little earlier.
