I can't even access GWJ at work.

3 more hints. If no one gets it by tomorrow, I'll post a different movie about that same thing.

This can't be right but...

Cannonball Run?

Close. I think it is the Gary Busey knockoff that came out shortly after. Forgot the name of it but it’s obviously going for the same audience.

It is not the Cannonball Run. You are very close Paleo but your timeline is wrong, this movie came out 4 years before Cannonball Run.

Obviously... Street Machine!

Wow. I had to look it up and you are right. It did come out earlier. I always figured it was a copycat knock off like Star Crash was to Star Wars.

A very young Raul Julia and Gary Busey before his face melted.

Heh. No, this is The Gumball Rally. A different film about the sea to shining sea memorial trophy dash that was also the subject of the Cannonball Run.

We'll pivot to this:

A very awesome Raul Julia who pilots the Ferrari and starts by removing the rear view mirror saying something along the lines of 'its useless because what's behind me does not matter'.

Torque?

Yes! A movie so dumb it makes 2 fast 2 furious seem like oscar bait.

I can't remember the title, but that movie is definitely the GOAT.

It is pretty much is.

Let's give it one last shot:

I mean, it's William Powell again, so... The Thinner Man? 2 Thin 2 Man? That's about all I got.

It's not After the Thin Man, no. Neither is it Another Thin Man, nor Shadow of the Thin Man. Or one of the other two sequels. Because Nick Charles doesn't buttle.

It's My Man Godfrey.

Free play.

Dashiell Hammett really painted himself into a corner with that title. The titular "Thin Man" was a murder victim and so of course that character doesn't appear in any of the sequels. But they wanted the name recognition, I'm assuming, so the sequels all similarly named.

Before he was famous.

Same film.

Hellraiser: Hellworld?

Correct!

Hellworld was better than most of the other direct-to-video Hellraiser movies, but it was very obviously a non-Hellraiser screenplay shoehorned into the Hellraiser franchise.

Yeah, most Hellraisers past Bloodline were existing scripts retrofitted to include Pinhead so the Weinsteins could put out a movie and hang on to the rights. About the first original script written was for the ashcan movie they made in a week.
