Name that movie thread

Tuffalo's movie has to be some sort of Joan of Arc thing, but I don't know enough about old Joan of Arc movies to hazard a guess.

Yep! It's The Passion of Joan of Arc. It's a silent film, and I got to see it last weekend with a giant live performance of a score written in the 60s with orchestra, choir, and solo vocalists. It was very cool although the movie is kind of a huge bummer to watch story-wise.

Edit: Plenty close, so you're up!

Nice. Silent movies with live orchestras are cool.

Speaking of movies that are a huge bummer...

Ooooo! Mags Bennett (Margo Martindale). Now you just make me want to watch Season 2 of Justified again.

She's awesome in Sneaky Pete, too. But neither that nor Justified are movies. So.

Million Doller Baby

That's what I instantly thought, but I was wondering if my memory was off since I've only seen it once.

I haven't seen it yet, but the aesthetics look like they match what I've seen of trailers & whatnot

Gotta be the roof scene from Blade Runner 2049.

Deakins better win that goddamn Oscar.

Cinematography is the only thing that movie's up for, right? Yeah, I hope it wins for that.

Tanglyperson is up!

Yay for guessing!

Paycheck?

If not, is it Thank you for Smoking? Don't remember that scene if so, but I figure it might be given today's news.

Yup! Going with the PKD connection.

Ah, completely didn't pick up on that. My brain simply saw the light and thought it had that cheap scifi sheen.

Ummmmmmmmm, one sec.

Judd Apatow was actually in front of the camera in a movie?

Looks recent, too, because he's a little gray.

The making of The Room?

Well, that's incredibly close!

Gotta be The Disaster Artist then. Free play.
