Medal of Honor (Modern Era version) revealed

I'm a sucker for most DICE games regardless, but this actually looks good. Pre Ordering now doesnt bother because i know i'll buy it.

Tagged for goodness..

Unlockable beards for your character - I'm sold.

I was just about to pre-order on Steam, and then I saw the $60 price tag. I did a double-take to make sure it wasn't Activision or Ubisoft publishing :P, but there it is. Now I'm a little hesitant because I know I want the game, but I don't know if I want to support the continuation of this trend.

So, is the multiplayer basically going to be a battlefield game? Are their classes?

49,99€ - at least it's not 60EURO. MP seems to be the product of BC2 raping MW2 and the latter keeping the baby.

I had the same thought but will wait and see. Didn't see a lot in the way of destructible environments either but hopefully the beta will clear that up.

I'm pretty sure there are no classes though, you simply configure your operator in the load out of your choice.

Yeah, I couldn't see the difference between that trailer and what we have already. If the MoH SP respects its real life inspiration then that will be something. The MP trailer just looks like BC2 in MW2's maps.

IMO, the trailer didn't really show a lot that was useful to working out the gameplay. It showed a lot of flashy quick cuts to show the action. Give it a week and there will be all the youtube footage you could ever want.

Might be shopping for a different pre-order

Multi looks inoffensive to me. Details would be nice. I'm more interested in the campaign.

+1. I'll preorder anyway because I do want to play the campaign, and then find out what the multiplayer is like this weekend. But I don't see why I wouldn't still be busy with BC2 and, at some point, BC2:Vietnam, when this hits.

Damn the $60 PC game trend.

It looks like MW and BF had a baby! This video and article offers some interesting tidbits some folks may not have seen yet. No destruction 2.0 and tangential vehicle combat. Unlockable beards and configuration...hmmm...very interesting. The maps look like they have a lot of potential.

The more I read, the less I'm interested in the MP.

I might get it for the SP. I'll probably try the MP, but it looks like it's a lot of the same stuff that didn't keep me interested in MW2.

I'm on the fence. If the kill combo's and "perks" are reasonable it might not be as frustrating as MW, maybe....if people can't run around like rabbits with knives or tracking me down with a heartbeat sensor, I'll be game.

Here's another video of multiplayer combat.

That's from the press conference demo.

Which brings the question I had during the demo: Why do I need close ups of the hands and controllers of the players?

No death-cam makes me a happy camper

Ugh, I'm getting sick of DICE's stubbornness. No lean and prone in this one as well! How having more options for making the game more diverse and interesting and dynamic equals a game that isn't as fun? Have they played CoD4?
If CoDBO delivers on the MP, MoH can go engage in sexual activities with itself.

That does look amazing, though.

Like it matters? A death-cam makes no difference when all you do is run around stabbing people.

I'm trying to get through the vid but it's chuggin' away pretty slowly. I believe I had read in an earlier GI interview that they would be building the lean functionality in. I assumed it was for both the campaign and multiplayer, maybe not?

To see the sweet black nail polish on that lady's fingers!

In all seriousness, after reading that IGN article, I'm back on board. I love me some objective-based combat.

I call shenanigans! Seriously, WTF. Here's a crazy notion, how about you incorporate those elements into a hardcore mode, that way everyone is happy? It's the absurdity of MW's "fast pace" play mentality that's kept me from going back to it. That sentiment is exactly why you have folks running around getting the majority of their kills using a tactical knife on other players. I'm must be totally freakin' crazy to think that since other games incorporated it they too could make it work.

The game still looks like a lot of fun but DICE isn't winning any points (in my book)for creativity. They seem to be borrowing heavily from the MW playbook frankly. They're not going to be number one imitating IW, oh wait, maybe they will now that IW has imploded.

No real Destruction 2.0? News flash DICE, that's one of the main elements that sets your game apart. Why not just admit that D2.0 can't be sustained on complicated urban maps on the current generation of console hardware...

Grumble...grumble...grumble.

After watching that video, I've actually lost interest. If you told me that was Modern Warfare 3, I'd believe you, and care about as much. I definitely want to rent this for the campaign, but it looks like I'll save myself the $5 and trip to the shop this weekend. Cutting away to the douche with the wrist bands and black nail colour, and Comic Book Guy, also factored into this decision. Guilt by association, I guess.

I also thought unlockable beards was a joke. Faith in Medal of Honor reboot fading, fading...

Has anyone heard anything about walking in the game? Some people will decide to walk which will give an advantage to those who run all the time so they could remove that as well. Not to mention that it will slow the game...
(watch the 11min video I posted, it's better than 1min. MP trailer)

grumpy grumpy

Why shoot when you can stab? It conserves ammo that way.

Still hate trying to be a sniper and have a good position blown because of the death-cam.

As for the fussing about lean and prone. Its a bit amusing because if that stuff was in there there would still be the same amount of Female Doggoing but about the pace of the game or someone takes advantage them and gets called an exploiter. I know in BC2 that there's places that if i'd be able to go prone i'd go there and never leave if i was playing a sniper.

People think there's too many snipers now and frustrated with them. Just imagine prone in game. There would be double or triple the number of snipers and they wouldnt be as easy to kill.

The maps look amazing

My biggest worry is seeing that laser sighted M60.

Honestly, there are a few things that still bother me about MoH, but not enough to stop me from pre-ordering. If anything, the beta will help me decide if the CoD-style multiplayer is something I'm still interested in playing.

I would wade a sea of snipers if it meant I could drop prone behind cover. DICE claims it slows down gameplay but it doesn't seem to be the case in MW, why should it be a problem here? It just rewards twitch players. I'm sure I'm blowing it out of proportion but I just loathe unnatural restrictions like this, especially since they are successfully implemented in other games.

Don't give up Gravey! There's still hope!

Not that this is directly related, but in CoD4, I absolutely hated when people would automatically drop to prone the second they saw another person. I believe prone is a useful stance when used correctly, but that kind of tactic cheapens the whole thing and is one of the reasons why I don't miss it in BFBC2 and won't in MoH when playing with pubbies.

Anyway, anyone else in for the early access beta for tomorrow on PC?
