Can I guess the setup? One softbox flash with at least three close negative fill sheets surrounding the subject. What color was the balloon? Did you play with color filters to maximize the b&w sharpness?

Big Beautidish on the left, and a snoot / barndoor on the left (if I recall correctly, but looking at her hair, I think it was). Right was a softbox which was off, but the cloth reflected some light.
Hasselblad H5D50c wifi with a 50-110mm at 70mm, F9.5 1/250 shutter. I just love camera's with a leaf shutter - no worries about syncing and all.
The balloon is a plasticy white garden-lamp, which gives a lot of fun to play around with
On a whim of insanity, I bought a chapel in the woods which turned out to be a great buy: having your own studio with loads of windows and light is a blessing
