Any photographers in the house?

Top two pics brilliant, especially like the second.

Great shots! I've actually been to the Eastern State Penitentiary, and also took photos, but yours are WAY better. Also, that place is amazing.

Referring probably to the people who smashed the windows? (probably?)

Oh - those were firemen - there was a pretty serious fire there a month or so ago.

Oh that sucks too, but, yeah, I thought it was vandalism.

So back in August I went on a backpacking trip in Banff National Park with some friends. It's taken til now for me to actually sit down and edit my RAW shots, and I think a few turned out pretty okay.

Mr. Dragon took these two (spot the ram in the second one):

Pretty! Looks like that was a fun place to visit!

Thanks! It was an awesome trip. Hoping we can do another backpacking trip soon, maybe after a bit more training though!

I really like the photos, ActualDragon! More training is always good, but you've definitely got a good eye to begin with.

On my end, I finally got my wish, and with the combination of Kittylexy's bonus and an OK tax refund, I finally picked up the 100-400mm lens and 1.4x teleconverter for my Fuji system!

Nice... the 100-400 seems like a lot of fun, but I dot think I care enough about birds and wild life to really consider it.

Lets Smash168 - quality, love it.

Next time out, I'm using a filter for the lens too, so the background is a bit less lost

Thanks! I meant conditioning for backpacking but more training with the camera is definitely in order too!

Love your shots. I've found that I really like capturing wildlife so I'll have to look more into better tools for that. I've got a 75-300mm lens that does pretty well for it, but focusing on small creatures and holding a steady shot is a challenge. I didn't know teleconverters were an option, that's pretty cool. I also have a tripod now, but might not always lug one while backpacking.

The downside to the teleconverter is the loss of about a stop of light, and a *little* bit of sharpness - also, on the Fuji line, only a few of the lenses support it. The really helpful thing about the 100-400 is that it's got image stabilization built into it, so I'll be looking at the subject, and then all of a sudden, the jitter will just stop, and the image will look rock-solid in my viewfinder, and I'll end up with great photos

I kind of like the starkness of it.

Hi!

Another amateur photographer here. Living in Illinois I don't exactly have a lot of stunning landscapes to photograph, so most of my photos are of wildlife and smaller more intimate nature.

My gear currently consists of a Nikon D500 (upgrading to D850 hopefully this year) a 16-80mm f/2.8-4, 70-200 f/2.8, and 200-500 f/5.6 (all Nikkor)

My IG
Got rid of Flikr with the new changes, so don't have one of those.

I look forward to checking out everyone's photos!

Lot of nice shots there r013nt0.

Thank you so much!

I love photographing and can't wait to finally get a pro cam.
Now I use my iphone to shoot some beauty i walk through, usually nature or architecture. I also have an old ussr 35mm camera, which takes incredible moody shots (adding some random pics from my favs)

Those are great!

(though most embeds in here don't seem to be working for me, so I had to manually copy/paste the urls into another tab.. strange)

It's a feature to prevent fake accounts from spamming images. They'll start working when camwoods ticks over to intern status

Oh hey, cool, thanks!
I'm sure that information was posted somewhere I could have seen it had I checked.

I had some decent time with a Sandhill Crane on Saturday. Still working through some of the shots, but this is an early favorite for some strange reason.

Actually you're not posting the image links, you're posting the links to the pages those images are displayed on.

Oh hey, fixed. Also quote isn't edit, in case you didn't know that.

Got a couple of decent Osprey shots last weekend. Nothing too interesting, but now I have a spot to camp to see if I can catch some fishing action or something.

Nice! Ospreys are cool. I enjoy watching them while out fishing.

Awesome! I've got a great Osprey spot nearish me where I caught this last year - they hadn't settled in yet when I stopped by a few weeks ago:

I'm excited to see them again, though, since I've got a much nicer lens setup than I did last year
