I'd definitely be in for a 4-pack.

Ok, I am missing 50 bucks! So i will be there, hopefully in the beta! Goodjer up!

Same here.

I'll be prowling on the twitter feeds for some free codes. With my PC I can't risk to pay for this before I check out how it runs. Surely I will be able to get at least 360 quality graphics, right?

Really looking forward to a change of pace from some of the ridiculousness of MW2. Vehicles are so very nice! Is anyone going to be putting together a group on XBox Live like they did for MW2 or are most of you folks going the Steam route?

Xbox Live here. The first was one of my favorites.

New game mode called Squad Rush

4v4 Infantry combat. Looks pretty fun.

No way. My crash scenes definitely have more empty beers bottles, burger wrappers, and Springsteen CDs strewn around them!

More fire, too. Lots more fire.

I'm in for the PC version.

Looks like EA is taking the same route with Squad Rush that they took with the Extraction mode in Army of Two. Luckily for PC gamers this only affects 360 and PS3 versions.

PC version here. Mr. RichyRambo has been gettin' a bit too big for his britches lately and is in some desperate need of shankin'.

Wow, that's some BS right there.

I want to preorder the game now but I have been buying too many games this month. Is the "beta" only to people who preordered?

You can also sign up for the beta, but pre-ordering guarantees a spot.

We shall see. WoW has made you weak! Weak I say!

As to the beta, is it open to all who preordered? Or just brick n mortar buyers? Having got mine through Amazon I'm curious if I can get in...

Pod Six! On the bounce!

Steam allows access to the beta so I would assume amazon as well.

I just stumbled on this video. Riding shotgun on an ATV....sooooo awesome!

Hehe only a few more days! Please let this game not suck like MW2 did!

Hmmm its looks unlikely that Amazon will offer keys....

http://blogs.battlefield.ea.com/batt...

I was at home, minding my own damn business, this past Saturday when a group of friends that I once played quite a bit of Battlefield 2 with started in on me about how I needed to pick up a copy of this. I informed them that simply because THEY were getting a game was no reason to expect or demand that I also acquire said diversion. 24 hours later and 50 bucks lighter, I guess I'm in. Forced into submission - Purchased under duress.

I will need to know who the better players are so I can group up with them and avoid, as much as possible, getting my rather large posterior shot off, or flown into some stationary object thinks to Swamp Air it seems.

Cheers!

Cancel your order and get it on Steam.

If they'd refund the $20 coupon for buying that PoS MW2, I would in heartbeat. But they won't so I'm stuck.

if you're not buying from Steam and want a beta key you should check out the stores that offer them. GamesCrap is the only one for US I think. At least it's the only one mentioned in the BC2 blog.

If anyone here has an ATI 3870 card or/and an AMD 3800+ CPU can you post how it runs and on what resolution? Thanks.

WoW has made you weak!

My years as GM has placed a hole in my heart that no amount of offline virtual murdering can fill. The knife-hand cries for blood and the cry is, 'RICHY!'

So the Goodjer hive mind consensus is PC on this one? It's been a loooong time since I've gotten my BF swerve on.

When's the Beta

First, let's start by making the official time and date of the Beta the start of this Blog in what will be and EPIC moment in DICE's PC History! The PC Beta begins this Thursday, January 28th at approximately 6pm CET, 12pm EST, and 9am PST time!!!!!!!

Where to Get It

The Client will be downloadable from server partner websites and Steam starting at the above listed time at a file size of 1.5GB. Here's a hyper-link reminder http://bit.ly/4GJk2a on which retailers will provide PC Beta access through pre-ordering.

Hosting the Beta
Renting of Beta servers will not be possible, but we'll work closely with all our RSPs* to ensure there is always enough capacity for each individual regions.

Getting Started In the Beta
STEP 1: Make sure you have at least 5GB free on your HDD and then download and Install BFBC2!
STEP 2: Once installation is completed (install size will be around 1.5GB) start the client and click the login button. You will then be prompted to sign in with your EA Account. If you don't have an EA Account you'll be able to create one in the same screen. (You may also create your EA Account in advance HERE)
STEP 3: Enter the unique PC Beta Code during the log in process to authenticate your participation in the Beta.
Step 4: Create your Soldier name (this will lock that name to your EA account for retail if you want to keep it).

Note: You will not be able to play or access any multiplayer menus without being authenticated. After the Beta Key is registered it will be tied to your EA Account and no longer valid for new registrations. Our game will use SecuROM for the Beta and Final games .exe, for more info on how SecuROM works in BFBC2 please read this Blog to learn about it in more detail.

Shortened the article for brevity; you can read the full thing here

Short version of DRM with SecuRom:

With online activation, you only need to activate once, up to ten activations with each lasting 10,000 days. You can de-activate through uninstall (automatic) or manually in Vista through the games explorer. This will also allow play without the DVD if you buy the disc version.

The Steam version will have SecuRom, but no other details.

DRM Article

These guys are doing it right with the copy protection and with the beta. Now all I have to do is get the client and be ready to insert twitter codes as fast as possible once they start flowing around

I know steam is allowing access to the beta, but it is not on that list.

World Wide Option - EA Store, Steam, Direct2Drive (if your country is not listed above, please check these links)
The list in their blog? It's there. The game costs 40$ in Russia and they get beta. Damn.

I'm 360 on this one. I've moved away from PC gaming, and the last one was brilliant on the 360!

I didn't like the beta on the PS3. The control felt unresponsive, which made the view feel claustrophobic. I'm hoping the mouse control will alleviate that.

It will probably be an even split. The PC only crowd is usually just more vocal on the forums.
