What actor = "bad movie" to you?

The list is endless:

As of late:
Nicolas Cage (Adaptation being the last good one I saw)
Adam Sandler
Eddie Murphy
Ben Stiller
Cameron Diaz
Matthew Mcoughnahey (thank god he came back with Lincoln Lawyer)

Forever since they started:
Ashton Kutcher
Martin Lawrence
Helen Hunt (except As Good as it Gets and Mad about You)
Matthew Broderick
Glenn Close
Bette Midler
Bill Pullman (except Igby Goes Down)
Russell Brand
Jonah Hill (except Moneyball)
Denise Richards
Sarah Michelle Gellar

I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop right there.

LIAR! Ladyhawke is awesome, and Broderick as Mouse is 80's gold! GOLD!

Not to mention Ferris Bueller, Project X (don't tell you didn't cry, everyone cried!), Biloxi Blues, and Glory. 80's gold indeed.

And I'll 2nd this. Though, pretty much a given from my avatar.

Natalie Portman

I just do not get it.

Unfortunately he made the Muppets which is actually good.

She was actually really good in Leon: The Professional, but since then I would agree. I thought Black Swan was terrible and I like art house movies.

As hot as she is, Camilla Belle.

I'll give you The Professional.

Adam Sandler. I get that other people like him, but his brand of humor just doesn't work for me. Just his voice ticks me off. I know that, so I don't watch them.

Finally something I can get wholeheartedly behind. All the man does is terrible. Well, aside from Punch-drunk Love.

Stephen Dorff. I don't think he's ever been in a good movie. And yet I keep watching them all but only because he's so dreamy!

Wha? Forgetting Sarah Marshall was genius!

I guess I missed his 80's glory days because he's only been in bad movies from the 90's onward.

Also, the correct answer is still this:

FTFY

Exactly Mex, thank you. Outside Ferris Bueller's, he's done sh*t and more sh*t. Not to mention I hate the guy and find him irritating more than anything I can think of.

Also, on Natalie Portman:

Leon
Garden State
Black Swan
Closer
she wasn't responsible for Star Wars fiasco
Thor's lacking wasn't her, I found

Most of my targets have been mentioned (Sandler etc), so I shall go with a lesser known target whose presence ruins any film...

Richard Roxburgh.

His appearance usual prompts a thought-dilemma, along the lines of "would this film be f**king sh*t just because he is in it, or is he only in it because it was sh*te anyway".

Cf. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, Van Helsing, but there is also a TV film of the Hound of the Baskervilles (with RR as Sherlock) which must count as an offence against human decency.

We'll have to agree to disagree. I've almost put Seth Rogen on this list, but not just yet. I do find that him and Jack Black are much better for me to stand when they are doing voices for characters than actually being in movies, tho.

I hated all of those save Leon and Thor. And while I liked Thor more than expected, I really disliked her role in it. But YMMV as usual.

Shaquille O'Neal. Done.

The fact that Hayden Christiansen has been discussed at length in this thread makes me seriously question your judgement.

Spoiler:

I may have skimmed. He, however, is terrible.

Also,

Dax Shepard
Dane Cook

To loosely borrow a bit from Norm McDonald: "Carrot Top is box office poison."

Also, that Channing Tatum fella is kind of bad too.

I was going to bring up Channing Tatum earlier. I've only seen him in Coach Carter and I didn't even know it was him for nearly the entire movie. I don't watch the movies he's in because I'm pretty sure that it's impossible to save the movies that he's starred in.

Then allow me.

I also agree with the previous nominees of Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell.

Helen Hunt + Bill Paxton = Twister. I can never forgive them for that.

Casper Van Dien.

WarGames was an excellent documentary of our times.

I guess I wasn't the only one who watched Employee of the Month on the plane this holiday.

Ugh. My son-in-law was watching it at my house before Christmas, and I hid in my room.

Though I do have to say that Dane Cook/Naruto mashup they did where they cast Uchiha Itachi as the creepy guy at work was pretty funny.

I'll come out and say this too. Tom Cruise. I can tolerate him to some degree, but the only flick of his I've ever seen and truly enjoyed was Legend, and that was mostly because he was criminally upstaged by everything down to the leaves on the set trees.

Is there a good actor thread?
